Buggy Performance: The product frequently crashes, making it unreliable. The user interface is also quite buggy, which hampers productivity. 2. Unhelpful Customer Support: The customer support team hasn’t been very helpful. Their advice often feels condescending, focusing on superficial aspects of email tone rather than providing constructive feedback. Their office hours are more about explaining basic email concepts than offering genuine support. 3. AI Functionality: While the idea of using AI to rewrite emails is fantastic, I’d recommend ChatGPT over Lavender. Lavender's feedback tends to be limited to critiquing sentence length rather than offering meaningful improvements. 4. Lack of Compelling Features: The product itself is uninspiring and hasn’t led to an increase in booked meetings. It doesn’t deliver the results it promises. It's very helpful to get feedback (based on best practices) on your emails in real time. The personalization assistant is also great for quickly personalizing prospect emails. Being able to use Lavender in your SEP (Outreach or Salesloft) is also very nice to have. **What do you dislike about Lavender?** I had a billing issue, contacted support and still haven't heard back in almost a week. Ease of Use: The UI (in this case, G-Suite) is simple, intuitive and powerful. A seller can easily type an email from scratch and receive feedback on how to improve the likelihood of their email getting read; sellers can also see a mobile phone view,m which shows exactly how their email will appear on mobile devices and mobile preview. Also, there is a feature that leverages AI to write an email for you or take an email and reword it for you to make it stronger. All of this is fairly seemlessly integrated into the interface and is easy to understand, use, and leverage. Impact: By using the Lavender dashboard, an admin (for instance a sales leader) can track the impact of their team's emails - score, effectiveness, engagement, opportunities for improvement, etc. Viewing results as a whole team or drilling down to invidifual sellers is powerful for both assessment and coaching. **What do you dislike about Lavender?** Even though the UI is intuitive and simple to use, it sometimes glitches - sometimes the icons are not easily clickable, disapear, or don't function some of the time (at least in G-Suite). **What problems is Lavender solving and how is that benefiting you?** In this day and age when everyone is bombarded with emails from 1,000s of vendors, we are aiming to solve the problem of emails not being read or not reaching the inbox. I think one of the requirements of using Lavender should be that oyu follow them on LinkedIn as well. The amount of content they post has helped me more than any sales class I could have paid thousands of dollars for. The actual product is very simple but powerful when writing emails, because what Lavender realizes is that emails are not a one size fits all. From a team wide perspective, very easy for sales managers to look at the data and analytics and know exactly how to coach their reps. **What do you dislike about Lavender?** Right now the hubspot integration has some glitches. Rare you find a product that teaches you while you use it. The product is excellent. The educational content and lessons the team posts on social are infinitely more valuable, though. Any team struggling to book meetings or get replies on email should really consider onboarding this tool across the board. It's a game changer when it comes to reply rates and starting meaningful conversations with prospects. **What do you dislike about Lavender?** For a PLG product, it's priced too high. I understand charging businesses a premium for the analytics, but asking an SDR to pay that much per month these days is pretty hard. At a time when people are debating whether or not they can afford groceries or rent, a tool that supposedly helps them hit their number and make more money is just out of reach for some folks who could really benefit. $11-15 a month would make more sense for a lot of your target audience and probably reduce the barrier to entry. Additionally, sometimes the tool is a waste of time. I could spend 20 minutes writing one email. It encourages tinkering. After about 9 months of using it, I could see the ability to get rid of it altogether since I understood the core concepts of the writing. **What problems is Lavender solving and how is that benefiting you?** Helping me write better emails. There are, however, 2 major areas where we as reps can drive major impacts to the sale process and our ability to win. 1. Our initial message in reaching out. Because leaders are prospected every single day, it is nearly impossible to stand out in the crowd. Lavender enables me to send the right message with the highest chance of a response. It does this by helping me craft messages by choosing the right words, and builds meaning behind what I am trying to say. It will increase your Open, Read, and Response rate. 2. Our message throughout the sales process. When a prospect goes from "I'm interested" to "We met", this is the other major area where reps can drive impact to the sales process. Sales writing is in a really poor place right now, especially in the sales process. Too many emails that look and sound the same, with little follow-up context, relying on the fact that there was a demo. Oftentimes I would find myself guilty of going back and tuning my emails and templates over and over -- wasting time and normally not changing too much. Now that I have been using lavender for close to 3 years now I can confidently lean on the score they offer to know when I've written a solid email. **What do you dislike about Lavender?** I really wish I could take advantage of the plethora of analytics they offer and an integration to our SEP would make it a lot easier to use. When I first heard of Lavender I'll admit, I was a skeptic. Using technology to make recommendations about a very HUMAN experience? Blaspheme! But the more I learned about how it's built, the end user experience, and the impact of the recommendations I quickly became a fan and true believer. The technology itself is easy to install and start using. The ability to integrate with Outreach.io was a big perk and selling point across the business - RevOps, Sales Leadership and the SDRs. I've also been thoroughly impressed with how quickly the product continues to evolve. From a client standpoint, I love that the Lavender team is friendly, accessible, curious, and collaborative. They've been one of the best vendors I've ever worked with. **What do you dislike about Lavender?** Talked to the team at Lavender about deepening/expanding their integration with Outreach.io. I'd love to see Lavender reconcile their reporting filters with the native fields/filters in Outreach. **What problems is Lavender solving and how is that benefiting you?** Training SDRs on outbound messaging is HARD! What works isn't a) consistent across businesses or b) static. The number of variables that impact messaging efficacy are vast, and challenging for an entry/mid-level SDR to figure out on their own. This was true even before COVID but in the current world we find ourselves in - remote-first and fully distributed companies - it becomes exponentially harder. The free trial for job seekers was such a wonderful tool to have, especially because I wasn't looking to add a new paid subscription while I was still less than employed. I was raving about the product already and planned to pay for it to continue doing outreach after I got my job and was thrilled to find my company, Sharebite, had already purchased the product for our sales team. In trainings on company-specific cold emails I have found myself saying out loud, "I know Lavender would ding points for this phrase," or "This is probably a 12th grade reading level we should tone it down," and the fact that this mindset has been so quickly adopted through Lavender's tips is invaluable to me. The mobile optimization view is one of the features I use the most. I rarely click send without taking a look first! If you're a visual learner, having that score on your emails update in real-time is such a great tool and being able to analyze individual portions that you've lost points on takes the guesswork out of what you could be doing better. I've 100% recommended Lavender both to job-seekers in my network as well as sales teams at different organizations and think it's a great tool to add into anyone's tech stack! All the Lavender employees are also just the BEST and happy to answer any questions via LinkedIn or email. I love engaging with their posts and feel like if I ever had any questions I wouldn't be burdening anyone by asking! **What do you dislike about Lavender?** Functionality wise I wish there were a way to not take points away for commonly used phrases or add an exceptions list to exclude from the algorithm. My email signature drops my score! Being able to view the same data without having to manually delete and then re-add would be fantastic. **Recommendations to others considering Lavender:** You're doing yourself a disservice by not at least doing the free trial and seeing if it works for you. Remember most prospects are on the go and checking emails on their mobile so this is a game-changer. Next, I'd recommend the feature to concise your emails and cut the fluff. I wish I had this product 5 years back and life would have been different.
