Netwrix Password Secure Reviews & Product Details

Netwrix Password Secure is an enterprise workforce password management solution that centralizes, secures, and audits credentials across an organization's IT environment. Password Secure runs self-hosted, giving IT full data ownership. Deploy it on-premises, in your own cloud environment, or hybrid, always inside infrastructure you control, never a third-party SaaS tenant. Role-based access controls ensure users and admins only see the credentials their job requires, while approval-based workflows protect privileged and shared accounts from open access. Key Features and Functionality: - Self-Hosted Architecture: Runs entirely inside infrastructure you control, on-premises, in your own cloud environment, or hybrid, never a third-party SaaS vault, giving you full data ownership and encryption control. - Centralized Password Vault: Store user, administrator, and service credentials in a single encrypted vault, with end-to-end encryption available when you select that mode for your Active Directory integration. Employees also get personal secret storage alongside structured team spaces for collaboration. - Granular Role-Based Access: Assign permissions by role so individuals access only the credentials they need. IT maintains full visibility into who has access to which secrets and how they're used. - Privileged Access Workflows: Route sensitive accounts through approval-based controls, with instant access revocation during offboarding. Privileged usage can be monitored and recorded throughout its lifecycle. - Full Audit Logging: Track every credential access and action for accountability and audit readiness. Full reporting and a complete logbook of password-related activity mean audit preparation takes minutes, not weeks. - Cross-Platform Access: Reach the vault through the Windows client, web app, mobile app, or browser extension, with autofill support and authentication methods aligned to corporate standards. - Directory Integration: Connect with Active Directory and Entra ID for consistent identity governance. - Flexible Deployment: Choose on-premises, cloud, or hybrid, with load balancing and high availability options to match your infrastructure and compliance needs. - PAM Integration: Connect with Netwrix's privileged access management solution to use Password Secure as the vault for relevant secrets across systems, applying consistent policies across privileged and non-privileged credentials so secrets exist in one controlled system instead of scattered across tools. - Enterprise-Scale Governance: Built to structure workforce password management from the start. Where consumer password managers break down past 100 employees, causing vault sprawl and unclear permissions, Password Secure delivers centralized governance and consistent policy enforcement across the entire organization. Primary Value and User Solutions: Weak, shared, and unmanaged passwords remain one of the most common breach vectors organizations face. Password Secure closes that gap by moving credentials out of spreadsheets and shadow vaults into a governed, encrypted vault your team fully controls. Running self-hosted, security teams keep data ownership instead of trusting a third-party SaaS provider, regardless of whether that infrastructure sits on-prem or in their own cloud. Password quality rules, MFA, and approval-based workflows protect privileged accounts, while complete activity logs let teams answer who accessed what and when. Take a service account shared across multiple administrators as an example: without Password Secure, that credential typically lives in a spreadsheet where no one knows who used it last and rotation gets skipped because changes break scripts. With Password Secure, the account sits in a centrally managed, encrypted vault, access requires MFA, usage is logged, and rotation follows defined policy. When an administrator leaves, access is revoked immediately and the event is documented. Organizations gain consistent identity governance, faster audit prep, and secure collaboration without slowing daily work. Consumer-focused password managers create unmanaged vault sprawl that no one maintains. Password Secure delivers structured RBAC, approval workflows, centralized governance, and complete audit visibility built for enterprise-wide adoption, not just IT usage.
