## Maia Reviews
 ### 1. Maia Makes Onboarding Fast with an Intuitive UI and Low-Code Pipelines

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anthony S. | Lead Data Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Maia?**

I cannot overstate the quality of maia for being picked up by new users. Between the UI and the integration with the ai, along with the low code pipelines and the simple layout of integration connectors, it makes the process of onboarding new members of the team really fast. In our team we have had a complete novice apprentice and somebody who has pivoted from doing data analysis but never done any engineering before. They have both been able to get up to speed and creating high quality data pipelines that are efficient and highly performant within a very short timeframe.

**What do you dislike about Maia?**

Maia (the ai part) could be expanded to make it really powerful by using information already within the platform such as execution times etc to enable real world optimisation of the pipelines based on lowering the run times which ultimately is what drives the cost.

**What problems is Maia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Along with the benefits of getting up to speed, Maia is super helpful for long coding exercises and understanding errors when they occur and trying to resolve them. This offers us a great efficiency.

 ### 2. Maia Scaled 800+ Pipeline Migrations Without Added Overhead

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Keith G. | Senior Data Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 04, 2026

**What do you like best about Maia?**

Maia helped us scale delivery across 800+ pipeline migrations without adding overhead.
What stood out with Maia was how it helped us mature into a more robust CI/CD process rather than just improving individual pipelines. It enabled us to take generated transformations and integrate them into a structured Git-driven workflow, with consistent versioning, promotion, and automated actions. That shift is what made the approach scale across hundreds of pipelines instead of breaking down under volume. It also reduced the day-to-day operational overhead, which freed up time for more exploratory work instead of repetitive pipeline management.

**What do you dislike about Maia?**

A limitation is that Maia depends on having the right context and setup to be effective. Early on, working with limited context—before building out stronger skills and patterns—led to inconsistent results. It requires upfront investment in structuring context and workflows to get consistent outcomes.

**What problems is Maia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was involved in evaluating and proving out Maia ahead of a migration of 800+ pipelines, including Informatica workloads, where the real challenge was operationalizing pipelines at scale.
Before Maia, getting pipelines production-ready is where most of the friction sat. Generated outputs didn’t fit cleanly into our CI/CD process, and aligning them with Git workflows took extra effort. That slowed promotion across environments and made it harder to keep changes consistent as volume increased.
With Maia, we were able to integrate generated pipelines into a Git-backed CI/CD workflow with automated actions. Instead of treating pipelines as one-off artifacts, we could version, iterate, and promote them consistently. Running deployments through native Snowflake app runners also kept execution aligned to Snowflake, which simplified data sovereignty and avoided introducing external dependencies. The result was a more repeatable delivery process—we were able to move a large volume of pipelines forward without adding proportional operational overhead.

 ### 3. Maia Allows Small Teams To Punch Well Above Their Weight

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** anthony W. | Analytics Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 04, 2026

**What do you like best about Maia?**

Contextual intelligence: Maia reads my existing pipelines, understands my Snowflake schema, and suggests components that match my established patterns instead of generic boilerplate.

Component discovery: Rather than browsing through hundreds of connectors and transformations, I can describe my goal and Maia finds the right low-code component, configures it, and validates it against my warehouse in seconds.

Iterative building with live sampling: I can ask Maia to build a transformation, then immediately sample the output data to confirm it’s correct and refine it conversationally. What used to take multiple deploy-test cycles now happens within a single chat session.

Reduces context-switching: Writing SQL, looking up column names, checking table structures, and configuring components all happen in one place. When it needs to verify something, it queries my warehouse directly.

Maia serves as living documentation: I can ask it to explain any pipeline in my project, and it reads the YAML and gives me a clear summary of what it does and why. It’s been especially helpful for onboarding teammates onto unfamiliar pipelines.

**What do you dislike about Maia?**

Initially, one pain point with Maia was that it had a hard time identifying API endpoints, so I ended up writing and testing them manually in Postman. That has since been fixed, and it now gives really solid recommendations for API endpoints and can handle them with ease.

Another early issue was that, after a certain number of attempts to figure something out, Maia would basically stop trying to fix the problem and refuse to work on it anymore. This has also been resolved, and Maia is now able to solve engineering problems much more smoothly.

**What problems is Maia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before Maia, we struggled to take on deep data engineering work, especially the software engineering needed to build reliable pipelines. We’re a small team made up primarily of analysts, and Maia has let us punch well above our weight by handling much of that data engineering and software engineering work for us.

Maia has also delivered considerable time and cost savings. Previously, we hired a consultancy to create two pipelines, which cost £15k and took eight weeks. Maia created those same pipelines in a single day. After that, all that remained was another day of work for one of our analysts to verify the data was correct and to fine-tune the pipelines.

All of the above means our analysts can focus on the meaningful work which AI cannot yet do such as creating semantic models.

 ### 4. Maia Is My Go-To Data Engineering Partner for Development, Discovery, QA, and Standards

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alex B. | Cloud Data Engineer III, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Maia?**

I love the ability to create context files that I can put into all of my projects so that it can check for certain standards I define so that when other developers on my team are doing something I know Maia will help them do it in the way I want. I also love its ability to quickly go over exisiting pipelines and add in pipeline documentation. It's API creation tool is very useful also, greatly speeding up setting up pulling from a new API.

**What do you dislike about Maia?**

I dislike that I cannot manage context files/rules accross projects, causing lots of work to update accross projects everytime I make a change. I also don't like how sometimes it does not even know the capabilities it has and the matillion documentation website ai does better than it does.

**What problems is Maia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Maia solves issues of doing very repetitive tasks. For example I have a bunch of pipelines in a project, I worked with Maia to make it more robust with retries added and more error messaging. Then once I had the pipeline how I wanted it I asked Maia to do this for other pipelines in the project for me. It also greatly speeds up data discovery and setting up new API calls. I feel like Maia pays for itself easily, making me feel like I can do way more in less time.

 ### 5. Maia saved me hours I didn’t know I was losing.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Swarnim S. | TPM, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Maia?**

As a Technical Product Manager, I was constantly dependent on data analysts for basic product usage queries. With Maia, I now get answers in minutes using natural language, no SQL required. The time I spend waiting on data requests has dropped by roughly 40-50%.

The natural language querying feature is where Maia really earns its place. I use it weekly to pull product usage metrics and prep stakeholder reports. Being able to ask a dataset a plain English question and get a structured, reference-able output has made me genuinely self-sufficient in a way I wasn’t before.

**What do you dislike about Maia?**

One honest limitation: connecting our custom data sources during onboarding took longer than I expected, and the setup documentation could be clearer—especially for non-technical admins.

**What problems is Maia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Maia removes that bottleneck. I can now ask questions about product usage, client engagement, and pipeline performance in plain English, and get structured answers within minutes. That kind of speed matters when you’re moving fast as a startup and need to make data-informed decisions without a full data team behind you.

The value for me is both speed and independence. I spend less time stuck in request queues and more time acting on the insights I’m getting. For a founder-led team building an enterprise AI product, that operational efficiency adds up quickly and keeps momentum high.

 ### 6. Maia’s AI Saves Time and Makes Pipeline Troubleshooting Easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Malachi N. | Data Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Maia?**

Maia’s AI features save me a lot of time when planning and developing data pipelines. They’re also very helpful for troubleshooting and diagnosing pipeline failures when something goes wrong.

**What do you dislike about Maia?**

The web UI can occasionally get buggy, and I sometimes have to refresh the page just to link components. It’s a minor problem overall, but it feels more like an inconvenience than a serious issue.

**What problems is Maia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Maia has been a strong support in developing our cloud data warehousing solutions. Specifically, the move to Maia's Data Productivity Cloud has reduced our reliance on both on-premises databases and databases hosted on virtual machines.

It has also streamlined day-to-day data warehouse management and ongoing maintenance. The UI makes it easier for less experienced users to build data pipelines and implement warehouse transformations, instead of depending so heavily on complex SQL scripting.

 ### 7. Maia Makes Matillion Pipeline Building Easier for New Users

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris C. | Data Engineering Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 04, 2026

**What do you like best about Maia?**

Maia dramatically decreases the learning curve for new Matillion users. Translating the desired functionality into the relevant pipeline components can be daunting for new users, and Maia simplifies that.
Licensed-based billing is also a cost advantage over token-based, especially when developing new processes and pipelines.

**What do you dislike about Maia?**

My primary critique is a more general critique of AI products in general. It seems virtually impossible to gauge the environmental and human impact of developing and using tools like Maia.
It's a fantastic tool, but I'll find it difficult to fully endorse it, it any other AI tools, if the efficiencies they provide are generated at significant expense to communities and ecosystems

**What problems is Maia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Maia makes developing new pipelines, applying standards, and scaling existing pipelines to new data sources much faster, simpler, and more consistent

 ### 8. Faster Development, Rapid Error Diagnosis, and Deep Pipeline Understanding with Maia

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Logistics and Supply Chain | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 18, 2026

**What do you like best about Maia?**

What I like most about Maia(Both AI and Matillion DPC this has both reviews) is value the rich availability of components easy to integrate to major colud, API's and the fact that it's all in one packed product. Instead of stitching together one tool for extraction, another for transformation, another for scheduling, and yet another for lineage, I get all of those capabilities in a single platform. That breadth makes a real difference day to day — fewer integrations to manage, a consistent experience across the whole pipeline lifecycle, and everything I need in one place.
is its ability to quickly diagnose errors and reverse-engineer complex pipelines. Tasks that might take a human several hours to analyze can often be completed by Maia in just a few minutes. This significantly speeds up troubleshooting and helps me understand complicated workflows much faster.

Having worked with other ETL tools, Matillion's support really stood out for me. They have a well-organized support process — you can file a ticket and the regional support team responds on a priority basis, and they'll even schedule a call to work through and resolve the issue. That level of responsiveness is something I haven't consistently seen elsewhere, and it makes a big difference when you're on a deadline.

Maia has also become a valuable part of my development process. While I don't use it for 100% of my development work, I frequently use it to brainstorm ideas, validate my development approach, and evaluate different implementation options. It acts as a collaborative partner that helps me think through solutions more effectively.

Another feature I find particularly powerful is its memory and context capabilities. Being able to store business knowledge as context and pair that information with Maia's intelligence leads to much more relevant and insightful responses. I've noticed that the quality of the output improves significantly when Maia can leverage both technical context and business knowledge together.

I also appreciate how simple and conversational the interface is. The chat-based experience makes it easy to ask questions, explore ideas, and iterate on solutions without needing to navigate complex tools or workflows.

Additionally, Maia's access to backend Snowflake metadata and data platform context makes its responses much more accurate and relevant. Because it can leverage the underlying table structures, lineage, and metadata, the guidance it provides is often more precise and actionable than what a general-purpose AI assistant could offer.

**What do you dislike about Maia?**

This has both revies Maia(Ai and Matillion DPC now calling as Maia)
One area where Maia could be improved is support for file uploads directly within the chat experience. Being able to upload images, CSV files, spreadsheets, or other documents would make it much easier to provide additional context and business knowledge quickly. I understand that some of these capabilities are available through Mission Control, but having them integrated directly into the Maia chat interface would create a more seamless user experience.

Another limitation is that, to the best of my knowledge, Maia does not yet have access to all areas of the Matillion platform. For example, access to Activity data and pipeline execution history could significantly improve its ability to analyze past runs, identify trends, diagnose failures, and assess overall pipeline health. Expanding Maia's visibility across the entire platform would make it an even more powerful assistant for both troubleshooting and operational monitoring.

My main concern is around pricing. I'd really like more transparency and predictability on cost, and I'm hoping Maia stays bundled with Matillion DPC. If Maia's AI capabilities start getting charged separately on top of DPC, that could change the value equation for teams and make some clients reconsider their options. Keeping it included would be a huge differentiator; pricing it as a separate add-on is something I'd watch closely.

Overall, Maia is already a highly valuable tool, but broader platform access and richer context-sharing capabilities would take its effectiveness to the next level.

**What problems is Maia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One of the biggest problems Maia is solving for me is reducing the time and effort required to understand complex pipelines that were developed by other team members, especially when those developers are no longer part of the current engagement.

A recent example is my work migrating pipelines from METL to DPC. Before making any changes, I need to understand how the existing pipelines work, their dependencies, data flow, and business purpose. Traditionally, this would require spending a significant amount of time manually analyzing jobs, SQL, and documentation. Maia accelerates this process by helping me reverse-engineer the pipelines, understand their logic, identify dependencies, and determine the impact of proposed changes.

This allows me to quickly prioritize what needs to be migrated first, identify optimization opportunities, and make informed decisions about where to start. As a result, I can spend less time on discovery and analysis and more time on actual development and modernization work.

More broadly, Maia helps bridge knowledge gaps when documentation is limited or when historical project knowledge is no longer readily available. It enables me to become productive much faster and reduces the risk associated with modifying or migrating complex data pipelines.

 ### 9. Maia unlocks portal to the world of fully automated solution design

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Srinivasan S. | Senior Manager - Analytics & Reporting, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Maia?**

Overall, the product feels well designed and intuitive to use. I was genuinely impressed by how Maia could automatically pull user requirements from Jira/Azure DevOps and then begin building code to address the problem. Seeing the solution take shape in real time was an amazing experience, and it made the whole process feel smooth and surprisingly natural. The whole process hardly took a few minutes to complete as compared to what would have taken hours for someone manually solving the problem.

**What do you dislike about Maia?**

In practice, not every solution will end up fully automated, and some items will still need to move through manual workflows. What hasn’t been clear to me is how to clearly distinguish or segment what’s being built by Maia versus what’s being handled manually within the native Jira/Azure DevOps platform.

**What problems is Maia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One of the main issues with developing BI and analytics solutions is that requirements are hard to interpret and often undergo multiple iterations of back and forth between developers and business users. Maia is able to use knowledge graphs to interpret the requirements and kick of automated builds that drastically cuts down the time spent between multiple iterations.

 ### 10. AI Assistant for Data Pipeline Efficiency

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pallav S. | Data Solutions, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 04, 2026

**What do you like best about Maia?**

I use Maia as a virtual data engineer assistant for creating data pipelines, debugging errors, and providing suggestions. It's trained on platform-specific functionality and most of the time, responses are highly accurate. I appreciate that we can upload project context which gives the agent enough context and project-specific knowledge, so we don’t need to repeat the structure, coding standards, or other details. The integration with Jira is great because it helps organize project requirements and set priorities, which Maia then implements. The initial setup of Maia was pretty straightforward and intuitive.

**What do you dislike about Maia?**

I have not fully exploited all the functionality maia has to offer but so far have no complaints. We are currently in implementation phase, so there is no more to discover.

**What problems is Maia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Maia as a virtual data engineer assistant for creating data pipelines and converting Alteryx workflows into SQL. It saves time by reducing manual efforts in debugging errors and reading documentation which would otherwise take several man-days.

 ### 11. Accelerated Our Workflow with Robust Features

**Reviewed by:** gamya n. | Senior Data Scientist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Maia?**

What I like about maia is its ability to provide quick, conversational responses, and make complex information understandable. Although am still exploring the platform and have not used it extensively yet, my initial impression is that it offers intuitive ways to find information, brainstorm ideas and learn about new topics without haing to searcg through multiple resources. I am looking forward to spending more time exploring maia and its capabilities. Thanks!

**What do you dislike about Maia?**

Sure. So, I haven’t used it extensively enough to identify any significant dislikes yet. If I had to mention one area of improvement, it would be making it easier for new users to understand all features and use cases when getting started.

**What problems is Maia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As someone working in data and analytics space, I believe it can help save time when researching topics, learning new concepts, brainstorming solutions or getting a starting point for technical work. **What do you like best about Maia?**

We use Matillion Maia for enterprise-scale data ingestion and have been very happy with it. The platform is fast, easy to use, and helped us integrate hundreds of data sources into a single data warehouse. It has made our data integration process much more efficient and reliable. We liked most the automatic transformation of etl pipelines build on low code tools.

**What do you dislike about Maia?**

Not much, While some advanced administration features could be improved and costs need to be monitored at scale, these have not outweighed the strong performance and ease of use we have experienced.

**What problems is Maia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Maia helps us solve the challenge of integrating and managing data from hundreds of different sources. Before using it, building and maintaining data pipelines required significant manual effort. With Maia, we can onboard new data sources much faster, improve data reliability, and provide a single, trusted view of our data in the warehouse. This has reduced operational overhead and enabled our teams to access the data they need more quickly for reporting and analytics.

 ### 13. Revolutionized Our Data Pipeline Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Julia L. | Business Intelligence Architect, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Maia?**

I really appreciate Maia for its ability to help with production support issues and debug pipeline failures by providing analysis and context-driven solutions. It's been a great partner in accelerating ideas into production, and it cuts down the time to look into issues from hours to minutes by efficiently referencing context, environment, metadata, logs, and data. I also like how it assists in creating better error handling and alerting, which speeds up troubleshooting and support work.

**What do you dislike about Maia?**

Maia could improve with sharing context across various projects to avoid redundancy and rework to teach Maia the same thing across different projects. There were some features that didn’t translate over from Matillion ETL to Maia, and it wasn’t easy because of that, requiring a substantial level of effort to validate and verify.

**What problems is Maia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Maia to plan and build resilient data pipelines. It helps in all parts of the SDLC, accelerates tasks, supports debugging, and improves error handling. It cuts issue resolution time from hours to minutes with context-driven analysis.

 ### 14. Maia Makes My Team More Efiecient

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robert M. | Manager, IT Data and Development, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about Maia?**

Maia helps my team create and maintain data pipelines every day. It’s straightforward to use, and it keeps everyone aligned and on task while making it easy to uphold our standards and conventions. Maia's performance is great and the quality of what it produces is really good.

**What do you dislike about Maia?**

Right now, it doesn’t have access to Matillion job run logs. Adding that would be a great improvement, since it could then analyze poorly performing pipelines and suggest ways to optimize them.

**What problems is Maia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Maia helps us build and maintain pipelines every day. It also helps us dig into failures, suggesting fixes and improvements so we can keep things running smoothly.

 ### 15. Matillion Delivers High Performance and a Truly Collaborative Partnership

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Maia?**

We ran proof-of-concept evaluations with several vendors and ultimately chose Matillion for a few key reasons. Over a three-week testing period, we worked through an extensive set of test cases and were impressed by the platform’s data throughput and overall performance. Their AI assistant, Maia, also stood out as a major differentiator.

Just as important, we wanted to partner with a company that aligns with our long-term goals, especially after less positive experiences with previous vendors. The Matillion team set themselves apart with a collaborative approach and a genuine commitment to building a lasting relationship, rather than focusing only on the initial sale. Nearly a year later, they continue to be highly responsive to our questions and evolving needs, which reinforces our confidence that we made the right choice.

**What do you dislike about Maia?**

There are a few features we’d still like to see, but their team has been working closely with us to get the enhancements we’re looking for added to the roadmap. A few have already been delivered, and others are expected in the next quarter.

**What problems is Maia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We’re able to move from requirements to implementation much faster now. With our old tools, it took significantly longer to get changes into production than it does with Matillion.

 ### 16. Maia Streamlines My Workflow with Clear, Context-Rich Summaries

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ankit G. | Senior Member Technical, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2026

**What do you like best about Maia?**

Maia has helped streamline that process by bringing relevant information together in a single workflow. One feature I use frequently is its ability to summarize and synthesize information from multiple sources while maintaining the necessary context.

**What do you dislike about Maia?**

For highly specialized technical topics or areas that require deep organizational context, I still validate the outputs and occasionally need to supplement them with additional research. However, for day-to-day productivity and knowledge discovery, Maia has become a useful part of my workflow.

**What problems is Maia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As an Engineering Director leading globally distributed teams, I spend a significant amount of time reviewing project updates, analyzing technical documentation, and preparing for leadership discussions. Before using Maia, a lot of this work involved manually searching across multiple sources, consolidating information, and validating context before making decisions.

 ### 17. Maia Cut Our Development Cycle by Up to 4x in Production

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rob B. | Principal Solutions Architect, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 04, 2026

**What do you like best about Maia?**

Maia has proven effective in real production use, helping us reduce our overall development cycle by up to 4x across design, build, testing, and even documentation.

**What do you dislike about Maia?**

Maia is still limited to standard components. More complex logic (e.g., custom SQL or edge cases) requires manual implementation, and monitoring pipelines remains a manual step.

**What problems is Maia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With a traditional ETL developer role, our focus is mostly on creating pipelines. With MAIA, it really helps us upskill and become Data Engineer/Analyst, understand the data better, and provide higher value to the organization.

 ### 18. Revolutionized Our ELT with AI Assistance

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

I really like the ability to use Maia’s AI tool for development. It’s a great help when I get stuck or encounter errors because instead of having to search online for solutions, I can just ask Maia to assist me in fixing the issue. Another thing I appreciate is how Maia helps test my pipelines, and when errors pop up, it aids me in debugging and resolving them.

**What do you dislike about Maia?**

Sometimes you have to refresh the screen to be able to join components. Without doing that it doesn’t let you connect components.

**What problems is Maia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Maia connects to various data sources and loads data to Snowflake, while its AI tool helps me test pipelines and fix errors, improving productivity.

 ### 19. Exceptional AI Assistant for Data Engineering

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Maia?**

I find the AI assistant in Maia far better than any others we've used, especially since it's focused on data engineering, helping it excel in that area. It has the capability to access your environment and identify issues that you might not even think to check for. I used the assistant to learn how to use the platform, and it also aids in building pipelines, converting from old systems, troubleshooting, and a lot more. Using Maia was very easy for my team.

**What do you dislike about Maia?**

The custom connectors (API calls) could use some improvement. They don’t allow PATCH or DELETE methods, which we rarely use. It’s also difficult to test from the connector itself.

**What problems is Maia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Maia for data integration to speed up projects, assist with testing, and streamline the entire process. The AI assistant excels in data engineering, helping me find issues and build pipelines efficiently.

 ### 20. Maia Turns Simple English Into Clean, Accurate Code—A True Game-Changer

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Praveen M. | Sr. Informatica Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2026

**What do you like best about Maia?**

Maia has completely transformed the way I build code and pipelines. I can describe what I want in simple English, and it instantly turns those instructions into clean, working code. The speed is incredible, and the accuracy saves me hours of manual effort. It feels like having a highly skilled engineer translating my ideas into reality in seconds. Truly a game‑changer.

**What do you dislike about Maia?**

The interface is really new and little tough to get used to it. But I will get there, when I get used to it

**What problems is Maia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Complex coding overhead — Writing boilerplate code, setting up functions, or structuring pipelines can be slow and repetitive.

Maia can help us solve and build out continuous monitoring tools that help us keep compliance in terminations etc.

 ### 23. User-Friendly but Needs Improved Logging Features

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2026

**What do you like best about Maia?**

I like that Maia is easy to use. The initial setup of Maia was easy. The team was able to grasp it and see the value of it rather quickly. One of the most valuable tools that Maia has is creating a context document, which is super helpful because I don't have to explain the same thing over and over for it to form a text.

**What do you dislike about Maia?**

The job log in Maia used to show all the details but now it doesn't. We have to ask Maia for details of progress, like what tables were loaded and how many records were loaded in each.

**What problems is Maia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Maia for our ETL pipelines, helping us assess daily issues quickly. Its ease of use and the context document tool save me time from repeatedly explaining tasks.

 ### 24. Maia’s Intuitive UI Makes ETL Pipeline Building Straightforward

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Maia?**

As someone new to data engineering, I find the Maia UI very intuitive and a straightforward way to express the logic I have in mind when building the ETL pipelines I create.

**What do you dislike about Maia?**

I had an issue with a matillion hosted agent because we were overloading it with pipeline runs. It turns out there is a solution for this, however, having this more readily available would have made our lives easier.

**What problems is Maia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Maia is helping us streamline our ETL process and efficiently load data into our data warehouse.

I liked a lot the Mission Control, linked to Jira. It's very interesting how you can manage agents doing multiple tasks. And this helps us to scale the data ingestion without increasing proportionaly the overhead costs.

**What do you dislike about Maia?**

I think the only risk we have is that using the tool for managing the whole life cycle is that we may be locked in with the platform.

It makes easier to create, review and manage pipelines.

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Maia?**

I enjoyed the legacy ETL migration. It not only saved time but made the process consistent - key for companies with multiple workers focusing on migration.

**What do you dislike about Maia?**

Was not able to necessarily pick something that I did not like. Still much to explore. I guess it would be tough for me to understand how to best use the context engine product without a tech rep available

A big issue is consistency of processes. We struggle using similar templates for our architecture transformations let alone following the right procedures.

**What do you like best about Maia?**

Since my last update, I’m really impressed with how they’ve integrated AI components, allowing us to process data using LLMs directly in the pipeline.

The move to the Data Productivity Cloud is also a huge plus, as the serverless setup means we no longer have to manage backend infrastructure.

Finally, the enhanced Git integration has made it much easier for our team to collaborate on complex projects without stepping on each other's toes.

**What do you dislike about Maia?**

While Git integration has improved, setting up fully automated, enterprise-grade deployment pipelines still feels more manual and complex than it should be.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Syed A. | Data Engineer, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 13, 2025

**What do you like best about Maia?**

Matillion's simple UI makes user comfortable to configure and easy to understand the flow. And it's well maintained configuration section is a big plus for this platform. So even new users can easily understand this platform's features and design. Additionally Matillion providing learning materials and courses for beginners to understand their tool and the topics in the course also few, because they teaching only necessary topics which can help beginners to work in their platform as a professional.

**What do you dislike about Maia?**

Matillion doing good in their pathway of Data Engineering, but some drawbacks I have noticed is it's API limitations. Basically Matillion providing API to retrieve metadata from their system, but when it's come to Administrative API's which is something administrator access only features they not provided sufficient APIs for that. And one more dislike in it's designer console, some of the components are working as expected.

**What problems is Maia solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Basically Matillion is a ETL tool which works as usual in the Data Engineering field. But apart from that it has many advantages related to Administrative features. They are having a hub which serves billing data in a decent way. Basically teaching a technology/tool to beginners is a big headache especially in Data Engineering, because here everyone is working on top of data only. If anything goes wrong then the whole production got trouble. So in this scenario Matillion solves the teaching in a simple way as they are providing courses to learn their tools and also they are providing free trials to practice the learning. This is a very good initiative from Matillion. And the courses also very simple and contains required details only about the tool. This will stop beginners to lead to confusions, because of required content.

**Official Response from Emily Quinn:**

> Hi,

Thank you for your detailed feedback on our user interface and learning materials. We're glad to hear that you find the UI simple and the learning resources helpful. We appreciate your feedback on the API limitations and designer console, and we'll take this into consideration for future improvements.

Thanks again for being part of the Matillion community — we’re excited to see what you achieve next!

Better API access for pulling job history and average run times.
Git integraton is kind of clunky for larger teams

Helping us expand our data warehouse and quickly add new sources
