**What do you like best about Mahara?**

best part is obviosly that it is free open source, i was introduced to it during my internship

**What do you dislike about Mahara?**

i took time to get a grasp of it but my mentor was supportive

**What problems is Mahara solving and how is that benefiting you?**

portfolio management by my prof-  i am also part of the process briefly

**What do you like best about Mahara?**

Can add feedback to page and effective star assessment feature
Can create collections of pages that link together via web buttons
Can create simple templates eg 2-3 columns, different sizes

**What do you dislike about Mahara?**

Navigation to some areas is not as straightforward as it could be
Some processes not hugely intuitive eg file uploads, dragging blocks (although you soon get used to it)
Limited backup functionality through use of exports
Export to HTML lacks theming

**Recommendations to others considering Mahara:**

Mahara is good but still there are cheaper and more effective tools available
