What I like the best is the availability of open-source free software components bundled with the openness of Linux at the bottom of it.
Openstack gives you the power to customize the underlying infrastructure as per your needs. From SRIOV to DPDK, from vHOST to NUMA awareness & hugepages, it supports everything & gives you the flexibility to develop an infrastructure that is ready for network-intensive & resource-intensive (CPU & RAM) applications.
In addition to that, you can leverage Kubernetes as a manager for all your containerized workloads either on Baremetal or on top of Openstack Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Setting up the whole infrastructure for the first time is not an easy task. It may take days to setup the infrastructure & the base software image for OpenStack is also very heavy.
On top of that if you setup Kubernetes with same requirement then it is again an overhead Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
