Gives me the ability to set scheduled tasks to complete based on a report. This really helps with compliance and audit plus helps to keep our environment more secure. **What do you dislike about ManageEngine ADManager Plus?** Updating ADManager is not a simple process. While the initial install is very easy (MSI file), all updates require you to run a batch file and select a PPM file. **What problems is ManageEngine ADManager Plus solving and how is that benefiting you?** We had user accounts that would go unused for some time. We've been able to set rules to automatically disable those accounts. We also do the same for computers and servers. We've been able to provide reports and audit trails. These tasks cna be done by junior admins that may not have a level of scripting needed. However, the tool is powerful so even the most seasoned engineer will find it useful ### 32. Their support is usually good so any issues are quickly resolved. **What problems is ManageEngine ADManager Plus solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are able to automate the user onboarding and offboardig life cycle through integration with our HR system (SuccessFactors) ### 33. AD reports are very handy. Extracting the reports from the portal is quite simple and the reports are very helpful. Other than reports, managing AD users and objects is very simple. Even non-IT users like HR can also do the required jobs of AD, if required. **What do you dislike about ManageEngine ADManager Plus?** There is a place for enhancement with the upgrades of envoirnment like from on-prem to cloud. But as for now, there are dislikes as it is fulfilling all our requirements for managing AD obects. **What problems is ManageEngine ADManager Plus solving and how is that benefiting you?** Its a handy tool for the Support team. They are handling most of the AD required requests throug the portal without accessing the Domain controller server. For example, I often have to audit login activity and expired accounts. ADManager Plus makes it easy to find this information in just a few clicks, and without it, I'd have to create scripts to accomplish the same thing. It is also handy to search objects across multiple domains. **What do you dislike about ManageEngine ADManager Plus?** Some AD attributes, such as group membership, are compacted into small fields which require multiple clicks to manage. It takes an extremely long time for Group Policy Management to load in our environment. The pop-out screen for user properties also doesn't quite include all user properties you'd see in ADU&C (custom attributes, for example). It would also be nice if AD change auditing was built into this product instead of having to pay for a separate product. **Recommendations to others considering ManageEngine ADManager Plus:** It is a useful product. The integration with Service Desk Plus has had some limited usefulness for us. **What problems is ManageEngine ADManager Plus solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our service desk uses the product for user management in AD and typically likes it better than ADU&C. We're also rolling out some automations within the product to automatically disable and deprovision aspects of user accounts after a certain period of inactivity (i.e. disabling accounts after 90 days without login). ### 40. The documentation is available but not as in-depth as I'd ideally like to see. **Recommendations to others considering ManageEngine ADManager Plus:** If you're currently using AD directly to manage day to day changes and password resets, AD Manager Plus will streamline your workflow and greatly improve your efficiency. **What problems is ManageEngine ADManager Plus solving and how is that benefiting you?** Every day we need to reset passwords, change names, move users between OU's, and disable inactive accounts. AD Manager Plus allows us to do this much more quickly and efficiently. ### 41. The results are some new users not being displayed in reports for example; **Recommendations to others considering ManageEngine ADManager Plus:** If you have problems managing your AD environment, try it. It just works. And it's easy to setup. A simple admin user and you're good to go. And you may start in a simple server or even in your own machine; you may delegate the access to other user, per OU or per many OUs, and they're very easy to setup and limit the access. The reports also, are a great stuff. One of the main benefits are the workflow options. You may have users for your manager, for example and create a flow that allow to give access to new users and have the user created based in a template, inside a OU, with user groups already defined, naming templates, etc. And the best, it works!!!!! About the support, i needed twice, and in both opportunities they were fast to answer all question, and came with single files that solved my problem really fast. But this created some trouble with upgrading the versions. But, they also helped to solve quickly. **What problems is ManageEngine ADManager Plus solving and how is that benefiting you?** No more server access to admins directly to the servers. ### 45. Anyone who needs to do bulk manipulation of objects would have a much better time of using this than trying to develop a library of scripts. Getting reports on users, computers, security groups, etc is dead simple. The price point of this product is significantly lower than others that have the same features, you get a lot for the money. It seems like this will scale well if our needs grow. **What do you dislike about ManageEngine ADManager Plus?** The interface could be a little cleaner and smoother. If you only use the console from time to time, you will find yourself hunting around to find an option you used before. Also, their support is lacking in some ways. If you have a problem, they will fix it, but you will never get them to investigate what caused the issue in the first place. This is the downside of getting this many features at this price. **Recommendations to others considering ManageEngine ADManager Plus:** The weak spot for this product is the support. You will be speaking to someone overseas who may not immediately understand your issue. They are almost entirely outcome driven and are not interested in root cause problem analysis. **What problems is ManageEngine ADManager Plus solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are able to run reports on many aspects of our directory. We can document changes and monitor for any unwanted activity. It is no longer necessary to use and maintain scripts to push or pull AD info. ### 46. This allows us to have a higher level of security around ADUC without the need to manage delegations through the domain/forest tree. **What do you dislike about ManageEngine ADManager Plus?** The support from Manage Engine has not been the easiest to navigate and get a response back from. The solution does allow for multiple domains but does not like a single exchange environment in one domain that manages both domains as the second domain does not have a local exchange environment. **Recommendations to others considering ManageEngine ADManager Plus:** If you are looking at solution that is fully auditable and keeps technicians outside of ADUC this is a good solution to be looking at, it does have a ton of different addons for the environment but of course at an additional cost **What problems is ManageEngine ADManager Plus solving and how is that benefiting you?** Keep IT Security as a priority and limiting users access to certain infrastructure services that someone may not have knowledge about. ### 49. We run about a dozen daily/weekly reports for audit purposes. **What do you dislike about ManageEngine ADManager Plus?** The annual price for this product is a bit steep. Perpetual licensing would be better.
