Also the fact that it is all in browser and there is no need to install any software. **What do you dislike about MarkMagic?** Nothing in particular, there are some small bugs, but it is overall very cohesive and even using it daily, it is easy to integrate for whatever reasons I use it for. **What problems is MarkMagic solving and how is that benefiting you?** Being able to print labels quickly and customize printjobs to eliminate time that would otherwise be spent doing all of this ### 4. It has been a pleasure doing so as the software is customizable and well suited for use on IBM i platforms. **What do you dislike about MarkMagic?** We have rarely faced development issues with MarkMagic. When recommending the software and in final quotations, there may be pushback from customers on pricing. I believe other applications such as Bartender are less expensive but are not as useful for enterprise printing. In that regard, MarkMagic may not be for everyone. **What problems is MarkMagic solving and how is that benefiting you?** Many times our clients will approach us with a specific printing need. For example, needing to export shipping labels as PDFs from their WMS in order to work with dropshippers. We were happy to know MarkMagic can handle tasks such as this, which saved the client enormous amounts of money and resources by not having to print the labels. Needless to say, the client was thrilled. ### 5. After you have the forms designed the way you want them it is a set it and forget it product. I never have any issues with the product. It works well and creates great looking forms. We produce hundreds of documents using MarkMagic every single day and never have an issue. **What do you dislike about MarkMagic?** No real issues. I do wish the JMagic designer was a little more modern and easier to use. **What problems is MarkMagic solving and how is that benefiting you?** Creation of forms for the IBM i. ### 6. As someone who is self taught using it, it was intuitive to pick up. **What do you dislike about MarkMagic?** Not sure about later versions, but custom packingslips were always a pain do to the 30 character text limit. Lots of moving around to get it to look correct. What you see in the software doesn't always line out on how it prints. **What problems is MarkMagic solving and how is that benefiting you?** Mark Magic was able to assist us in the upgrade process from 7.0 to 9.5 in our WMS software. **Official Response from Phil Andrianos:** > Thanks for the feedback Sean! It has been a big win win for both our customers and ourselves. We are better off being able to provide our customers with a powerful label printing tool that can be reused rather than having to outsource client's needs over and over. **What do you dislike about MarkMagic?** Via some of our customers - more editing tools on the front end is needed for next versions. **What problems is MarkMagic solving and how is that benefiting you?** Markmagic significantly improves the ability for companies to edit and maintaing their labels. This may sound simple but in reality far too many companies are editing XML files manually which is obviously laborious and prone to errors. Markmagic makes the process much smoother overall. ### 8. The support has been excellent. **What do you dislike about MarkMagic?** Where I have run into problems with MarkMagic is in using 2D barcodes. The time to generate 2D barcodes is substantially longer than a similar 1D linear barcode. Also, have had issues with getting images formatted properly for use on forms. **What problems is MarkMagic solving and how is that benefiting you?** MarkMagic allows us to generate labels via our ERP platform realtime on the production floor. ### 10. It also eliminates the chances of running into press downtime by seeing how much you have of all your supplies at any point throughout the day. ### 11. Since it was built for integration, it is an ideal product to recommend to customers. **What do you dislike about MarkMagic?** I know you can use Markmagic with Mac products but you can’t use the designer on a Mac. Certainly something that needs to be addressed. **What problems is MarkMagic solving and how is that benefiting you?** It alleviates the headache of users having to edit labels or packages manually. This is a big benefit for any users who are generating large amounts of labels like distributors or retail manufacturers. ### 12. Our product label printing can be done without extensive manual editing. We don’t have to edit ZPL or anything like that. And, also has more powerful automation features. Deployment was a breeze: Since MMPI is web based, all of our users (remote and on-prem), had immediate access to printing and PDF. Over the last 6 months our non-technical team began leveraging MarkMagic Conditions to handle customer specific format requests which has been an unexpected benefit of the system. Previously, format changes would take a few days and require a programmer’s involvement, now they take just a few minutes which makes us happy and our notoriously impatient customers very happy. **What do you dislike about MarkMagic?** While the main MarkMagic WAS can be installed on any platform, the JMagic design tool must be installed on a Windows PC. Not a big deal, but we have some Linux users who want nothing to do MS. I understand CYBRA is releasing a web-based design tool soon, so any device/platform with a browser can be used to design. **Recommendations to others considering MarkMagic:** Schedule a 30 minute MarkMagic web demo with CYBRA. We learned a ton during our short demo with Ken. **What problems is MarkMagic solving and how is that benefiting you?** We work with 100+ Fulfillment centers around the country and are adding new ones every month. Many FCs already have thermal printers and software from various brands like Zebra, Datamax, Sato, Toshiba, Intermec, etc. For various reasons we needed to consolidate their printing process and streamline labeling. In short, one MarkMagic instance satisfied all our requirements. All 100+ FCs print from the same MMPI instance which supports all the FC label printing along with Accounting and E-Commerce PDFs.
