Okta also has a larger network and provides a single click setup, making it easier compared to our previous solution, PingID, which had a more complex setup. I appreciate the "pane of glass" feature that allows end users to access all their apps easily. The setup was quick, taking less than a day, which was a big plus for us. **What do you dislike about Okta?** Sometimes when we connect to different mainframe server centers, Okta takes significantly more time to authenticate, even though those servers have decent bandwidth. UI is easy to use and integrates easily with thousands of common applications like Google or Stripe. It also can integrate with custom built application - I build a dashboard for the organization that's authentication and authorization are managed via Okta. Downtime has been non-existent for us. **What do you dislike about Okta?** The learning curve has been pretty steep. I took their courses and became certified in Okta systems and I still struggle with going to the right place and making the right changes. There's a lot of hidden nuances that if you're not trained in IAM management and IT Networking/Sec then it's easy to miss a required change for things to work. We utilize the Okta for Good program, so I can't comment on price much but we initially added on the Device Access but between me another IT tech, we couldn't figure out how to get it working so we eventually just dropped the extra. **What problems is Okta solving and how is that benefiting you?** Onboarding is easier and we have unified SSO for our primary applications so staff only needs to remember one passwords instead of 30. ### 3. The SSO experience is seamless for end users. One login gets you into everything. Slack, Google Workspace, Salesforce, internal tools, without anyone having to remember a separate set of credentials for each platform. That alone has drastically reduced the number of "I forgot my password" tickets hitting our IT desk every week. MFA is where Okta really earns its keep from a security standpoint. The push notification flow through the Okta Verify app is smooth enough that users actually comply without complaining, which, if you've ever tried rolling out MFA before, you know is half the battle. Adaptive MFA is particularly smart, it picks up on unusual login behaviour and steps up verification only when something looks off, rather than pestering everyone every single time. I no longer have to remember the login credentials for the many tools we use internally. It also helps ensure that, by using Okta, the organization’s security protocols are consistently met, so I don’t have to keep worrying about it on an ongoing basis. **What do you dislike about Okta?** Okta keeps prompting me to save credentials on the personal side as well, which is a bit annoying. There should be a setting where I can specify once that I don’t want to save certain credentials, and then not be asked again. Makes it easier for us employees to pull up the tools that we need to use at any time. As a student, I often have to use multiple platforms for coursework, collaboration, and research, and having a single sign-on experience saves a lot of time and frustration. The interface is straightforward, so it doesn't take long to find the apps or resources I need. **What do you dislike about Okta?** One downside of Okta is that the multi-factor authentication process can sometimes feel repetitive, especially when switching between devices or accessing applications frequently throughout the day. While the security benefits are important, there are times when the extra verification steps slow down the workflow. **What problems is Okta solving and how is that benefiting you?** It also helps improve security by adding identity verification and access controls without creating too much complexity for users. As a student, this means I spend less time dealing with login issues and more time focusing on coursework, research, and collaboration. I don't waste any time logging in to multiple things and I know it's secure. I also like that I have customizable MFA. It makes onboarding new employees extremely easy and stress free. **What do you dislike about Okta?** There was a little bit of a difficult learning curve at the beginning when I was trying to configure MFA. I wish there was a more robust guide on doing this properly when first being introduced to Okta. **What problems is Okta solving and how is that benefiting you?** I don't have to worry about password fatigue, getting locked out of apps, resetting passwords every 30 days, or going to a separate application to request access to a new app. Overall it helps save me a lot of time and frustration which allows me to focus on the important tasks at work. I also love that it's integrated with Slack so any app request updates are immediately visible to me. ### 47.
