"Comprehensive Learning with Interactive Features"
What do you like best about O'Reilly?

I find O'Reilly incredibly valuable for learning new technologies, offering a comprehensive array of resources such as courses, live events, books, and interactive labs that allow me to learn and practice simultaneously. The inclusion of books and labs alongside regular courses is a standout feature, as it provides a more holistic learning experience. I appreciate the certification paths that guide me through reference materials, videos, and courses needed to achieve my goals, along with sample mock tests for practice. The availability of AI-suggested playlists further enhances the learning experience by offering personalized recommendations. I am particularly impressed with the on-demand courses that enable live interaction with instructors, giving me the opportunity to clarify doubts in real-time and access recorded sessions for future reference. Additionally, the initial setup of O'Reilly was smooth and user-friendly, thanks to the helpful product tour and documentation, making my learning journey effortless. "O'Reilly: Comprehensive Tech Library with Some Variability in Content Quality"
What do you like best about O'Reilly?

From theoretical computer science to practical engineering applications, O'Reilly's library covers an incredibly broad range of topics. It's my go-to resource whenever I need to research a new technology, explore complex concepts, or simply expand my understanding of the tech world. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about O'Reilly?

While generally excellent, the quality of content can vary slightly between different authors and resources. It's always a good practice to critically evaluate the information presented, regardless of the source. Some older materials might not be as thoroughly updated as more recent additions. "It's not just about the books!"
What do you like best about O'Reilly?

There are so many options to learn: Video on demand, sandboxes to play in and live webinars!

I find that I reference specific chapters of books rather than reading the whole book. The search utility allows me to see chapters instead of just returning titles. I like that it's easy to use and pretty consistent across platforms.

I also like that there is a productivity category. I find a few gems in there to help me with my day. Pretty much anything I need to reference will be in O'Reilly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about O'Reilly?

There aren't any real downsides to using O'Reilly. The only issue I have is that AI/LLMs are dominating my feed. I get it, LLMs are the rage right now, but I'd also like to see some variations based on my other interests. It's not that big of a deal as I know how to search, have my playlists, and can discover new stuff easily so I can deal with it until it blows over. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Wroth the subscription if you love reradinfg the books"
What do you like best about O'Reilly?

Platform not just for O'Reilly but also for Packt, Manning, Apress, and many other major publications, all in one place for the cost of just one book per month! Besides affordability, we offer collections, highlight important sentences, join live courses, and listen to audiobooks. It is AI-enabled, so if you don't understand any technical terms or want to explore further, there's no need to switch between ChatGPT—just ask AI directly within the book! It also has a mobile app, so you can use it on your phone or tablet and switch seamlessly between devices from where you left off! It integrates easily with all your devices. What do you dislike about O'Reilly?

Frankly speaking, I do not see any downside, but it would be better if they could include some less known publications as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Very easy to focus on development learning"
What do you like best about O'Reilly?

The easiness to find the course I'm looking for since there are very specific and there is not a ton of courses of the same topic so it's easier to choose one and focus my learning with practical exercises suggested in the curse. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about O'Reilly?

So far it has fulfilled my expectations on what to expect of the courses I've taken but I'm sure I'm missing many features that I have not explored yet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A rare combination of variety, quality, depth, timeliness, and usability"
What do you like best about O'Reilly?

I find books, courses, and events by authors with a great reputation and well-known in the market Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about O'Reilly?

The number of offers generates a bit of anxiety, as I don't have much time to enjoy them. The price is also a bit high for developing countries, like Brazil. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great upskilling platform"
What do you like best about O'Reilly?

The type of content available is very complete and up to date. Also, they have a lot of technologies that you can learn and the instructors are of the best quality. Not sure there's anything else to say. I have never needed customer support and use it very frequently. It is very easy to use. Don't have an opinion on ease of implementation or integration but can use it in my laptop or iPad without any issues. Now that I know about it probably would get me a subscription on my own even if I change employers and my new employer doesn't give me a free subscription. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about O'Reilly?

The only thing I could say I don't like is that IMHO they keep too many old material listed. I understand that some old material can be valuable but some is not, given that they have newer material listed. New versions of frameworks or platforms come out and make older versions obsolete. In technology 1 - 2 years is a lot of time, so when you see material that is 5-10 years old it makes their library feel a bit bloated with obsolete info. I know you can filter old stuff but still, I think is not helpful to have a lot of the older (>5 years) material, unless is one of the classic/timeless material like the Code Clean book or stuff like that. But the Security+ material from 2 versions before is not really helpful since you cannot take test on that material. Other than that is a great platform. I'm happy my company give us a subscription. "Excellent learning materials on the O'Reilly platform"
What do you like best about O'Reilly?

The very best parts of O'Reilly in my mind are the webinars. First, there is something for everyone. If you're learning Linux, or Python, or AI, or studying for Security+, and just about any other tech topic, there is a webinar for you. Second, nearly every session comes with resources. I have many PDFs from the various speakers. It's great to be able to go back and look at materials. Finally, everything is recorded and a link is sent back to you when the recording is ready. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about O'Reilly?

Recently, O'Reilly switched to a new webinar provider and there have a been a few hiccups. Nothing that is a deal breaker, but the previous vendor was less problematic. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
