Filtering is way more than convenience. An unfiltered diff buries the one dangerous change under fifty cosmetic ones, whitespace, reordered comments, harmless collation noise, and that is exactly how a bad change sails through review. Being able to mute the junk is a deployment-safety feature, not a nice-to-have. What keeps cluttering your diffs that you wish would just disappear? If it&#39;s environment-specific noise, filtering it is the whole difference between actually reviewing and rubber-stamping.
