"Efficient and Transparent Enterprise Architecture Management with SAP LeanIX"
What do you like best about SAP LeanIX?

SAP LeanIX offers a well-organized and transparent view of the complete IT landscape, making it easier to monitor applications, their dependencies, and associated risks. The dashboards simplify complex architectural data, which in turn supports more effective strategic planning. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP LeanIX?

SAP LeanIX may initially seem daunting, particularly for newcomers working with extensive environments. Certain features demand considerable setup, and the customization options are somewhat restricted, which can make it challenging to perform more in-depth analysis or make specific adjustments. "Powerful EA Tool with Room for Improvement"
What do you like best about SAP LeanIX?

I like that SAP LeanIX comes with a comprehensive set of out-of-the-box capabilities that aren't overwhelming. There's a clear purpose and use case for each feature, which helps us to achieve full impact and value. It has great reporting and analytics and very clean executive-level dashboards, which enhance storytelling and narrative aspects for non-tech stakeholders. I really appreciate the clean UI and the draw.io integration, which makes creating complex diagrams easier with industry-recognized shapes and notations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP LeanIX?

I would say that the metadata model is a bit complex, which sometimes leads to multiple entries and confusion around what already exists and what does not. I have also noticed some performance issues where it is slow to load, refresh rates, save and pick up where you left off, etc. Its integration with other tools is sometimes one way and not bidirectional. It is a good documentation tool but it doesn't go beyond that. It is hard to conduct complex analysis within the tool and make decisions. Initial setup was very barebones and generic. There was no good way to kickstart our adoption of the tool. Some ready-to-use templates or standards and best practices would have gone a long way. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Essential Tool for Roadmap planning and deriving target architecture"
What do you like best about SAP LeanIX?

I appreciate SAP LeanIX for its ability to offer a structured framework that helps define a target architecture and develop a transformation plan, which is especially valuable for my roadmap planning needs. The integration with other Business Transformation Management (BTM) solutions enhances its utility by facilitating seamless connections across platforms. I find great value in its capability to link business capabilities directly to solutions, promoting transparency that helps in reducing IT spend and managing risks effectively. Additionally, the inclusion of the SAP reference architecture is a highlight as it provides a comprehensive blueprint for aligning business processes. Despite an initially time-consuming setup, I learned to efficiently utilize the fact sheets upload method, which has improved my experience. Lastly, I am thoroughly impressed with its features, which make it a perfect 10 in my recommendation scale. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP LeanIX?

I find the initial setup of SAP LeanIX to be time-consuming. While I eventually learned to use the fact sheets upload method to ease this process, the beginning stages were challenging and took considerable time to navigate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Boosts Visibility and Collaboration with Room for Customization Improvements"
What do you like best about SAP LeanIX?

I really like SAP LeanIX for the transparency it brings to our architecture. The visualization tools make it incredibly easy to understand the relationships between applications and business processes, which is crucial for strategic decision-making. The ability to generate reports that effectively communicate insights to stakeholders is another highlight, ensuring that everyone is on the same page. Moreover, the collaborative features are incredibly valuable; they allow teams to update and maintain application data together, ensuring that information remains current and supports consistent decision-making across departments. I also find the application portfolio management and technology lifecycle features particularly valuable, as they help identify redundancies, track technology obsolescence, and plan future investments in a more strategic manner. It's great that SAP LeanIX integrates well with other tools like SAP S/4HANA, SAP Solution Manager, SAP Analytics Cloud, Jira, and Confluence, aligning architecture data seamlessly with project management and documentation workflows. The initial setup was quite smooth, aided by guided setup tools and templates, making a potentially complex process quite straightforward and easy to follow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP LeanIX?

I find some customizations in SAP LeanIX to be limited, especially regarding reporting and dashboard layouts. This restricts my ability to fully tailor the interface and outputs to fit the unique needs of my organization. Additionally, I feel the user interface could be more intuitive, particularly for new users. Better guidance during the initial setup and when importing data would help ease the learning curve and improve the overall user experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Robust Fact Sheets and Matrices, but Sync Issues and Reporting Limitations"
What do you like best about SAP LeanIX?

I guess the best part about LeanIX is that once you finally have all the data in there, it gives you a decent high-level view of your IT landscape. One of the best things about SAP LeanIX is its "Fact Sheets" feature, which allows us to capture and maintain detailed information about our applications, interfaces, and IT components in a standardized format. The fact that it integrates well with other tools like Jira and Confluence is also a big plus, as it allows us to maintain a consistent view of our architecture across different platforms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP LeanIX?

the data synchronization with our other systems, like ServiceNow and Confluence, can sometimes be a bit finicky, requiring manual intervention to keep everything in sync. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"SAP LeanIX review"
What do you like best about SAP LeanIX?

What I like most about SAP LeanIX is its clean, user friendly interface and how quickly it delivers value. It doesn’t take months to get up and running you can start seeing meaningful insights and reports within just a few weeks. The platform makes it easy to visualize complex IT landscapes, which helps both technical teams and business stakeholders make better decisions. It’s also built for collaboration, allowing different departments to contribute and maintain data without needing deep technical knowledge. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP LeanIX?

LeanIX is quite expensive. The data modeld are also be a bit confusing at first terms like “Application” and “IT Component” aren’t always intuitive, and that can lead to mistakes or duplicated entries. Builtin integrations and diagramming tools a bit limited often needing to rely on external software for more advanced use cases. Lastly, since it uses a proprietary structure, migrating to a different tool later on could be challenging. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
