I use Nickel to handle both invoicing and payment collection securely. The simplicity of the entire billing process from start to payment makes our jobs easier. It's quick and easy to send invoices to customers, and more of our customers are starting to use Nickel to submit payments. When sending invoices to customers, instead of the invoice being delivered separately to the employees at the company, it should cc all the points of contact at the company. It doesn't affect it much, but just having to tell customers the invoice did get sent to the right person can be a slight hassle. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love that Nickel is an easy and free platform for small businesses like ours with low needs. It's fantastic for invoicing customers and paying vendors without any fees, which is perfect since we have limited transactions. The UX could be improved. It could suggest the next invoice #, have more system feedback when sending an invoice to the customer via email and/or text, and it could also remind me to remind a customer after a certain number of days to pay their invoice. Outstanding platform! Nickel has completely simplified the way I get paid and pay my subcontractors. The setup was straightforward, the interface is modern and intuitive, and payments are processed seamlessly.

I love how easy it is to track invoice payment status in real time without dealing with unnecessary paperwork or confusion. Also, having all transactions in one place comes handy when the tax season comes.

Nickel is a very powerful, but surprisingly lightweight accounting platform for my small business. I love the easy-to-navigate interface, and how easy it is to schedule payments to vendors and get paid via ACH. I love how fast the platform is with no lag, the no-fee vendor payments, and how quickly and easily it integrates with QuickBooks. The platform is also incredibly user-intuitive and easy to use. Nickel makes everything super simple to use, and nothing feels over-engineered. It syncs with QuickBooks, and in the seven months we’ve been using it—after switching from Melio and Bill.com—the syncing has been flawless. The pricing/fees are reasonable, and they don’t nickel-and-dime you when you’re trying to get paid or pay vendors. Pun intended.

We haven’t had to use support yet, so I can’t speak to how quick or helpful they are, but with most other platforms we’ve tried, we usually end up having to raise a support ticket within a few weeks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

You’re required to enter an email address when you pay someone, even though not all of our vendors want to receive payment remittance emails. The approval workflows could also be improved. I like that Nickel is free, and I appreciate that it's easy for my clients and provides a frictionless experience. I also enjoy the simplicity of the payment notification emails that aren't cluttered with marketing, just letting me know money is coming my way. The setup was fairly easy, and after that, I haven't really had to think about getting paid. I'd love the option to create invoices that actually have line items. The invoicing just having a total amount due isn't good enough for being a standalone invoice experience. My invoices often include line items and quantities and cost per unit and taxes, and things that just aren't able to be put in the invoices that I create with Nickel. Nickel is amazing! It precisely hits the pain point of those small businesses, which use Quickbook Online and need to accept payments online. QBO charges percentage fees on each transition, which is a big hurdle for those small biz. Nickel allows us to bypass all QBO transaction based fees. Simply a onetime annual fee, absolutely no transaction based fee. I love that Nickel does not charge outrageous fees or subject users to absurd PCI requirements for using their website-based system. That they do not charge any fees for ACH is so refreshing when competitors (and businesses) typically charge them. Complicated PCI DSS compliance makes no sense when users are not required to save any data locally when using an online processing portal, and yet competitors subject users to confusing, annual gauntlets of questions which do not apply.
