Other tools I have used include Screaming Frog and SEMRush. I'll note that I'm not a technical SEO -- I've always relied on dev resources for that. For what I need, however, Moz is perfect. It helps me optimize every page of my website based on data, provides excellent tracking and reporting, helps with link building, and makes it easy to identify and fix crawl errors. That's not something I personally use it for, but I know that tools like SEMRush and Screaming Frog have more niche functionality that goes beyond that of Moz. Moz Pro helps me conduct keyword research, which I use to optimize my website's content -- title tags, headings, keyword use in copy, image file names and alt tags, schema markup, etc. I also use this data to inform our campaign strategy on Google Ads and Microsoft Ads. That data has immense value for our blog and email strategy, as well. The weekly digest emails help me stay on top of my site's health, alerting me to changes in rankings, crawl errors, opportunities, and more. As a nonprofit, we needed something simple to track rankings, do keyword research, monitor and forward technical issues, and keep an eye on competitors. This is the most straightforward tool we found, and has room for colleagues to grow and explore SEO as needed. The fact that it shows this against competitors helps to decide where the actions should be made. Search is a fast-paced industry, and as Google changes, as Bing changes, as AI has become part of the tapestry it's a challenge to keep up. It gives a great insight into where our various print products and ranges sit within the Organic listings, and this dictates a proportion of changes within PPC and Merchant Center ads. The table-based interview that isn't yet Responsive throughout the majority of the Moz site (still as of Sept 2025) is a pain still waiting on the re-engineering whole Sections within their site continually.
