As a Real Estate Appraiser whose work focuses on Insurance Valuation & Reserve Fund Studies, every week I need to measure building plans (often of fairly poor quality) to ascertain key dimensions for my cost modelling. I've tried a variety of glorified PDF editors, including offerings from top names before I discovered Kreo.

Kreo's shape recognition algorithms speed my process by identifying areas and measuring them for me. Specifically, the bucket-fill measurement tool continues to get better and better, and relieves me from a bunch of fine-point clicking to trace the perimeter of convoluted shapes (especially helpful for shaky hands). Kreo then provides outputs in Excel that I can directly plug-in to my models. I use it now for every job.

Emilia, Richard, and Karolina provided excellent pre-sales/demo support, teaching me how to use the product so that my paid subscription period started with maximum effectiveness. Kreo works best with vector drawings and modern building floorplans. Most of my work involves scans of registered condominium plans into the Land Records database. Consequently, it's difficult to get the most out of the "automagical" features. That said, the bucket-fill measurement tool keeps getting better and addresses most of my needs. Kreo is a great tool for doing take off's and can vastly improve the amount of time this process can take. It is easy to use and the team are always on hand with any questions you may have. The AI tools are revolutionary and the template function helps us creat unifomity across our projects and seemless integration with our current ways of working. Kreo is a work in progress yes there are some functions that have not been developed yet however thanks to the progressive mindset of the team at Kreo all suggestions are taken on board and they are open about tools they are developing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Kreo has been an asset to our small buisness since we started teh free trial, shortening out take off times jand creating more dialed and acurate numbers for our estimating and bidding process. very easy to use and the customer service seems to always be availible when we need any questions or training . 10/10 would recomend to a friend. Although intially looking for a way to speed up takeoff by using the automeasure feature, the AI assist feature is what i have mainly been using, and it has sped up the process of take off significantly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The way projects/objects are sorted on the left is confusing. You should be able to right click on an area you have taken off and allocate it to a group without having to move to group and then search it. I also find when the automeasure feature is used it opens lots of automeasure boxes and can just be a little confusing. AI tools are great and help to optimize time, even with it needing some improves on elevations. The software also have a good optimization in RAM consuption that helps your browser to not slow down Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It still needs some functions that can help the estimator to do the takeoff easily.

While Kreo undoubtedly boasts numerous advantages, it's worth acknowledging one of its few limitations, particularly when dealing with extensive projects such as housing developments with lots and lots of plans. The minor drawback I've encountered is the potential for a bit of tedium when navigating between multiple drawings. Occasionally, this can disrupt the flow of work and lead to momentary lapses in concentration. However, it's important to note that this inconvenience is far outweighed by the overall efficiency and accuracy Kreo brings to the table, making it a valuable asset in my professional toolkit. It is web based so it is very quick and not reliant on any servers to work. It is also user friendly as it was not difficult to input a drawing and start measuring. The auto measure and AI suggest feature is very helpful and functions well, which saves time when measuring floor plans. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Although the AI tool is good, it measures everything and then you have to manually adjust into groups. For example, I have various floor finishes which are noted on a floor plan, the software does not pick up the different finisnhes and I had to manually chage them. Also it would be good if it could also do other types of drawings such as elevations or steelwork measures. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Having the PDF drawings next to a excel sheet. When taking off I can make a measurement and that value is straight into a collated spreadsheet, its doing three jobs in one. Taking off, marking up, collating measurement totals. I save hours from the tradiaitonal form of taking off. I have recomended this to my colleagues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The AI function does not work well on the drawings we use, its not something I really use at all. Hopefully that will be refined. The excel sheet while very helpful is a bit clunky and awkward to use, not enough to make it bad, but again its just not refined yet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like how Kreo makes measuring 2D plans for simple cost estimates and plans very quick and efficient. They do this through the use of their AI features which allows you to automate most of your basic measures, they also have a very user friendly interface which allows you to start measuring very quickly. I would like to see more depth in the AI feature. The auto measure feature is very useful but has limited applications at the moment, in the future I would like to see the AI feature become able to measure different wall types and ceilings as this is a very common feature of drawings.
