What do you like best about N2K Certify?

I appreciate how straightforward N2K Certify makes it to assign role‑specific technical training paths and generate quick qualification summaries for client proposals. Many of our enterprise IT service clients require documented proof of active CompTIA and AWS certifications before our consultants are allowed onto their project environments. With N2K Certify, I can bundle custom learning tracks focused on cloud security or network infrastructure, assign them to targeted consultants, and pull consolidated status reports in minutes. Before we adopted this tool, I spent endless hours chasing our engineers for screenshots of course completions and cobbling together evidence across multiple Excel sheets. Last spring while putting together a large cybersecurity bid, I spent nearly two full days emailing back and forth just to gather scattered training proof from our team. Even with its strengths, CSV exports still create frustrating hiccups. When we prepared qualification data for one prospect’s pre‑award checklist, I exported consultant records and multi‑line notes containing detailed lab observations got truncated. I didn’t catch the problem until reviewing the final proposal draft, forcing me to go back into N2K Certify and manually restore every missing piece of information. Creating empty learning tracks is simple and I can spin up new course groups within a single workday without external technical support. All in all, its ability to centralize training readiness data cuts down so much of the tedious manual legwork we dealt with when we were still using Skillsoft. What do you dislike about N2K Certify?

CSV export and field‑mapping behavior in N2K Certify can be really inconsistent when moving engineer qualification data over to our primary CRM system. A few months ago, I exported a batch of training records for our cloud consultants to prepare documentation for a financial‑sector client kick‑off. Some multi‑line text fields holding detailed notes about partial cybersecurity lab work got completely truncated upon export. Critical context about which lab tasks each engineer had finished was lost. I didn’t spot this data corruption until I was finalizing client‑facing qualification paperwork. I was forced to open N2K Certify side‑by‑side with our CRM and manually copy‑paste every single missing note, which burned several hours out of my busy work schedule. Role access controls are another major shortcoming for our small IT consulting team. I would like our engineering manager to be able to view training progress and assign new certification courses, but keep them locked away from editing business‑development metadata tied to consultant profiles. N2K Certify does not offer this granular table‑level permission setting. If I enable course‑assignment privileges for them, they also receive edit rights over BD‑related fields, which creates real risk of accidental changes to proposal‑critical qualification records. There is no native sync with our CRM either, so every data refresh depends on manual file handling that opens the door for human error. These pain points regularly add substantial extra admin workload onto my plate as a business development IT analyst. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
