Also for start and stop the Octoprint you don't have to present physically, you can do it remotly and its very cast effective becuase it's free, its open source platform. **What do you dislike about OctoPrint?** The process of installation is bit difficult, it take some time and some time I feel that there is TCP signal are lost during connection, nothing more. **What problems is OctoPrint solving and how is that benefiting you?** We can use it Remotly wheather I was in my bedroom, Kitchen or balcony, I don't have to present physically to the printer. Its very fast and easy to print. Varity of feature and also the updates are very goof on time to time. ### 2. It does require hardware, which can be a downside for some people, but we run it on a Raspberry Pi, which is inexpensive. **What problems is OctoPrint solving and how is that benefiting you?** Octoprint turns a regular, desktop 3d printer into a networkable creation machine. It allows a much greater degree of control and several options for remote monitoring and control. ### 4. This allows you to check on your prints from anywhere! It also allows you to customize almost anything you want with the available plugins. **What do you dislike about OctoPrint?** The fact they they run on a raspberry pi which are crazy expensive right now. Other than that octoprint is a great product with a little bit of a learning curve that once you know what to do it's great. **What problems is OctoPrint solving and how is that benefiting you?** Octoprint allows you to view your prints from anywhere with a web interface. This can be viewed through applications as well. The ability to add a camera and view your prints is great to especially when dealing with issues. ### 5. Some plugins are invaluable for a 3D printing enthusiast, e.g. Telegram bot and also Obi Owl. **What do you dislike about OctoPrint?** Plugin development seems to have stopped. Additional plugins would be great. Depending on the 3D printer, some local functionality is lost when using OctoPrint, e.g. progress and control on the touch screen. **What problems is OctoPrint solving and how is that benefiting you?** It solves the critical challenge of being unable to be at the 3D printer continuously. 3D printing typically takes hours to complete, and a lot can go wrong, which OctoPrint can monitor and alert you on (directly or through plugins) ### 6. Helps me use and control my printer from a distance. ### 7. The web interface is simple yet full featured and it can be made to work with all of my 3d printers. It also allows me to start prints when I am away so I can be more productive. Having a web cam lets me see if there are flaws so I can cancel a print before I waste too much material. **What do you dislike about OctoPrint?** The only issues I have had with OctoPrint is if I cancel a print and try to restart it. Sometimes a restarted print will fail right away. I have found that you can not cancel during warm up. Instead, cancel right after and it negates the issue. Cura slicing has not worked properly for me built in OctoPrint. It would be nice if that integration was corrected so it was useful again. Having to have my printers profile on every one of my devices in order to slice is a bit annoying when it could be hosted in one place. **Recommendations to others considering OctoPrint:** Make sure you set up your printer profile correctly and always monitor! **What problems is OctoPrint solving and how is that benefiting you?** I must sometimes walk away during prints that take over 24 hours. I like to have monitoring and the ability to pause or cancel if needed. This gives me the added safety of monitoring even when I can not be there. Being a web interface, I can do this from any of my devices anywhere I am. I am also able to adjust temperatures on the fly. This is a very helpful option if I see something abnormal. ### 8.
