  ### 8. A Versatile Automation Tool with Room for Refinement

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adarsh P. | Business Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 12, 2025

**What do you like best about Microsoft Power Automate?**

What I like best about Microsoft Power Automate is its ability to streamline repetitive tasks and connect diverse systems without requiring extensive coding. Its user-friendly interface allows even non-developers to automate workflows efficiently, while its integration with Microsoft 365, Dynamics, and third-party applications makes it a powerful tool for improving productivity and reducing manual errors. I particularly appreciate its real-time triggers and approval flows, which help teams stay agile and responsive.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Power Automate?**

While Microsoft Power Automate is a powerful tool, one challenge I’ve encountered is the occasional complexity in debugging flows when errors occur. The error messages can sometimes be vague, requiring manual tracing through multiple steps to identify the issue. Additionally, while its integration options are broad, certain connectors have limitations or rate caps that can restrict more complex or high-frequency automation needs. However, these challenges are manageable with experience and Microsoft’s active support and documentation.

**What problems is Microsoft Power Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Microsoft Power Automate helps eliminate manual, repetitive tasks by automating workflows across applications. This reduces human error, saves time, and improves efficiency. For example, I’ve used it to automate approval processes, trigger notifications from forms, and sync data between Excel and SharePoint allowing teams to focus more on strategic work instead of admin tasks.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paola Z. | Gerente de Ingeniería de Procesos, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 07, 2025

**What do you like best about Microsoft Power Automate?**

What I like most about Power Automate is that it allows me to automate repetitive steps without having to keep track of everything. For example, as soon as a file is uploaded to a specific folder, the flow is triggered and it automatically shares it with the people who need to receive it. That has saved me a lot of time.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Power Automate?**

Some connectors with external services sometimes fail or require configurations that are not so intuitive. And if something breaks in the flow, finding the detail can take some time.

**What problems is Microsoft Power Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before, I had to be mindful of manually sending files to certain contacts. Now, with Power Automate, I can schedule the flows so that everything is done automatically, even with users outside the organization. It helps me not to forget tasks, reduce errors, and deliver the correct files on time.

  ### 11. Automating email responses for business users; to upload particular forms into excel and automate

**Reviewed Date:** June 14, 2025

**What do you like best about Microsoft Power Automate?**

It's simple to use, integrates well with other Microsoft apps like Teams, Outlook, and SharePoint, and saves time by automating repetitive tasks. An excellent tool for increasing output with little work.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Power Automate?**

Although Power Automate has promise, there are moments when it can be annoying.
The interface may be sluggish or confusing, and some flows may break without obvious error messages. More dependable performance and improved documentation would be very beneficial.

**What problems is Microsoft Power Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sending emails, handling approvals, updating spreadsheets, and syncing data between systems are just a few of the manual and repetitive tasks that Microsoft Power Automate helps automate.
This enables us to concentrate on higher-value work rather than repetitive procedures, which saves time, lowers human error, and increases productivity.

  ### 13. Streamlined Time-Off Requests with Microsoft Forms and Power Automate

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Samuel E. | Human Resources Coordinator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 13, 2025

**What do you like best about Microsoft Power Automate?**

When i started in the position i currently hold, i need to reduce the manual process in staff requesting time off and the approval process. So i resorted to using Microsoft forms integrated to Microsoft Excel with Microsoft Power Automate helping to automate the approval process as well as the communication.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Power Automate?**

It took some time to learning how it works.

**What problems is Microsoft Power Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ease time request approval for staff and remove time wasting for all parties involved.
It also gives transpoarency to how we track time off requests

  ### 14. Power Automate Features and Free Availability for Enterprise

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 12, 2025

**What do you like best about Microsoft Power Automate?**

I am able to send template-based emails along dynamic file uploads using Power Automate! It saves me plenty of time; Rather than uploading documents to individual emails (like sending respective certificates), I can create a flow to use a simple email template, and automatically send the respective certificates as pdf attachments out to people as per their individual email-id or name. I like to use it frequently to do many such kinds of automations. It easily gets integrated with other MS 365 apps.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Power Automate?**

It has a limitation with the free enterprise account: It sends out only 20 emails at a time, after that you need to re-run the flow and update the spreadsheet through which you are running the flow.
It is not easy to implement the automation flow at first, but once you get it running, it should work well.

**What problems is Microsoft Power Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is difficult to generate hundreds of certificates and send them to people individually by attaching them as pdf and sending them through emails. Instead, I use mail-merge to generate the certificates all-together, then I send them out using power automate. It runs on a Power Automate flow I've designed: using an email template I've provided it, dynamically pulls the names, emails and pdf names of the receivers from a spreadsheet, then sends those certificates out one by one to all those receivers through email, automatically, once I run the flow. It saves me plenty of hours which I would've spent on doing it manually instead.

  ### 15. Microsoft Hidden Gem

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Oscar E. | Market Risk Consultant, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2025

**What do you like best about Microsoft Power Automate?**

The best part is that it is fully integrated in the Microsoft ecosystem. For people who use any MS tools, the configuration will look familiar. It is flexible enough to build interesting flows, but not that complex so most users can play with it.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Power Automate?**

Non-MS tools are out of scope, so an automation is to be built on top of Automate for other tools.

**What problems is Microsoft Power Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I send Excel reports regularly through email. The automation of Outlook to Excel es very useful, it also leaves traceability.

  ### 16. Helpful for Automated Workflows, but Complex Data Structures Can Be Tricky

  ### 20. Boosting Productivity with Microsoft Power Automate

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 13, 2025

**What do you like best about Microsoft Power Automate?**

What I like best about Microsoft Power Automate is its ability to integrate seamlessly across the Microsoft 365 ecosystem and beyond. It connects tools like Excel, SharePoint, Outlook, and Teams without requiring heavy setup, which means I can design automated workflows quickly and with minimal friction. The extensive library of pre-built templates is a big time-saver, giving me a solid starting point for common tasks. On top of that, the drag-and-drop interface makes building flows intuitive—even for someone without deep coding knowledge.

Another aspect I value is its flexibility. Power Automate supports both cloud-based and desktop automation, so I can streamline processes across online services as well as legacy or local systems. This versatility allows me to handle everything from simple, repetitive tasks (like sending reminders or syncing files) to complex workflows that span multiple platforms.

Overall, it strikes the right balance between ease of use and depth of capability. Beginners can get up and running quickly, while advanced users can dive deeper with conditional logic, AI-driven actions, and custom connectors. It makes automation feel less like a “technical hurdle” and more like a natural extension of everyday work.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Power Automate?**

What I dislike about Microsoft Power Automate is that while it excels at enabling quick, simple automations, building more advanced workflows can feel challenging. When a process involves multiple conditions, loops, or custom API calls, the learning curve steepens considerably for users without technical backgrounds. The interface, while user-friendly for setup, doesn’t always make debugging intuitive — when a flow fails, it can take a fair amount of trial and error to pinpoint the exact issue.

Another drawback is performance. Cloud flows sometimes experience delays during peak usage, which impacts reliability for time-sensitive tasks. On the desktop side, automations may require reconfiguration after system or environment updates, which disrupts continuity.

Lastly, licensing can be a barrier. While the free and standard connectors are sufficient for basic workflows, many of the most powerful or business-critical connectors sit behind premium plans. For organizations scaling automation broadly, these costs can add up quickly and limit adoption.

**What problems is Microsoft Power Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Microsoft Power Automate is helping me eliminate repetitive, manual tasks by running automated workflows quietly in the background. It addresses some of the most common productivity bottlenecks, such as:

Data transfers between apps – for example, automatically moving information from Excel to SharePoint without manual copy-paste.

Routine communications – sending scheduled notifications, reminders, and follow-up emails so nothing slips through the cracks.

System synchronization – keeping records aligned across multiple platforms, avoiding duplicate effort and reducing inconsistencies.

Scheduled reporting – generating and sharing reports at set intervals without the need for manual intervention.

The impact has been significant: I save several hours each week, minimize the risk of human error, and ensure workflows run reliably even when I’m focused on other priorities. This consistency not only improves my individual efficiency but also accelerates overall team productivity by reducing turnaround time.

  ### 22. Automating approvals for software access

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 09, 2025

**What do you like best about Microsoft Power Automate?**

Microsoft Power Automate allows myself and my team to save time when it comes to managing access to specific software and documentation. Rather than messaging multiple people to await approvals, and deal with out of office messages, Microsoft power automate systemically generates access if specific requirements are met.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Power Automate?**

There is definitely a learning curve to the tool given there are people with non technological backgrounds on my team who prefer manually handling requests.

**What problems is Microsoft Power Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Initially, when we generated contracts and other key invoices for our billing team we would need to manually provide access due to security restrictions. Using Microsoft power automate, we input key rules into the workflow so that access will be given to the right people without having to spend the time manually requesting access. This saves us a tremendous amount of time and back-and-forth.

  ### 29. Amazing tool for sequenced Automation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jessica A. | Automation Consultant, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 24, 2025

**What do you like best about Microsoft Power Automate?**

Microsoft Power Automate Cloud is a great tool to automate Microsoft tools and connect them to third party applications easily. It can work as an automation tool or as a back end for SharePoint sites. It also includes process minding that is very helpful to define processes before automation and has now a built in copilot windows that helps draft actions or troubleshoot. The desktop version is a great solution for Screen Scrapping at a low cost.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Power Automate?**

I am not a big fan of the new IA, it makes copy and pasting actions a little difficult and mouse navication is though. The desktop version struggles with OCR, combo boxes and mainframe applications. It is also not build to handle volume and can easily bottle neck, causing bots that usually take 1 or 2 minutes to run for hours until they stop running

**What problems is Microsoft Power Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mass communication to teams helps the business keep contractors informed. It has helped augment gig hours per contractors and adherence. It also powers chatbots to take complex actions like adjusting schedules in a third party tool, reducing 3FTEs for internal support. **Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 05, 2025

**What do you like best about Microsoft Power Automate?**

What I really like about Power Automate is how it simplifies everyday tasks. Even without much technical background, I was able to set up workflows that saved me a ton of time—like automatically organizing files or sending reminders. It connects really smoothly with tools I already use, like Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams, which makes everything feel seamless. The templates are super helpful too, especially when you're just getting started.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Power Automate?**

The one thing that can be frustrating is when a flow breaks and you’re not exactly sure why. It’s not always easy to troubleshoot errors, especially with more complex setups. Also, while it’s great for basic tasks, once you start building more advanced automations, it gets a bit technical. The pricing can be a little confusing too, especially if you’re trying to scale it across a team.

**What problems is Microsoft Power Automate solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Power Automate helps me get rid of a lot of repetitive, manual tasks—things like sending follow-up emails, organizing data from forms, or updating spreadsheets. Instead of doing those things one by one, I can just set up a flow and let it run in the background. It’s saved me a lot of time and reduced the chances of missing something important. It also helps keep everything consistent, which is especially useful when working across teams or with different tools.
