## Onshape Reviews
  ### 1. Works straight and simple

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eugene v. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 16, 2024

**What do you like best about Onshape?**

Straight simple software, no saving needed, nice when software/computer does crash

**What do you dislike about Onshape?**

sometimes mating using planes I do miss and a (more simple) possibility to fill in names in drawing heads and to fill in lengths for profiles, or have a library of them.
Sometimes slow
My 3-D connection trackball sometimes doesn't work andhas sometimes to be resetted

**What problems is Onshape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Visualizing and constructing frames, coverers, brackets and configurations we need

  ### 2. Not the best, not the worst.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Georgi T. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 15, 2024

**What do you like best about Onshape?**

That everything is online and gets updated IRL.

**What do you dislike about Onshape?**

The button interface. I guess I am used to the interface the most CAD programs offer.

**What problems is Onshape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Multy-platform connection between teams.

  ### 3. An engineer-centric CAD system

Onshape surfacing tools are great, especially the delete and heal face function. The move face function is also simple and robust.
The fact that I don't need an expensive workstation is also big bonus.

**What do you dislike about Onshape?**

It takes a bit to get used to the mating methodology, as it's markedly different from other CAD packages.

**What problems is Onshape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Owning our own designs, interfacing with our vendors.

  ### 4. SaaS/HaaS CAD revolution is here!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David R. | Technical Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2020

**What do you like best about Onshape?**

NO hardware cost's. NO PDM setup cost's. Sharing, tasks and communication included. Branching like in Software. No files to save and therefore no physicals file limitations.

**What do you dislike about Onshape?**

A little learning curve, because not everything is the same as in other CAD's. Not having a local file is troubeling in the beginning, but after some time it is appreciated. Missing automatic data backup.

**Recommendations to others considering Onshape:**

Try it first before you purchase any old school CAD, you will not loose out anyway. If you don't find what you need (unlikely), you can still switch without much pain (no features, but that's about it).

**What problems is Onshape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's a huge time and money saver in all aspects. We also use it as a PDM and a BOM genereator for our PLM.

  ### 11. Great product, greater service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ken X. | Managing Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 26, 2023

**What do you like best about Onshape?**

Easy to use, without any download and installation, feature updates every 3 weeks, always on time. Superb serivce, fast response and always solve problems. Even the feature is not there at the moment, it'll be in the pipeline and you know when it is actually got impletement. The company engage their customers very well, even for a startup with only several account, you are not forgotten. So you kow you are in good hands and you know they are improving all the time.

**What do you dislike about Onshape?**

Some of the features are still missing like in sheet metal, countersunk holes are not possible. When it comes to patterns, skipping certain locations are not doable now. So let's say bits and bytes here and there, but as a customer, you know they will be added sooner or later and mostly sooner.

**What problems is Onshape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

there's only 1 single source of data of the organization, data management is very easy so less discrepancies inside the organization. Also very easy to share desgins with external stake holders. Version, revision management are excellent, it took some time for us to really understand how to use it, but once you do, file based system without PDM features is definiely a no go anymore.

  ### 12. Personal Work Experience

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Fan Y. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 18, 2024

**What do you like best about Onshape?**

1. I can access Onshape from any device that can connect to the internet. When I'm out, I don't have to carry a heavy computer; I just need to bring a phone or tablet to check or view my models at any time.

2. Modeling can be done with very high dimensional accuracy, which is important.

3. I only need to share a link with my colleagues instead of transferring a large number of various model files.

4. The assembly function is simple and easy to understand.

5. Any feedback is responded to and improved by the official team very quickly.

**What do you dislike about Onshape?**

1. Completely relies on the quality of the network connection, and as a Chinese user, the experience is slightly worse.

2. In my opinion, Onshape is still in its growth phase and has a lot of room for development. At this stage, it integrates many functions, aside from modeling and drawing functions. It also includes features like comments and task publishing, which might be very useful for team collaboration when designing complex models together, serving as a memo or work assignment instructions. However, for individual use, these features seem somewhat cumbersome. It's just that these features are not suitable for users like me who work alone, not that they are bad.
I hope there will be more optimization of the drawing functions in the future. In fact, I think it can refer to some existing software and user-written plugin tools. The official might overlook some aspects, but tools made by users themselves must arise from substantial usage needs.

**What problems is Onshape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

He solved the problem of size accuracy for me. Adjustments can only be made by modifying the dimensions, which means there is almost no difference between my model and the actual product produced.
Additionally, it saved me a lot of time organizing files. :)

  ### 13. Onshape has changed the way we do business.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 25, 2023

**What do you like best about Onshape?**

Onshape collaboration has made it so so easy to comunicate with customers. They are blown away that they can see whats happening and we can discuss jobs from a distance very easily. Ease of use and reliabilty has blown us away not to mention Onshape team is eager to help. We do have other more expensive CAD packages but Onshape is our go to package.

**What do you dislike about Onshape?**

If there was one thing that i find im not really in love with is the release management part of Onshape having said that the way that Onshape upgrades and improves im sure its only a matter of time and this part will only get better.

**What problems is Onshape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Is it wrong to say just about everything we are a small business thats started nearly 4 years ago and we are coming up to our 1st year using Onshape. Our other CAD package is just such a pain with constant issues in so many areas from product help to upgrading .

  ### 14. Onshape - Progressive CAD

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Albert F. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2023

**What do you like best about Onshape?**

I like that Onshape is cloud-based. To me, it is CAD with a modern mindset. It is a dynamic environment with top-class support and frequent updates, a large user support group and great support.

**What do you dislike about Onshape?**

Onshape is developing all the time. It may not have all the features of long-established CAD, but it is fast catching up and doing the old better than the traditional systems.

**What problems is Onshape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Onshape suits my workflow. I often develop concepts in freeform modelling and then turn to Onshape as a fully parametric system. Onshape allows me to animate designs easily and do stress analysis on the same model. I also generate all my detailed drawings in Onshape.

  ### 15. Top tier mobile CAD software

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Austin M. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 13, 2020

**What do you like best about Onshape?**

The best part about onshape is that it is browser based. Also the simplicity of the operations.

**What do you dislike about Onshape?**

Since Onshape is a young software there is not many surfacing tools or other advanced modeling tools that are built-in natively.

**What problems is Onshape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Organizing all of my CAD file for all the customers within the program. Simplifies file management and revisions

  ### 16. 4 Years using Onshape in an Additive Manufacturing Business

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David B. | Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Onshape?**

The fact that we do not have to worry about maintaining software or backing up our projects, as well as the ease with which we can collaborate internally and with our customers.

**What do you dislike about Onshape?**

It would be great to have more scan-based design (reverse engineering) functionality.

**What problems is Onshape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mostly we optimize designs to suit additive manufacturing.

  ### 17. Onshape review Markus Baumgartner

  ### 18. Modern cad for a modern world

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tony W. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2023

**What do you like best about Onshape?**

Great design philosphy, ability to use tools in multiple ways depending on complexity of project. Collaboration crucial and easy, vastly superior to all other cad solutions.

**What do you dislike about Onshape?**

No offline access mode, which can make projects challenging in limited internet scenarios. Would be great if we could just access a model loaded with conneciton present, not to edit but to take measurements and view?

**What problems is Onshape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solves collaboration on all projects, across mechanical and electrical disciplines within our team. Never had a crash or lost file due file loss - and the git-style version management, branching, etc. is incredible!

  ### 19. Great Online CAD software with constant Improvements & Updates

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Electronics | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 02, 2023

**What do you like best about Onshape?**

With the online interface I can use Onshape anywhere. They're always improving and adding new features that are on par with the industry as a whole. Best of all each step taken is saved along the way making it easy to go back ontop of never having to worry about hitting the save button again - it's seamless and doesn't slow down the process.

**What do you dislike about Onshape?**

Being new to the industry not all usual features are available, but with the constant updates it is only a matter of time. The sketching and curve/surface construction experience is one of the major shortfalls I have found in my work.

**What problems is Onshape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Onshape provides the primary Mechanical CAD tool for our business. It supplies us with the ability to work together as a team to design, review, and export our products.

  ### 20. Onshape is the Future of CAD and Collaborative Design

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Wilmer K. | Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2022

**What do you like best about Onshape?**

It's easy to use, things are laid out well. It's powerful yet very flexible due to being cloud-based. This does a variety of different projects very well. I love it

**What do you dislike about Onshape?**

I would really like more user customization for settings and different modes. There isn't much in terms of options. A dark mode would be nice as well as a more intuitive home page layout.

**What problems is Onshape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Collaborative design is a big thing for me and my team. There isn't much in terms of competition in this area. If we couldn't simultaneously work on a design we would radically have to reduce operations.

  ### 21. Absolutely brilliant CAD system that is much easier to use than expected.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alan W. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Onshape?**

Can be used on almost any hardware.
There is nothing that I have not been able to model in Onshape since i started using it in 2016.
It is really intuitive.

**What do you dislike about Onshape?**

There should be a setting to make the "name of a part that is seen in an assembly" default to the "name of the part" and not "part1"

It should prevent duplicate names in a document.

**What problems is Onshape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allows robust control of your product which prevents problems at the build phase

  ### 22. Onshape vs solidworks

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marc G. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Onshape?**

Sketching and 3d parts
Easy to take in hand

**What do you dislike about Onshape?**

Assembly constraint not realy usefull
2d module wasn't has good as soludworks when working with beam

**What problems is Onshape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Online was for me the key point for using Onshape.

  ### 23. I recommend Onshape to anyone and everyone!!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2023

**What do you like best about Onshape?**

It is cloud based and very easy to learn. The keyboard shortcuts are amazing! I love being able to have assemblies and parts in the same file. The benefits of Onshape go on and on.

**What do you dislike about Onshape?**

There's a bit of limitation compared to Solidworks, but they release new features regularly and are catching up so it's not really a drawback.

**What problems is Onshape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Onshape lets us design our parts and reference their dimensions.

  ### 24. Great for startups

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel F. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 25, 2023

**What do you like best about Onshape?**

Collaboration is seamless between multiple uses working on the same or related parts/assemblies. The system never crashes or stalls (unless your internet goes down.) It has all the design features we need and is getting better all the time.

**What do you dislike about Onshape?**

Large assemblies can be slow to load and update. Managing the organization of documents can be tedious.

**What problems is Onshape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have a small team and needed to develop CAD for a complex factory in a short time. This would not have been possible with any other CAD solution.

  ### 25. Is cost effective, but lacks features I like

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Food Production | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Onshape?**

The biggest upside is that you can run on a browser and that makes hardware requirements a lot better.

**What do you dislike about Onshape?**

The downsides are that as a trained SolidWorks user a lot of things I find hard to find and some stuff just feels less powerful. I didn't use it long enough, so maybe the features were there, but they were really hard to find.
Also I think SolidWorks makes the 2D drawings much more flexible and simple, the toolbox is more complete and the multiple configuration in solidworks makes the drawings way more reusable.

**What problems is Onshape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used to design and build things for the company

  ### 26. Onshape is a great software in the cloud

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Automotive | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2021

**What do you like best about Onshape?**

You can do anything that a convenctional software does, but using the benefits of working on a cloud environment.

**What do you dislike about Onshape?**

Drafting still needs to improve. Also Onshape disconnections need to be reduced.

**Recommendations to others considering Onshape:**

It´s the best decision to move to Onshape, and its cloud design capabilities.
Go for it.

**What problems is Onshape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Faster design with and team collaboration.
We can automate repetitive tasks with featurescripts.

  ### 27. The very best CAD system in the world today!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Greg B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 25, 2023

**What do you like best about Onshape?**

Ability to undo/redo almost anything, use it anywhere in the world, powerful and intuitive functionality, all-in-one CAD package.

**What do you dislike about Onshape?**

The only dislike I have is the error messages don't help you solve your actual problem or give enough information about what's wrong with the thing you're trying to achieve.

**What problems is Onshape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Onshape gives me total flexibility where and when I work. It gives me the solution to challenging of creating complex radii forms, which are critical to our products.

  ### 28. The Best Collaborative CAD software available

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Grant B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2023

**What do you like best about Onshape?**

Onshape is the best software for collaborative design projects. It has many features built in such as PDM that are add-ons with some of the other CAD options.

**What do you dislike about Onshape?**

Onshape is a newer software package and is still developing some aspects to rival the best softwares on th market.

**What problems is Onshape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Onshape has allowed me to keep software cost very low while providing an advantage over other mainstream CAD softwares. I do not need windows based ANYTHING!

  ### 29. Great CAD experience, now in a browser!

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Electronics | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Onshape?**

I can use Onshape every where
Customer support is excellent

**What do you dislike about Onshape?**

Assembly that is a nightmare
Miss 3d sketch
Miss automatic calculation of ix and wx of a geometry of model.
A good frame building mode

**What problems is Onshape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Not be dependent on local storage

  ### 31. Excellent software for machine design

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 25, 2023

**What do you like best about Onshape?**

It is very intuitive and builds off of previously established general practiced. I love that it is a general hub for all form of documentation as well. I prefer it over Solidworks.

**What do you dislike about Onshape?**

Sometimes the software can be a little buggy and glitch, you kind of have to problem solve your way through it and sometimes there is not clear reason why a process didn't work.

**What problems is Onshape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has a lot of built in features that support technical writing, design drawings, and transformations of subassemblies that have been very helpful while writing documentation as well as communications between engineers.

  ### 32. Simple to use for beginners, professionals, and those looking for a browser-based CAD solution

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John A. | Student, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2023

**What do you like best about Onshape?**

OnShape's browser-based CAD/CAM solution is very nice for users who don't have access to the necessary hardware to run most applications locally. It is also great for cloud-based collaboration on teams, where applicable. Features are constantly being added to make this great product even better.

**What do you dislike about Onshape?**

Using a browser-based CAD or CAM solution means that you're at the mercy of your internet connection and OnShape servers to be able to work. In fairness to the OnShape team, their servers have never failed while I was using them.

**What problems is Onshape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

OnShape is a cloud-based solution that allows my team to collaborate in real time. With OnShape, it is also possible to use CAD software without sourcing beefy and expensive hardware.

  ### 33. Quick and easy

**What do you like best about Onshape?**

Even though I am used to Fusion 360, Onshape was quick to learn and had many of the great tools fusion 360 offers.

**What do you dislike about Onshape?**

The only downside of Onshape I experienced is the need for internet while you use it, other than that, Onshape is great!

**What problems is Onshape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Multipart projects, Onshape's "Part studio" is a big helper with projects that have lot's of parts

  ### 34. Onshape User friendly

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Josh M. | Welder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

  ### 38. Onshape is a great web based CAD.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Biotechnology | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 25, 2023

**What do you like best about Onshape?**

Web based so your computer doesn't crash and therefore your work is always saved. It has a lot of basic features however I'm told the more advanced features aren't as good as those within Solidworks.

**What do you dislike about Onshape?**

Having to always update other studios for the assembly to be current. I understand this is intentional but perhaps there could be a setting that the subcomponents always update so you don't have to manually go through and update to current.

**What problems is Onshape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to model products and designs.

  ### 39. Fast, simple and enjoyable CAD design!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Randall M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 01, 2023

**What do you like best about Onshape?**

It's a very user-friendly CAD experience. Compared to other commercial software I've used, it's on another level. Cloud features are fantastic for collaborative work, and assembly mating is pretty intuitive.

**What do you dislike about Onshape?**

Sometimes, due to the connection speed, things take a bit long to load, for example, when I'm making testing changes to a well-defined sketch. Also, some tools are yet to be added, like adding different typography to sketches and some surface/complex body features.

**What problems is Onshape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Render studio is a pretty decent addition to the software. The variable studio is also practical when working with multiple studios. Simulation features are also great; I haven't used them recently, but the capabilities are very promising.

  ### 40. Good for online CAD collaboration. Not so fast when it comes to loading large assemblies/documents.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2023

**What do you like best about Onshape?**

Online collaboration and web-based is pretty cool.

**What do you dislike about Onshape?**

It gets slow for large assemblies/documents.

**What problems is Onshape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Collaboration between mechanical designers.

  ### 41. Simple, effective, cloud based

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Electronics | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2023

**What do you like best about Onshape?**

The lerning modules were the most helpful. I really appreciated the ability to re-watch the training videos at my own pace. The cloud based system was also a standout characteristic- made it easier to run on my devices

**What do you dislike about Onshape?**

Some of the wording for the training modules was a little hard to understand, this led to me trying different approaches to complete the course. Similarly, denoting which language is OnShape specific would help when communicating with CAD professionals what language to use.

**What problems is Onshape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Collaborating with different teams on the same project - keeping version histories organized - it has enabled my team to communicate with team members in another country/department.

  ### 42. Onshape is great to do collaborative design, and is great to see its improving in the drawing space

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Industrial Automation | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2023

**What do you like best about Onshape?**

The collaborative space it creates. Its great to have several engineers working in the same document simultaneously. Also the git-like development with branches, version and merges

**What do you dislike about Onshape?**

Loading times, perfomance issues and not being able to merge drawings

**What problems is Onshape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Collaborative environment to iterate in a fast pace. We work following Agile methodologies and using them for hardware desing. Without cloud based software we wont be able to do this

  ### 43. It's a good platform, easy to operate and has many features

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stefano O. | Engineer, Airlines/Aviation, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 02, 2023

**What do you like best about Onshape?**

The assembly woerkbench its incredible, mate conecctors make the things easier and more intuitive. The cloud platform its incredible because I can use I'm different computers with low processing power

**What do you dislike about Onshape?**

You can not isolate a view in drawing, can not change te thickness of a line in drawing, the color. Every time the platform ask you to create a new version just to add the part to another assembly

**What problems is Onshape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Many users can use the platform at the same time, create versions and workspace in the same part, using in computers with lower processing power and in different places.

  ### 44. Onshape, the future of CAD/CAM and all things mechanical design

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brent B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 25, 2023

**What do you like best about Onshape?**

Onshape is cloud based; I can instantly share designs with customers, collaborate with offsite engineers and build complicated models quickly.

**What do you dislike about Onshape?**

There are some days/times when the updates slow down, usually network related.

**What problems is Onshape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

OnShape is combining the necessary elements to do a complete design in one package; Sketch, Model, FEA, 3D print.

  ### 45. Onshape has pulled me out of many holes.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Oil & Energy | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 25, 2023

**What do you like best about Onshape?**

Accessable anywhere, intuative and easy to use there's not a lot not to like.

**What do you dislike about Onshape?**

Onshape currently lacks some niche features that may be useful in larger industries and are accessible in other CAD softwares.

**What problems is Onshape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Onshape has helped me quickly design and implement solutions to business critical problems.

  ### 46. easy to use

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Manufacturing | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 13, 2020

**What do you like best about Onshape?**

the updates you get every 3 weeks.......

**What do you dislike about Onshape?**

lack of tools for profiles on GD&T.........

**Recommendations to others considering Onshape:**

easy to use

**What problems is Onshape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

the low price to have several seats .being able to share info with others

  ### 47. Good, productive and pleasant

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Oriol L. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 26, 2023

**What do you like best about Onshape?**

Workflow, user interface. GIT style organization.

**What do you dislike about Onshape?**

Online connection sometimes makes it slow and unreliable.
I miss topology optimization and generative design options.

**What problems is Onshape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We design our drones for delivery in Onshape

  ### 48. Onshape is ideal for teams to work quickly with low overhead

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cedar F. | Verification Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2022

**What do you like best about Onshape?**

Top 3 Onshape features:
- every change is saved in the version history. No file mgmt.
- browser-based. No software to install, so you can use/share access with anyone anywhere
- powerful modeling tools made to design products with fewer steps

**What do you dislike about Onshape?**

Latency - the most significant challenge with using Onshape is that it is easy to build models that are too big and become slow to load. There are ways around this issue, but I wish Onshape would have latency-reducing tools built in automatically.

**What problems is Onshape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Onshape solves file-sharing with traditional CAD: copy-paste the URL, and everyone sees the same thing in the right version! And you can control who can see or edit what.

  ### 49. OnShape use for Engineering applications

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gabriel D. | System Integration Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 24, 2022

**What do you like best about Onshape?**

Ease of use with the link actualization between teams. Rapid use of manual searchup when uploaded different files into a single revision. Ease of file management,

**What do you dislike about Onshape?**

Sometimes it takes time to load high design drawings which include several projects on the same file. Also, sometimes it is hard to make a change when multiple users are connected to the same drawing (load times most of all).

**What problems is Onshape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I don't have sufficient information to answer this question. A benefit I'd say is the usual fast respone, making our team work more productive overall. I believe the businesss has been more efficient in targetting and delivering different drawings with different technical specifications.

  ### 50. Two years design experience, mostly as administrator for company licenses.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ståle K. | Senior Project Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2020

**What do you like best about Onshape?**

Onshape is easy to adapt to, no installation of software, and the web solution works very well even with several persons working on the same model. Other 3D-modelling software require costly hardware and hours of complicated installations.

**What do you dislike about Onshape?**

Limited functions related to drawing production.
Missing the possibility of showing some items that are not part of the primary model but included on the drawing, to be shown with dashed lines.

**What problems is Onshape solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Modeling structural items in teams of 6-7 designers, with one master assembly covering all items. Very easy co-operations between each person working on the model. Very easy for other users to open and review model.
