# Which encryption software integrates transparently with enterprise productivity suites like Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace?

We've been trying to find encryption software that integrates transparently with enterprise productivity suites like Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace platforms. We run a hybrid environment and every tool we've looked at so far handles one well and creates friction in the other. Here is what we're hoping to find in the encryption software category:

Native integration with both Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace without separate portals or apps

Encryption that applies automatically without requiring user action on every send or save

Admin controls that work within existing IT governance and directory structures

Minimal impact on collaboration features like sharing, commenting, and co-editing

A few platforms we thought are worth considering:

Virtru Email Encryption: Works directly inside Gmail and Outlook without disrupting existing workflows. Does the experience stay equally seamless when users collaborate across both environments?

Microsoft BitLocker: Native to Windows and deeply embedded in Microsoft 365 with minimal overhead. Does it cover enough of the encryption surface for teams working heavily in Google Workspace too?

Keeper Password Manager: Browser extension that works across both environments for credential and file security. How transparent is the experience for non-technical end users?

Tresorit: Integrates into Outlook and Gmail for encrypted email and file workflows. Does collaboration stay as smooth as native OneDrive or Drive once it's in the workflow?

If you've rolled out encryption across a team using both Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, how did you handle the integration gaps? Which tool created the least friction day to day?

For hybrid Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace environments, the least friction usually comes from encryption that works inside the tools employees already use rather than forcing a separate portal. I’d prioritize policy-based encryption, directory integration, admin controls, audit logs, and a consistent user experience across Gmail, Outlook, Drive, and OneDrive workflows.
