## NameScan Reviews
 ### 1. NameScan for Namibia

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Philip V. | Cluster Risk Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 06, 2026

**What do you like best about NameScan?**

We use NameScan regularly to meet KYC requirements in Namibia. We prefer it for its very comprehensive scan results, which make it easier for us to stay compliant.

**What do you dislike about NameScan?**

It’s a bit expensive for us in Africa because of the exchange rates, especially since we don’t do large volumes of scans and rely on the pay-as-you-go rates.

**What problems is NameScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We rely on this system to obtain a comprehensive scan for KYC purposes, since the locally available options are too limited based on our risk assessment.

 ### 2. Easy to Use, Flexible Pay-As-You-Go Pricing

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Arman S. | Mortgage & Finance Broker, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 31, 2026

**What do you like best about NameScan?**

Easy to use and pay as you go so there’s no ongoing commitment.

**What do you dislike about NameScan?**

The IDV and FaceMatch are separate steps.

**What problems is NameScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ID verification

 ### 3. Good and bad but the bad outweighs the good

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 14, 2024

**What do you like best about NameScan?**

Decent service, has potential if billing practices could be improved

**What do you dislike about NameScan?**

Dupes and false positives are a problem.

Billing practices cause all credits to expire after only one year. They must make more from non-use than from active users

**What problems is NameScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Compliance with legal obligations

 ### 4. Easily find Sanctions regulations

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rashab K. | Research Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 13, 2023

**What do you like best about NameScan?**

I love how easy it is to find the sanctions regulations and how it helps in fulfilling Anti Money laundering requirements. The user interface (UI) is also very simple to understand, making it easier for businesses to navigate and utilize the platform efficiently

**What do you dislike about NameScan?**

what i particularly dislike about Name Scan is that its accuracy depends on the quality of its databases and sources, which appears to be incomplete or outdated and leads to incorrect or incomplete results times. There is also a risk of false positives or negatives, which can result in errors or inefficiencies in the compliance process.

**What problems is NameScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Name Scan for ensuring compliance with Anti Money Laundering (AML) and Counter Terrorism Financing (CTF) regulations, by verifying the identities of our customers, assessing their risk profiles, monitoring transactions for suspicious activities, and generating compliance reports. it helps us streamline our compliance processes and mitigate the risks of financial crimes.

 ### 5. Anti Money Laundering Compliance Platform

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shivani S. | OSINT Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 24, 2022

**What do you like best about NameScan?**

NameScan is a service that helps you to protect your company from risky business partners and to ensure compliance with international sanctions. I like the ability to quickly scan a list of potential business partners/individuals against OSINT data sources to check for any red flags. It is also very affordable, making it an indispensable tool for small businesses and startups. The best part is that it integrates directly with your existing systems, making it easy to keep your data up-to-date with the latest PEP and sanction lists

**What do you dislike about NameScan?**

I think the name scan for PEP/Sanctions is inaccurate and needs more work. I have had a few experiences where it wrongly identified people as being on sanctions lists when they were not. In some cases, it has even caused issues with business transactions because one of the parties was incorrectly identified as being on a sanctions list.

**What problems is NameScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our Organisation uses Namescan on a daily basis on every case for a quick search to find individuals or business partners in PEP or Sanction list. It takes an innovative approach to the identification of PEPs (politically exposed persons) and AML (anti-money laundering) targets.

 ### 6. Name Scan -A quick search for PEP Checks and Sanctions Screenings

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** RASHAB K. | Research Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 07, 2022

**What do you like best about NameScan?**

Name Scan is a quick search database for PEP Checks and Sanctions Screenings and to search for KYC/AML checks quickly. You can manually set up match rates in your search results with filtering of adverse media with other filters such as FATF Jurisdiction Risk and results from Google and Bing. I love its interface and how quickly one can understand to search on it. You can also enter a reference number for your search to help to get to it the next time you need it.

**What do you dislike about NameScan?**

The search results are not that great compared to watchlists and sanctions lists such as Dow Jones, WorldCheck, WorldCompliance, and Accuity. The results provided consist of expired sources and are a problem in investigations. There are also some results not shown in the database which are easily identifiable through booleans on web platforms such as Google and Bing.

**What problems is NameScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Name Scan allows our organization to investigate a Politically exposed person with sources and KYC/AML checks from other jurisdictions with advantages such as E-filing, Name matching and final compliance check report generation.

 ### 7. NameScan - PEP checks

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shashank K. | OSINT Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 05, 2022

**What do you like best about NameScan?**

I like how easy it is to perform a namescan check for PEP Checks and Sanction Screenings. All you need is a name with available filters such as DOB and web search for adverse media, Politically exposed person.
The sources provided in the results is a great help as you can then find other information which could have taken a lot of filtering out to result in seconds.

**What do you dislike about NameScan?**

It sometimes provides you with sources that are expired links and is not likely to be correct. It also does not give enough other identifiers to conduct the research further.

**What problems is NameScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our organization is a due diligence company and requires a name scan for every individual for PEP screenings and adverse media findings. It also helps us to distinguish findings in a particular tier which can further help us to paint a better picture of an investigation

 ### 8. NameScan - A quick scan for investigations

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ebenezer J. | Due Diligence Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 06, 2021

**What do you like best about NameScan?**

NameScan allows you to scan an individual or organization's name with an adjustable match rate to scan and investigate KYC/AML checks quickly in seconds. You can filter out your research on filters such as Date of Birth, Gender, Country, Web search and it even has a match rate which is very useful in eliminating results. If you identify the individual/company you are investigating upon, it will show you , results with in categories like Politically exposed persons with its tier, SIE. It provides extra information such as employement roles, adverse media along with sources which is very helpful in further investigation of a person

**What do you dislike about NameScan?**

Since it pulls its data from Acuris Intelligence database, it doesnot always neccesarily shows you identifiers that are very common on web search, or Risks which are easily identified through Web searches.

**Recommendations to others considering NameScan:**

It is strictly as how it is promoted -A Complete KYC/AML checks in seconds and is highly recommended for those who deal with investigations where an individual/person might have connections Politically.

**What problems is NameScan solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our organization uses Name Scan to identify Politically Exposed Persons or SIE and determine the type of risk by the Tier categories. The sources tab allows us to further our research and supplies information/articles, which is not always easy to find.
