Literally everything. It feels like the software was built in 2001 then never updated ever again. As a Brand Strategy Director, enabling my team to use our custom brand elements in PowerPoint is as easy as nailing jelly to a wall.

Custom fonts? Impossible.

Easy to use themes and color palettes? Heck no.

Support from Microsoft? Non existent

Enabling my team to perform at a high level? No way.

Sharing and collaboration? It's the worst.

Everyone on my IT team, everyone on my MSP team, knows PPT is impossible to use for modern brand teams.

Honestly? Morph.

Before it came along, making slides look dynamic meant wrestling with a dozen clunky entry and exit animations. With Morph, you just duplicate a slide, nudge things around, and it animates the movement naturally making you look like a pro motion designer with basically zero effort.

It turns normal, interesting people into corporate robots. The second anyone opens it, their brain defaults to bullet points, stiff jargon, and tiny boxes, killing whatever good story they actually wanted to tell. Microsoft PowerPoint has the adaptability to one of my favourite features. With PowerPoint, users may create a vast array of presentations, from straightforward and educational to intricate and eye-catching. Microsoft PowerPoint is still the most complete presentation software for professional work. The biggest advantage is the level of control it gives you over every aspect of a presentation: layouts, typography, charts, tables, images, animations, master slides and complex visual structures can all be edited exactly the way you need them.

For client presentations, consulting decks, pitch decks, investor presentations and other business-critical documents, that flexibility is extremely difficult to replace. PowerPoint is also such an established standard that sharing and collaborating with clients, colleagues and external partners is straightforward.

What has made the workflow even better for us is combining PowerPoint with Slaide as our AI presentation layer. We use Slaide to generate and structure presentations with AI and then continue working with the editable slides in PowerPoint. That combination gives us the speed of an AI presentation maker without sacrificing the flexibility and precision of PowerPoint. PowerPoint works extremely well with the rest of our stack because it is still the central format for professional presentations. The main weakness of PowerPoint is that creating a high-quality presentation from scratch can still be very time-consuming. PowerPoint gives you almost unlimited flexibility, but traditionally you have had to build the storyline, slide structure and much of the design manually.

We solve most of this problem by using Slaide alongside PowerPoint. Slaide handles much of the AI presentation generation and initial slide creation, while PowerPoint remains the environment where we finalize and fine-tune the deck. The AI-driven designer tool can be incredibly frustrating. It constantly suggests layout templates that look like tacky, outdated clipart from the early 2000s rather than clean, modern corporate designs. Collaborative co-authoring is also still a bit clunky compared to Google Slides; if two of us are tweaking the same slide in the desktop app, sync conflicts or minor formatting overrides happen way too often. It offers exceptionally strong onboarding through Microsoft's documentation, tutorials, help center, community forums, and enterprise support options.

It supports an excellent integration with Word, Excel, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, Outlook, Power BI, and other Microsoft 365 services.

I have used PowerPoint as a supervisor and RTM to create performance presentations, training decks and KPI reports for my team and management. Few things I liked most:

- Ready made templates saved a lot of time when I had to put together a performance or training presentation quickly

- Charts and graphs helped me present agent wise and team wise KPI data in a visual way that was easy for everyone to understand

- I used animations and transitions during training sessions to make the content more engaging and easy to follow

- Pulling data and charts directly from Excel saved me from manually copying anything, everything linked automatically

- Exporting to PDF made sharing presentations with management very quick without any formatting issues

A couple of things that could be improved. Formatting sometimes broke when opening a presentation on a different device or an older version of PowerPoint, which was quite frustrating right before an important meeting or training session. I’ve been using PowerPoint for years, and it’s still my go-to tool whenever I need to build a presentation.
