Jamf Pro has been a great tool to learn as a fresh IT Support Specialist for my organization. Compared to other tools for device management for other operating systems, Jamf's interface has been easy to learn which gives me the confidence to seek a resolution to new technical issues with our Mac users. Our biggest issue with Jamf is that not all features are available in the OnPremise version compared to the Cloud version! Since we cannot switch to Cloud mode at our University for confidentiality and sovereignty reasons, we lack some tools that would make management easier. The one stop shop aspect that allows me to query inventory, full management of my devices. Specifically keeping dashboards to monitor and push out updates, patches etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The search system seems unreliable. Often times I have to search for a device in multiple ways. (serial, hostname etc), one way may show no results while another will. Also, I rarely get a successful remote access acquisition of a device. There are also times where updates get stuck in limbo for no apparent reason, but if I go to the device and run the updates there are no problems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I find Jamf easy to use and secure, which is great because our customers are already familiar with it. As an administrator, I like how straightforward it is to see what software is installed on endpoints and to push updates as needed. It really helps us keep our Macs and iPads up to date. The knowledgebase and community forums are very helpful and I am often finding a solution to my problems in discussions between other Jamf users. Jamf Support engineers are very responsive and quick to respond. Using the API integration has been great to get the exact information I need from our Jamf instance. The lack of support for certain functions at a site level. ie site level packages, scripts, blueprints, and site-aware API roles. I dislike receiving an AI response when I submit a support ticket to Jamf. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We have over 7000 iPads in our school district supporting 23 schools. The ability to manage apps while not having to be physically in a particular building is so seamless and fast. I love using Jamf because it makes managing my Macs easy and helps my team move into true zero-touch management. With Jamf, we are working toward being a Mac-first organization. The Blueprints feature is great for having repeatable and auditable workflows. It's fantastic that Jamf’s management platform and information system are always up to date, and I appreciate that Jamf is an industry leader and first mover in Apple device management. In my experience, setting up an apple environment with Jamf Cloud has been great. Allowing for a small customer to setup the preferred workflows and modify them quickly is a must for our organization and with policies and config profiles this has been easy for me as the Jamf admin. Scoping devices how we see fit is also a key feature.

I have had to migrate our entire environment from an on premise to Jamf cloud. Integrating all this was a good experience and the jamf platform has made this possible.

The cost has not been an issue so far for our organization. We look for stability over new quality of life features. Downtime has never been an issue so this has made the cost of Jamf something to always leverage with management. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

My biggest growing pain with the Jamf suite is Operating system updates and upgrades. DDM and native Jamf tools have shown low completions when attempting to use. Often resulting to 3rd party tools and scriptint to enforce and ensure completion of OS updates. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The updates to platform and cloud connections makes the experience and ui navigation smoother. AI assistant is useful. Elevate brings a guided experience to the setup. Tools like Terraform bring quick build integrations. very infrequent downtime. consolidated SKUs for purchasing bundled products makes pricing appropriate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The dashboard for Jamf Pro could use some updates to bring more visibility into customizable fleet health data. App switcher works well but requires the OIDC SSO setup for the platform sign-on experience, which is fine but could be refined to a more streamlined pull of server objects into one location.
