"Clean Interface, but Overall Experience Falls Short"

2/5

What do you like best about Iru?

Generally it is a clean interface, it functions pretty well and provides some functionality that is not typical for the sector. It can be cost effective for very basic things. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Iru?

I've used this service for 5-6 years at multiple companies, there have been no noticeable improvements that weren't solely due to improvements to Apple updates to the MDM infrastructure.

Their seemingly unnecessary rebrand forced us to rewrite our user-facing documentation as well as update scripts and other automations. I wasted close to 40 hours just dealing with their vanity project so that my existing systems continue work. They have not themselves updated a lot of their support documentation.

They don't allow even the most basic customization or white labeling. Why can't the name of the Self-Service app be customized to my company and logo? Other suppliers do this (and even Microsoft's "Company Portal" is at least self explanatory).

The API lacks even the most basic listing functionality (e.g. the ability to list all library items in my account or the ability to list all available Auto Apps)

When we migrated for this company I had to write several customer tools to determine the status of machines in the process, because the Kandji migration tool did not provide any status on where a machine was in the process until it was fully migrated.

They moved basic administrative features from the basic product to the EDR product without notice. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?

Managing macOS devices, onboarding new devices. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Business Manager Enrollment + IRU = The Ideal Onboarding Experience"

4.5/5

What do you like best about Iru?

For me, it’s definitely the Automated Device Enrollment integration with Apple Business Manager...it’s seamless. A new Mac comes straight out of the box, the user goes through Liftoff, and they’re ready to start working with everything is already fully configured. I also really like how quickly policies are applied, required apps are installed, and compliance checks are passed without me having to step in. What used to require hands-on guidance now runs unattended and fits smoothly into our current onboarding process, at a reasonable price for the amount of coverage provided. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Iru?

The alert management experience still has room to improve. When Library Items are queued for deployment but haven’t yet reached a device, the alert panel can build up a lot of noise, and those alerts require manual dismissal instead of auto-resolving once the item installs. There also isn’t a bulk “acknowledge expected” action, so during a large deployment window you end up clearing alerts one at a time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?

Compliance enforcement used to be reactive rather than proactive. In the past we’d discover non-compliant devices through periodic audits. But now Kandji / Iru's continuous policy checks mean we see compliance drift in real time and can remediate before it becomes a finding. Our macOS patching cadence is now measurable and defensible. "Iru: The Go-To Tool for MDM and Endpoint Security"

5/5

What do you like best about Iru?

The automation has noticeably streamlined my workflows, cutting out repetitive steps I used to handle manually. The Blueprint System makes configuration management straightforward and reliable, and it has held up well as my setup grew more complex.

The interface is clean and intuitive. I was productive almost immediately, and the layout keeps the features I use most within easy reach rather than buried in menus. Performance has been solid throughout: fast load times, responsive interactions, and no noticeable slowdowns even under heavier use.

Integrations are a real strength. It connects cleanly with the Apple ecosystem and plays well with the other tools in my stack, so I rarely have to jump between apps to get something done. On top of all that, the support team has been consistently responsive and genuinely helpful whenever I've had a question. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Iru?

Better automations with vulnerability remediations would be helpful. The process is more manual than I would like. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?

As someone who oversees both HR and IT, Iru has solved the problem of a complex and time-consuming device management process, freeing me up for other tasks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy Deployment, Modern UI, and Wonderful Support"

5/5

What do you like best about Iru?

I really like how easy it is to use and the clean, modern interface. Deployment across our MacBook fleet is also straightforward. Support has always been wonderful, and the integrations support team is especially helpful. The performance of the tool has consistently been great, and the pricing value it brings is a bonus. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Iru?

The AI capabilities haven’t been the most useful so far, but we’re still eager to test out the Iru MCP soon. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?

It currently handles the management of our MacBook fleet and the distribution of our enterprise-wide apps right from the start during the liftoff process. It’s also been very helpful for tech upgrades and new-hire onboarding, making those rollouts and setups much smoother for our team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"On point MDM solution"

4/5

What do you like best about Iru?

The new EDR Solution seems pretty robust, Assignment maps are really useful , being able to use IFTTT( if this then that) style arguments to assign apps , limitations and conditions for each endpoint.. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Iru?

You are still able to set up conflicting settings, for example, if you set up logging in with an IDP like Google Workspace, and also set up a local password replacement policy, you can get locked out of your user because its managed by Google, yet Iru thinks you need to change your password. When setting up IDP sync this setting should be turned off automatically instead of having and alert or disclaimer reminding you of the potential conflict. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?

Orchestrating all of our Mac based laptops company wide, being able to deploy custom apps as well as pre-made out of the box ready made apps to deploy as well as having an "app store" of sorts comprised of approved apps ready to go. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Very functional, clean looking, and cost efficient MDM platform for macOS device"

5/5

What do you like best about Iru?

The Iru UI is very clean, modern, and easy to navigate. Setup is very straightforward that you could get everything up and running in a few hours. It's a great MDM for managing macOS devices and natively supports external IDPs such as Entra ID or Google or Okta and ABM for zero touch deployment. There's also a really large catelog of natively supported 3rd party apps (Chrome, Zoom, Slack, M365, etc.). Creating different blueprints or layouts for different groups or teams of users is very useful as well. Their blueprint UI is drag and drop and toggle buttons so its very easy to do setup. Their pricing has been increating over the years but still a more cost efficent option to JAMF. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Iru?

There's no option to manually remove or silence device alerts. The only fix is to resolve the "issue/conflict" itself but in some cases its not actually a real issue. There's no integration with any asset management/tracking platforms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?

We originally used Intune for macOS device management but it worked very poorly. Iru provided us a very good MDM solution to manage all of our macOS devices. We can now deploy devices with zero touch, authenticate using Entra ID, and managent group policies and applications. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Simple and reliable Apple device management"

4/5

What do you like best about Iru?

IRU has been a solid solution for managing Apple devices in our organization. The platform is intuitive, easy to deploy, and the automation features make device configuration and maintenance much more efficient.

The interface is clear and policies can be applied quickly, which saves a lot of time for IT teams. Documentation and resources are also helpful when setting up new configurations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Iru?

That said, some advanced customization options could be a bit more flexible. Overall, it’s been a very positive experience and a good choice for organizations looking to simplify Apple device management. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?

IRU helps us centralize the management of our Apple devices and automate many tasks that would otherwise require manual configuration. This reduces the time spent on device setup, software deployment, and policy enforcement. As a result, our IT team can manage devices more efficiently and ensure that all machines stay compliant with our security and configuration standards. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Mac Management with Seamless Integration"

5/5

What do you like best about Iru?

I like Iru for managing my Mac devices with ease. It allows me to do zero touch deployments, automate updates, and keep the devices secure for SOC2 compliance. I use EDR and vulnerability management too. Iru is so easy to use and I like it so much better than Jamf because it works right out of the box, which is great for me as a department of one. Setting up Iru took less than a day and the interface is so easy and seamless. The Drata integration connects to Iru and helps automate software update policies and offboarding by automatically locking devices when an employee leaves. Iru makes my process for SOC2 compliance seamless. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Endpoint Management with Exceptional Support"

5/5

What do you like best about Iru?

Iru really stands out for its ease of set-up, allowing me to effortlessly move from no device management to zero-touch, set-and-forget endpoint enrollment and maintenance. This is especially valuable for me as a Head of IT when joining an organization lacking effective device management. The support from Iru is exceptional and incredibly helpful, as I have always had positive experiences with their team who go above and beyond to assist with issues or troubleshoot abnormalities. I find Iru is indispensable for quickly configuring endpoints to a secure baseline, automatically keeping the fleet up to date, and easily deploying applications. Its user-friendly experience empowers end-users to keep their devices updated with minimal friction and intervention from me. The initial setup was extremely easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Iru?

The only sticking point for me is their licensing model. I tend to work for start-ups with less than 100 endpoints to manage and their 25 license buckets make it hard to sell the solution over others internally. I'd definitely appreciate more flexibility or smaller license buckets. This has consistently been a sticking point for budget approvers that results in long conversations about going for the solution. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?

I use Iru to configure endpoints to a secure baseline quickly, keep the fleet up-to-date automatically, and deploy applications easily. Its user-friendly interface empowers users to update devices with minimal effort, reducing my intervention. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Seamless Fleet Management with Intuitive Setup"

5/5

What do you like best about Iru?

I love how Iru is so easy to set up and manage. I got tired of having to be the only person that understood our management solution, but now with Iru, any junior admin could pick it up in just an hour of training. The self-service feature is a standout for me, allowing me to deploy anything from applications to bookmarks to custom scripts to fix a variety of problems or make changes. It really gives me everything I could hope for. Also, the fact that it helps keep my devices and software up to date is incredibly helpful. The platform is so intuitive that I was able to build out everything I needed quickly, and it’s a truly great product that I’ve recommended to friends and colleagues. For ease of use, I think it's best in class at this moment in time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Iru?

Honestly, pretty much like every aspect of Iru, my only minor complaint is since we've moved from Kanji to Iru, the online chat now has an intermediary step where you have to kinda go through a bunch of AI guided stuff until you get to a person. For my own stake, I would much rather be able to go straight to a person like I did when it was still Kanji. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?

I use Iru to keep my fleet up to date and track software deployments to devices. The self-service feature allows deploying apps and custom scripts, offering everything I need. It integrates with Axonius, necessary for security teams. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
