**What do you like best about Minga?**

I love that Minga lets us praise students, award positive reward points, communicate with parents, and cash those points in for rewards all in one place. Having automations for other guidance also helps my administrators support students more effectively and address behaviors before they become more extreme. The hall pass feature helps clean up our hallways by monitoring which students have been out of class, and it also helps us identify students who need more structure during unstructured times of the day. My students love seeing their Minga Points add up from positive behaviors, and the checkout process for cashing them in is so easy that it creates a smooth reward process—one that’s unmatched by any program I’ve ever used.

**What do you dislike about Minga?**

I have struggled sometimes with the calendar integration and promoting events.

**What problems is Minga solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Rewarding students that are not always seen on campus, and communicating with parents very easily the great things that are students are doing on campus. Tracking reward points has never been easier.

**What do you like best about Minga?**

The all in one place aspect! I love that we house hall passes, praises, and guidances all in one place that's at the students' fingertips! The praise and guidance system was a huge boost to our PBIS system! We had paper guidances for level 1 offenses prior to Minga and going digital on the Minga platform made things so much easier and decreased behaviors! I could truly go on and on about how much Minga has helped our school!

**What do you dislike about Minga?**

Honestly going into this year, this is a hard question to answer. Prior to this year I would've said that it didn't put students in que for the restroom but that one negative has since been resolved and we're anxious to try out that feature going into this year.

**What problems is Minga solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Behavior. Hall passes. The amount of students in line. Paper "Bulldog Bucks" are no more. Teachers are utilizing the praises more. As I stated prior, we love the all in one place aspect! I love the parent connection Minga makes as well. We have had Minga for a year at the school and we can't wait to dive deeper into it this year. The guidances and parent communication reduced our level one behaviors tremendously. The hall passes limit the amount of students in one place at one time. And running our PBIS store online now is amazing!

**What do you like best about Minga?**

I really appreciate having the ability to limit the number of students outside of the classroom at a time, while also being able to limit who is out at the same time. I also really like the reward aspect. This has been super helpful for our teachers to boost participation. Also, we have noticed an increase in attendance by having students get rewarded by just checking into school on time. I also enjoy the feature of event check in, this has been helpful by keeping track of who actually is attending events.

**What do you dislike about Minga?**

I have really enjoyed all of the programs and the support Minga has provided. I am truly a huge fan. The only thing I wish would change is lowering the price a bit, but honestly the program is worth the cost. It has truly made a different on our campus.

**What problems is Minga solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have been able to solve fights on campus during class time and planned meet ups. The program has Party Group integrations that allow you to limit who is out at the same time. We have increase the amount of time back in class with this program.

**What do you like best about Minga?**

I absolutely love the support provided by the Minga team. They are always responsive, knowledgeable, and willing to help, whether it’s answering questions, assisting with setup, or providing ongoing support. Their customer service is outstanding.
The platform itself has been a game changer for our school. Minga provides the structure we need by streamlining everything from digital hall passes to discipline tracking, while also making it easy to recognize positive student behavior through rewards and address areas for improvement with appropriate consequences.
One of my favorite features is the ability to communicate with families about both the great things their children are doing and any behaviors that need to be addressed. It keeps everyone informed and strengthens the home-school partnership.
Overall, Minga is an all-in-one solution that has transformed the way we manage our school. In my opinion, it is the best school management system available today.

**What do you dislike about Minga?**

There is nothing that I dislike about Minga. It could be improved my creating a system for schools to structure substitutes that come into the building. The substitutes need to be able to use the hall pass system as well.

**What problems is Minga solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The Minga system is helping our school’s climate and culture. We are improving attendance and behaviors, which are critical areas of need for a high school.

**What do you like best about Minga?**

I love that Minga is very user-friendly, making it easy for teachers to use on both their phones and computers. Being able to see what students have done is a great feature. I find the process of giving and even taking away Minga points simple and effective. The use of badges is another feature I enjoy; we have different color lanyards based on discipline and behavior, which teachers can easily understand through the platform. Minga really touches on all the things we need in school. It significantly saves time when looking for students, increases classroom engagement time, and helps track student activities effectively. Seeing how many Minga points students have compared to their friends has been incredibly helpful in fostering a competitive and engaging environment.

**What do you dislike about Minga?**

I honestly don't dislike anything about it at all.

**What problems is Minga solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Minga to integrate separate systems into one, helping us track student movements and manage classroom engagement. It enhances our ability to reward students with Minga points, motivating positive behavior and providing a comprehensive view of student activities.

**What do you like best about Minga?**

This platform is like a Leatherman tool... it does SO MUCH very well.  Best - hall pass and pass tracking; PBIS opportunities; classroom groupings.  Tools I use almost every single day in my classroom.

**What do you dislike about Minga?**

Some of the various modules aren't fully synchronized with the other modules.  STILL working on understanding what a "pass" is - and how it should be better understood and measured inside MINGA.

**What problems is Minga solving and how is that benefiting you?**

MINGA gives me real, usable visibility on who is in my room at any given moment.  We get to track and reward positive behaviors.  We KNOW which staff members are or are not fully engaged with the platform.

**What do you like best about Minga?**

I love how organized and the customer service care that goes to improving the system overall. The student service department and my school site and I love how it tracks live data of active hall passes where students are. It gives more data and can keep staff and students accountable while reinforcing student engagement in a positive way.

**What do you dislike about Minga?**

One thing Minga could improve is its sync with Aeries. For the past two years, there has been a delay of two to three weeks before my students show up in my Classes tab in Minga.

**What problems is Minga solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Minga is helping us solve issues in real time, whether it’s hall pass problems, looking up data, or needing to add students and staff to the system.

**What do you like best about Minga?**

Minga has been a very helpful platform for organizing several schoolwide processes in one place. The interface is easy to navigate, and staff can quickly handle hall passes, tardies, behavior concerns, student praise, phone violations, Chromebook issues, and rewards without jumping between multiple systems. The platform provides useful information that supports consistent expectations and data-based decision-making. It also fits smoothly into our existing school procedures rather than feeling like an extra program.

The support and onboarding team has been responsive and collaborative, and they’ve been willing to help customize the platform to meet our school’s needs. Minga has been a valuable tool for improving efficiency, communication, and consistency across our school.

**What do you dislike about Minga?**

It does take time to determine the best way to use the system consistently across a school. Its effectiveness also depends heavily on staff buy-in and consistent implementation; when different teams use features differently, the data can become less meaningful. These are simply normal areas for improvement that are typically site based rather than major concerns, and the support team has been helpful when questions arise.

Minga brings hall passes, tardies, behavior concerns, and student recognition into one system. This helps me quickly identify patterns, coordinate interventions, and spend more time supporting students.

**What do you like best about Minga?**

Minga is a streamlined platform that is easy for students and teachers to use on a daily basis.  It is one program that has now replaced multiple platforms we were using in the past.  Integration with our SIS was seamless and I am very impressed with the updates that made consistently to improve the usability and performance of Minga. The customer service that Minga provides is second to none and truly makes implementation a breeze!

**What do you dislike about Minga?**

While Minga is costly, I know that it replaces multiple programs we have used in the past.  When you are talk about an education product, cost is always a factor.

**What problems is Minga solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In the past, teachers and students were having to access multiple platforms to meet the expectations of running a large school.  For instance, we had one program for tardies and another for flex time and yet a third for student communication/announcements.  Minga has allowed us to meet all of these needs with a single login.

**What do you like best about Minga?**

It makes assigning detentions much simpler and helps us track behavior in an easy, organized way, while also giving us a way to celebrate student successes.

**What do you dislike about Minga?**

I wish it were easier to pull specific data from Minga. Sometimes the data is really hard to find or track down. I’ve spoken to Minga about this, but they haven’t been able to adjust the system to make it possible.

Specifically, Minga mentioned using guidance to assign behaviors and consequences. However, when we do this, it becomes difficult to track who assigned the behavior. Then you can end up with multiple escalations and not be able to find where it originated, or you have to go through numerous reports just to locate the information.

**What problems is Minga solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We struggled with tracking paper passes and paper detentions, and Minga has solved that issue by moving us into a new age of technology. It’s a system that students like and find easy to use.

**What do you like best about Minga?**

It's a 1-stop shop for so many separate programs that my school used. It is giving us a centralized program to run everything from.  It's easy to use, and the support team is lights out when it comes to customer service. The best I've ever had in any educational entity.

**What do you dislike about Minga?**

The integration with Aeries is not yet fluid.  When that happens, Minga will be untouchable.

Passes and Flextime was where we needed to have an immediate solution.  We were using separate programs for both, and it was just not efficient. Minga is an all-in-one system to run these and more.

**What do you like best about Minga?**

I like that Minga has become a one-stop shop for our needs. We use it in so many ways at Richland High School, including for transforming our PBIS system, improving communication with families, and automating our RTI system with FlexTime. It's been transformational, allowing us to automate many processes that used to take up a lot of time. I also appreciate how Minga streamlines everything by consolidating different platforms, which reduces strain on our teachers, students, and families. The FlexTime feature is incredible, and incorporating hall passes, IDs, communication, and PBIS into a single platform made it a no-brainer choice for us. I can't say enough about how it packages data in a user-friendly manner, helping us intervene effectively. Overall, it's really been a game changer.

**What do you dislike about Minga?**

I think it's come a long way since we started using it. A year ago, the data piece wasn't as great as I wanted it to be, but they've improved a lot. My most recent frustration has been with the platform being a bit glitchy as they update it. For instance, I posted a challenge on our homepage, and while it was running, I couldn't post another challenge. Also, once the challenge closed, I couldn't find it in the history. I think some of this is me working things out, but it's something I'd expect to work well, especially with the product's price point. Additionally, it would be amazing if Minga could integrate with Skyward to avoid having to double-enter certain data.

**What problems is Minga solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Minga transforms our PBIS system, automates RTI and FlexTime, enhances communication, and manages student data efficiently. It streamlines complex processes, allowing us to focus more on instructional leadership and less on minor operational tasks.

**What do you like best about Minga?**

The best is knowing where students are with hallway passes, and that teachers and parents know how often students use the passes.

**What do you dislike about Minga?**

No downsides, except that if you are in a building that you want to give a student a tardy that you need an employee with the app on the phone to give them the infraction.

**What problems is Minga solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Minga is helping us with having students "gang up' in the bathroom as well as helping us with positive praise electronically instead of giving out "our REAL' dollars for positive prizes.

**What do you like best about Minga?**

It integrates well with our rostering system, which is very helpful for our Information Systems team. Also, feedback from the middle and high school campuses indicates that it has provided services well and consistently. The fact that Minga has worked directly with the campuses during support and/or onboarding has been a plus because it allowed the IT department to focus on other tasks.

**What do you dislike about Minga?**

If ever, given our ongoing budget constraints, I would say pricing. Like always, we all want better pricing/savings when conducting our businesses, so it is not criticism, just a reflection.

**What problems is Minga solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One of the biggest things is hallway management and the rewards system, which allows principals and staff, in general, to track students more effectively, while rewarding good behavior and making everybody happy.

I love that Minga constantly takes feedback and updates their system. Every year there is something new and valuable added to the program.

**What do you dislike about Minga?**

Recently my frustrations come from the my issues using the automation feature. I’ve been trying to get help on fixing the problem but we still haven’t had a chance to troubleshoot it.

The automations are not sending correctly. The message is stuck in a loop

It’s easy to use and navigate for staff and students alike.

Sometimes their are glitches with different aspects as well as our team points can’t reset each quarter and reflect on the leaderboard so staff and students can not get a quick glance to see which team is in the lead.

It really helps with daily tardy check-ins and automatically creates passes to class when students check in. Minga also enables me, as an ASB teacher, to get the information I need to students

When students are restricted, it generates a denial code when they request a hall pass- but no description of what the denial code is.  This is easy to find as school staff, but if it were easier for students to see it would further save time.

Accurate restroom usage data, along with a paperless, contactless pass system. It also supports lockout/blackout times for pass restrictions, event management, and check-ins and check-outs. Positive behavior point management is included as well, making it easy to track points and put them to use.

The initial setup can be a bit overwhelming, but the staff at Minga is awesome about assisting when I have questions. Other than that, it is a pretty seamless system.

**What do you like best about Minga?**

I appreciate the quick turnaround with customer service. If we have an issue, we can hop on to office hours, which are extremely helpful. The tools added for scheduling and giving points are useful, especially for managing where students need to be placed or for classroom activities. It allows us to assign points to all students or specific ones and schedule them for office hours. The student-facing platform looking like social media helps engage students. I find the way Minga allows assigning positive points and letting students cash them in reasonable.

**What do you dislike about Minga?**

Some of the ways we need to get students into things are super repetitive, where I have to create the office hours over and over again. I'm wondering if there could be AI or enhancements that create repeated scheduling to reduce the burden on teachers when it's a systematic scheduling task. The initial setup was pretty challenging too, and I had to work with customer support to get it integrated with Aeries. It involved creating structural frameworks and recopying them repeatedly, and if that could be improved, it would save a lot of time for future setups.  We love automations but would also appreciate a link to the grades so that we could link the grades to scheduling flextime interventions and communicate this to parents.

**What problems is Minga solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Minga for student sign-ups for flex hours and interventions, and it helps engage students with its social media-like platform. It simplifies assigning positive points and offers a comprehensive system for student rewards and activities.

I think that keeping up with tardies and the automations and different things that go with the tardy portion of Minga are really good.

**What do you dislike about Minga?**

I think when teachers write up kids, the kids shouldn't see what the teacher writes about them. That was a problem for me because it affects privacy between the administrator and teacher. Kids can go and see what teachers say and come up with stories to explain themselves, which is not ideal. Also, getting reports was challenging, especially at the end of the year. I don't know if the files are too big or what, but it was a major problem, and I didn't get much support. Another issue was the pricing, as it's just too high. Other products offer similar services for less money, and for me to justify the price, there need to be improvements.

We use Minga to keep track of kids in the hallways, limit meetups, and manage behavior through write-ups. I find the tardy tracking and automation features really good.

I love that I can assign roles and permissions as appropriate for our school so we can customize it easily. I like that there are so many different ways that we can improve accountability on our campus. And I like that it's fairly user-friendly. We've been able to get the platform going school-wide over the last two years. Minga helps us delegate roles, which builds efficient and sustainable systems, so we don't have to rely too heavily on any one person. Minga has been very supportive, and we've had a good experience.

**What do you dislike about Minga?**

We would like to have a better system on the kiosk so we could use tardies more effectively. Right now, we can't have kiosk mode on for both check-in and hall pass at the same time, which is challenging, especially since our school doesn't have a lot of interior hallways. Also, we're developing the tardy accountability system and need something that either syncs with Aeries or can be used more effectively to issue automations with tardies.

Most of the features are very user-friendly, and the software can be adapted to our individual needs. The company works with us to make sure we’re getting an experience that truly matches our needs and focus. I could go on...

**What do you dislike about Minga?**

The biggest downside is the cost. I previously worked at a larger school where we implemented the software, and it was fabulous, but that school’s budget could absorb the expense. Now that I’m finishing my career at a much smaller school, it simply can’t afford the cost in its budget. I would love to bring Minga to this new site and teach the staff here how to use it before I retire, but with only 200 students, it just doesn’t fit within our budget.

**What problems is Minga solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We initially implemented Minga as a digital ID system. As we learned more about what Minga could do, we expanded it into a much larger role across our school. We added features to help facilitate hallway movement, restroom use, health consultations, and more. The most exciting integration for us was developing a simple, easy way for our teachers to deliver positive reinforcement to students, while also keeping parents informed through Minga texts/emails about what a wonderful job their students were doing at school. So much of the communication to our students’ families can be negative, and Minga gave us an opportunity to be far more intentional about positive communication.
