**What do you like best about Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite?**
I primarily use Lucid for system architecture, service-flow mapping, and technical discussions involving AI-powered recommendations and payment workflows. For complex designs, Lucid AI gives me a strong starting point from a detailed natural-language description, which I can then refine directly on the canvas rather than building every component manually.
One workflow I particularly use is breaking down an architecture into separate layers for client applications, core services, AI/personalization, payment and risk, data infrastructure, and MLOps. This makes it easier to reason about dependencies and asynchronous versus synchronous communication before discussing the design with other engineers.
I also find the collaborative editing and commenting useful during architecture reviews. Instead of explaining a service dependency or data flow entirely through a document or chat thread, we can point directly to the relevant component and discuss changes in context. Lucid's ability to generate and subsequently refine diagrams is especially useful when the initial architecture contains many interconnected services.

The main challenge with large technical architectures is keeping the canvas readable as the number of services and connections increases. A detailed system design can quickly become visually dense, particularly when several services share event streams or cross multiple architectural layers.

For very large architectures, this refinement is still an important part of producing a diagram that is practical for an engineering review.

Lucid helps me turn complex technical discussions into a shared visual representation. This is particularly useful when working through AI recommendation pipelines, payment orchestration, service dependencies, event flows, and system boundaries.
Instead of maintaining separate architecture sketches, flow diagrams, and review notes, I can keep the core system model in one collaborative workspace. The visual representation also makes it easier to identify missing dependencies, clarify ownership boundaries, and discuss changes with engineers who may not have the same context about every service.

**What do you like best about Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite?**
The best thing I like about the Lucid Visual collaboration suite is that I can easily create and communicate technical architecture diagrams very clearly with just a single prompt. First, for creating technical diagrams, it used to take me at least more than 15 minutes, now with the Lucid suite I can create one in less than 5 minutes with the help of their AI. I use their products more often for technical architecture revolving around cloud architecture and system designs. I integrate my AWS and Azure infrastructure for rapid infrastructure visualizations. I also share Lucid documents and collaborate from Slack. The UI feels very easy to explain and use so I can quickly create the diagrams. I had a very smooth onboarding experience with well-organized documentation and templates. The individual bundle plan has been really sufficient for my needs and it's priced at the right price and made my money worth every penny. Overall, I had a better and smooth experience. I feel Lucid provides good value for the money I pay, especially considering the time it saves on creating and updating technical architecture diagrams. I would consider the pricing worthwhile when the collaboration, AI generation, and advanced features are very actively used. Lucid offers more than just the basic diagramming tool.
**What do you dislike about Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite?**
One thing I dislike is the generation time for some complex prompts. While the features are very useful, certain prompts can take a significant amount of time to process. For example, I recently used a prompt to create a technical diagram of VPC networks hosted on AWS and it took more than five minutes to generate the diagram. For complex technical diagrams, faster generation would be more efficient.

Before using Lucid Suite, I used to create diagrams manually using tools like draw.io and excalidraw, which was time-consuming and required a lot of effort to maintain and update diagrams. Lucid Suite has helped me reduce the time spent on creating and modifying the diagrams. It allows me to quickly iterate on technical architectures and make changes as systems evolve. The primary benefits that have benefited me are time savings, lower documentation efforts, and faster iteration.

I mainly use Lucid to document ride request processing and driver matching workflows before development starts. During design reviews, I update architecture diagrams based on team feedback so everyone works from the same design. AI-assisted diagram generation gives us a solid starting point, while comments and real-time collaboration make reviews much faster and reduce back-and-forth discussions.

**What do you like best about Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite?**
After more than five years using it weekly, what still stands out is how fast it is to go from a blank canvas to something useful. The drag-and-drop editor is genuinely intuitive, so building a diagram or spinning up a whiteboard takes minutes.
Real-time collaboration is the biggest win for my team — several of us can edit and comment on the same board live, which has cut down on a lot of meetings. The template and shape libraries save me from starting from scratch, and the integrations mean I can drop diagrams straight into the other tools we already work in. Onboarding new teammates has been painless too; the interface is easy enough that they're productive almost right away.
The AI features are a nice bonus — I've used them to turn rough notes into a starter diagram and skip the tedious first pass. For what we pay, the time it saves in meetings and rework makes the ROI easy to justify.

My main gripe is performance on large, complex files. Once a board or diagram gets really big, it can start to lag and feel sluggish, which slows me down mid-project.

**What do you like best about Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite?**
Extremely easy to use. It feels like a desktop application running in the browser. There are tons of templates and keyboard shortcuts, which makes it very practical and efficient to work with. I’ve never had any performance issues, and all drawings and updates happen in real time. The on-screen shortcut hints are also genuinely helpful.
I like the data import features for visualization.

I haven’t found any downsides yet. I’m able to print, share, and publish without issues. I’m not involved with pricing, so I can’t really speak to that part. Aside from that, it’s been great so far.
**What problems is Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?**
Creating business process visuals for customers. I use it to create visual timelines reducing the visual disruption of a detailed Gannt chart. I use it for planning out projects. I also use it for demonstrating possible new functionality for product managers. I have not used many integrations yet.

**What do you like best about Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite?**
I use Lucid mainly for IT infrastructure documentation mapping out network topology, Active Directory structure, and site-to-site VPN connections across our locations. What stands out most is the real-time collaboration: when I'm updating a network diagram, other team members can view or edit it simultaneously, so documentation stays current instead of living in someone's local file that goes stale.
For a team managing infrastructure across multiple sites, this cuts out the back-and-forth of emailing diagrams for review or waiting on one person to finish edits before anyone else can see the latest version.
From a support/onboarding standpoint, the biggest benefit has been ramping up newer IT support staff instead of a verbal walkthrough of our environment, they can visually explore an up-to-date shared diagram, which cuts down onboarding time significantly. On integrations, having it accessible alongside the rest of our workflow tools (we run primarily on Microsoft 365) means diagrams aren't siloed away from where the team already works day to day.
The AI feature also gives you a quick start ease by helping you design template with just prompts.
Performance has been solid even with fairly detailed, multi-page network diagrams no noticeable lag when multiple people are editing at once, which matters given we're collaborating across sites.
**What do you dislike about Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite?**
The main drawback has been the learning curve on the UI. With so many shape libraries, formatting options, and layout tools packed into the interface, it took me a while to figure out the most efficient way to build network and infrastructure diagrams early on I spent more time hunting for the right shape or tool than actually diagramming. Once I got past the initial adjustment period it became much faster, but for someone jumping in expecting something as simple as a basic drawing tool, the depth of features can feel overwhelming at first rather than immediately intuitive.
It would help if there were more guided, role-specific onboarding (e.g., a quickstart path specifically for IT/network diagramming) rather than a general one-size-fits-all intro, since the platform serves very different use cases that probably need different starting points.

As an IT Support Lead managing infrastructure across four office locations, one of the biggest challenges before Lucid was keeping network and Active Directory documentation accurate and accessible to the whole team. Diagrams tended to live on one person's machine, get outdated quickly, and required manual redistribution every time something changed.
Lucid solves this by giving us a single, live source of truth for infrastructure diagrams network topology, AD structure, and VPN connections between sites that the whole IT team can view and edit in real time. The benefit is twofold, documentation stays current because updates happen in one shared place instead of scattered files, and it's improved knowledge-sharing across the team, since anyone can pull up the latest diagram instead of relying on tribal knowledge or waiting on one person to explain the setup. This has been especially useful for onboarding newer support staff, who can visually understand our environment across sites much faster than through verbal walkthroughs alone.

Besides the friendly user experience and excellent design of Lucidchart and Lucidspark, which I actively use, Lucid provides outstanding customer support and demonstrates a strong commitment to security.
I am satisfied with the platform's performance, flexibility, and wide variety of tools. Lucid also offers all the integrations I need, including Microsoft and Atlassian integrations, which are particularly valuable for my work.
The AI-powered visualization feature has not worked very well for me so far. However, this may be due in part to my prompts and expectations not being fully aligned. I believe I may need to provide more detailed instructions to achieve better results.

I appreciate the real-time collaboration feature, which lets me work with peers and drop comments on architectural diagrams easily. The ability to set access privileges is also beneficial. The UI is seamless, providing the flexibility I need to customize diagrams without being constrained by rigid templates. I also like that Lucid offers a wide range of integrated service icons and diagram shapes, which simplifies the process of working with various cloud services' components. Although I haven't used it much, the AI summarization feature seems promising for giving short descriptions of diagrams.

I find Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite somewhat limiting for drawing low-level diagrams like sequence diagrams and class diagrams. I have to use another tool, PlanDMN, for those because Lucid doesn't support code-based diagram generation that allows for easy updates. Also, the initial setup asks a lot of personal questions, which felt cumbersome, as I needed to start working quickly. This could be streamlined by collecting this information gradually rather than upfront, making the user experience smoother.

**What do you like best about Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite?**
People on my team actually use it without asking for a tutorial. We mostly build process flows in Lucidchart and use Lucidspark for messy brainstorming during calls. Auto-alignment and snap-to-grid saves tedious cleanup using connectors, and multiple people on a board live with barely any lag, which makes reviews way quicker. Simply put, it does its job.
**What do you dislike about Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite?**
The licensing model ain't my favorite aspect; paying full price for people who only tweak a couple shapes a month feels harsh. After a board gets crowded with complex workflows, browser performance slows a bit down and panning becomes choppy. The connector lines are also tricky to reroute cleanly among dense diagram clusters without manual fix of the elbows.

Feature wise, I really like the real-time collaboration feature (of course), and I also appreciate being able to convert diagrams from Visio and draw.io. Also, the "Recent Document" feature has good interactivity. I can easily access my recent works there and label it as (complete, pending, approved, etc.) and it has a quick share button.
The UI/UX visual also looks appealing and clean to me, I was a first time user in Lucid, but I didn't get confused because it's not cluttered with a lot of filler or confusing element and the performance works smoothly on my low-end laptop with 8GB of RAM and a Ryzen 3 processor.
I just wish there was a "student" plan or any student collaboration program because the price is not really friendly for Southeast Asia, and I'd like to share this with my friend and hoping that Lucid is used widely, because right now the commonly used tools among my peers is draw.io.

Meanwhile 1...maybe 2 people are currently using the license. There was also no communication prior to the annual renewal to let us know it was coming. Due to this lack of communication and the employee no longer working for the company, we were charged 2k for...now 1 person using a seat of software. When sending feedback through the appropriate channels, I was sent to the terms in the contract stating that there are no refunds. I’ll also say that I contacted Lucid billing the week...if not day of the renewal being charged. This is horrible customer service...and honestly a bit of a desperate practice to maintain ARR. I’ll be spending the next year convincing my team to subscribe to a competitive service. Beware to those of you on annual renewal.

What I find most helpful about Lucid is that it lets me create many different types of diagrams, from BPMN to UML, as well as simple brainstorm sketches and drawings. It also includes a wide range of default symbols and templates in its library, which makes it easy to get started without having to build everything from scratch. The UX is very straightforward, it integrates with different tools, and performance-wise it feels fast. Over time, it has also shifted a bit toward a more Miro-like approach. I'm a student, and they offer a generous student plan for free, which is very helpful!
In my opinion, the AI features still lack sufficient practical applications and functionality. At the time, I wasn't able to get good results or complete diagrams from the prompts.
I haven't had to contact support yet, so I'm unable to review that.

I use Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite for both personal and professional purposes. At work, as a Product Manager, Lucid helps me collaborate with my product squads, turn ideas into meaningful, easy-to-follow visuals, and capture details from a range of sources—everything from docs to Teams call recordings and other media.
Personally, I use it to track my pet projects and keep all the information in one place, including links. I also use sticky notes to pin my ideas, make connections between them, and plan.

I like that in Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite, everything can be easily managed in a whiteboard with unlimited space for designing. It's great for keeping all the website landing pages in flow, starting with the homepage, and the unlimited space really gives room for proper website structuring.

I wish it had AI features and could directly integrate landing pages into different CMS tools like WordPress. I also prefer having the same keyboard shortcuts as Figma, as I am familiar with those; otherwise, I might get irritated and switch back to Figma.

Additionally, while the integration between Lucidchart and Lucidspark is helpful, navigating the shifting UI between formal diagramming and casual whiteboarding can take some getting used to for new team members. However, I’ve found that establishing clean folder structures and breaking massive boards into smaller, linked documents usually mitigates the performance issues

I like how easy it is to use and how simple it is to just start creating without a whole tutorial. It allows me to organize my information with boxes and arrows that connect everything together, and it feels very intuitive and user-friendly. I appreciate that I can start without needing training or a lot of familiarity with the product. The initial setup was very easy and quick, taking just about two minutes, which I really appreciated. I'm really happy that this software is available and I definitely recommend it to others. I've used it for years, and it helps me create visuals easily and effectively, allowing seamless sharing with my team.

Just the free version is limited to only using three boards at one time. That is kind of a bummer. I wish I could use more boards than just the three that I'm stuck with.

There's nothing complicated about it, which makes it accessible to anyone. I used it for making different kinds of notes and sticky notes for my interview preparation, which gave me a better visual layout.

Probably, like, I have not used most of the features but I believe when we go to presentation mode, when we click it, so it's not that very familiar. So you click it, it goes to the very left. So I believe when I use the presentation mode, if I'm clicking that, then it should be in the very centered. I don't need to align it. So many times.

I loved the listing of categorized templates. This made it super easy to view and quickly choose which sheet or chart would work best for my applications. Once I reviewed the chart, it was very user-friendly to edit the categories and customize it for my specific project and use. The number of charts and templates to use is amazing and saves so much of my time.

Although the application and customization is super easy and intuitive, the manner in which to replicate, print, and/or share is a little more complicated. We work with many people who still prefer or appreciate a print copy of a project. The formatting for printing does not necessary jive with my printer set up and requires some creativity, out of the box thinking and some finagling.

My problem was creating and distributing content quickly which would reduce our office inefficiencies and delegate tasks, duties, responsibilities and accountability. I also had the problem of building a foundational production timeline to assist with everyone's work skills and communication.

I find the AI tool somewhat helpful for generating quick process workflows with a decent prompt; it's not perfect but good enough to be useful. The setup was very easy for my team, which I appreciate. These features play an important role in keeping us on the same page and enhancing our workflow, showing our clients that we are sophisticated with our methods.

I rely on Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite extensively during time-sensitive hackathons and engineering group projects to map out complex application architectures and database schemas. UI/UX & Performance: The intuitive drag-and-drop interface has zero learning curve, which literally saves us hours of setup time when we need to move quickly. Even when our diagrams become incredibly dense—like mapping out intricate machine learning pipelines or large-scale ERDs—the performance remains flawlessly smooth without any browser lag during live, multi-user editing. AI/Intelligence & Integrations: The massive template library gives us a huge head start, but the recent AI/Intelligence features are a fantastic unexpected benefit. Being able to auto-generate initial flowcharts or summarize brainstorming sessions using AI prompts accelerates our early planning phases. Furthermore, its integrations fit perfectly into our development workflow. We can seamlessly embed our live diagrams directly into GitHub readmes or Google Workspace docs, keeping our code and architecture documentation perfectly synced. Support/Onboarding & ROI: Getting new teammates involved is completely frictionless. The onboarding process is quick, and the self-serve support and interactive tooltips mean no one wastes time figuring out how the tool works. Because we can collaborate in real-time to spot system design flaws before we even write a single line of backend code, the ROI in terms of saved development time and reduced debugging is massive

While Lucid is an excellent tool, there are a few key areas that need improvement. First, the lack of a fully functional offline mode is a significant bottleneck. Because it is heavily web-dependent, working through sudden Wi-Fi drops—which happens often during crowded campus hackathons or late-night team sprints—completely stalls our progress.
Second, the mobile app experience feels very restricted compared to the desktop version. In time-sensitive situations, being able to quickly review a database schema or make minor tweaks to an architecture diagram directly from a phone would be incredibly convenient, but the current mobile features don't quite support that level of editing.
Finally, the free tier limits are quite restrictive for student developers and small teams. When you are trying to map out extensive system designs or complex machine learning pipelines, you hit the object or document limits very quickly. This often forces you to juggle and delete older diagrams just to keep working if you aren't ready to commit to a paid plan
