"Comprehensive Fleet Management for Mac-Centric Teams"

4.5/5

What do you like best about Iru?

Iru is our primary MDM and helps us manage a mixed fleet of Mac and Windows devices effectively. The single console for device management, endpoint protection, and vulnerability data saves us a lot of time, especially for a primarily Mac shop. I like how Iru has consolidated our tools and provided a one-stop-shop for our fleet management needs. The reporting feature, which allows us to easily pull data, is also a big plus. Passport and Liftoff stand out as some of my favorite features. Passport keeps local accounts in sync with our IdP, so I stop getting tickets about mismatched local logins, while Liftoff ensures users get fully configured laptops from day one, making deployments seamless. Initially setting up Iru was pretty easy, and the team supported the rollout, allowing us to start the phased rollout immediately afterward. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Iru?

I feel Windows management is a step behind, which I kind of expected since it's a Mac-first product, but I'd like them to bring more control for Windows machines as well. I still handle some compliance-related controls with a custom script, which is a bit of a hassle. Also, I find the rebrand created some friction in documentation. Searching for stuff related to MDM has Kandji stamped over it, so it's hard to pin down exact up-to-date information. The AI agents sometimes trip up when I'm searching for solutions online, which isn't exactly a product flaw, but it is a rough edge that I hope will be cleaned up over time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?

Iru solved tool sprawl by consolidating device management and security, reducing dashboard time and eliminating duplication. The single console saves time, and features like Passport and Liftoff streamline deployments, making fleet management manageable for our small IT team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Device Management Across Platforms"

5/5

What do you like best about Iru?

I find Iru simple to use, especially compared to Jamf, which required a dedicated person to manage. One feature I love is the pre-packaged apps, which eliminate the need for us to package apps ourselves. These come with a one-click deployment option, saving us tons of time. I also appreciate that moving to Iru allows us to manage both Windows and Mac with a single app. Additionally, the initial setup was very straightforward with clear instructions, enabling us to connect to ABM within minutes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Iru?

I find that the Windows device management is not as complete as native Windows management products like Intune. We have encountered limitations with policy and patch management, especially because there are certain requirements for the version or patch level of Windows to enroll in Iru. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?

Iru manages all our devices on a single platform, including patching, application deployment, policy management, and inventory for over 200 devices. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Fast, Easy-to-Use Platform with Great Visibility and Responsive Chat Support"

4.5/5

What do you like best about Iru?

One of the standout aspects of Iru is its ease of use. The platform provides clear visibility into all the machines I manage, with flexible filtering options that make it easy to identify potential issues. The rollout of Iru support for Windows machines has also been a significant improvement. In terms of performance, Iru is fast and highly responsive. On the occasions I've needed assistance, the support team resolved my issues efficiently directly through the chat window. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Iru?

One area for improvement, in my opinion, is the Iru AI feature. I haven't found it to be as useful as anticipated, and as a result, we rarely use it. Additionally, I'd like the ability to save a preference for displaying 100 results per page instead of 50. Currently, I have to manually adjust this setting each time I log into Iru. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?

With the addition of support for windows machines I am now able to see every machine we have in a singular place. I can also remotely wipe and lock laptops in the case an employee leaves or is let go. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Navigation, Smart BluePrints, and Surprisingly Helpful Support"

5/5

What do you like best about Iru?

I like the idea around "BluePrints" it really helps me organize my fleet in very refined ways. Overall, the interface is effortless to navigate and follow. There is not a single feature that does not have an explanation next to it, and if by chance I happen not to know what the feature does, I can reach out to the Iru bot, which is surprisingly good. If the bot cannot help, human support is only a click away. I like that I can integrate my Slack so that if I am not logged into my admin dashboard, I still see relevant alerts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Iru?

This one is minimal, I do not like that I can still see the old logo in some places, but this is purely cosmetic. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?

Iru is allowing me to keep strong governance on my device fleet. I am able to pass audits easier knowing that my devices have this tool installed. It's also storing most of my device serial numbers and locations so I do not have to jump around to find things. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Intuitive UI and Support That Truly Helps"

4.5/5

What do you like best about Iru?

The UI is the standout. It's intuitive enough that I can move through it quickly and show someone else how to use it without much explaining, which matters when you're the only IT person at a small school. Support has been good too. When I had questions they got on a call and helped me brainstorm solutions instead of just pointing me at documentation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Iru?

The main thing I'd like to see improve is deployment reliability. During rollouts and updates I spend a fair amount of time chasing down devices that haven't picked up what they were sent. Getting that to land consistently would save me real time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?

Iru handles app deployment across our iPad fleet. We run a range of app profiles depending on grade level and use case, and it lets me push the right set of apps to the right devices without touching each one. For a school running a lot of iPads with one person managing them, that's the core value. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy to Use MDM"

5/5

What do you like best about Iru?

Easy to implement and manage on the IT side. Iru is easy to navigate, easy to manage integrations, and easy to manage individual devices. They easily integrate with all the main tools we have in our tech stack and don't drag down the performance of our devices. I've always had great support from Iru - from the sales side all the way to the technical side. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Iru?

There aren't really any things that I dislike. There are some areas that could be improved, but overall, they've taken feedback and implemented it well over time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?

We needed an easy to deploy and manage MDM solution. We migrated from another MDM to Iru because it was easier to use and easier to manage things like patching/updates. This gives us the peace of mind of knowing that all of our user devices are staying compliant with our policies. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Mac-Friendly MDM with Seamless Apple Business Manager Setup and Outstanding Support"

5/5

What do you like best about Iru?

Iru is clearly built with Mac environments in mind, and that’s been a huge win for us. As a fully remote workers’ comp insurance company, we needed something that simply works without a lot of overhead—and Iru delivers. The MDM capabilities are robust while still being easy to manage, and the interface is clean and intuitive.

Its connection with Apple Business Manager makes deploying apps and provisioning devices incredibly straightforward, which is especially helpful for remote onboarding. I’m also able to manage and deploy Microsoft 365 apps across our fleet seamlessly, without friction. On top of that, their team went a step further and helped us build custom scripts to enforce additional tools like remote screen-sharing software and cloud storage sync utilities. That flexibility, along with the hands-on support, was genuinely appreciated—particularly during our onboarding process.

Overall, onboarding new users and devices is very smooth, and their chat and tech support are fast, helpful, and knowledgeable. That makes a real difference in day-to-day operations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Iru?

There’s not much to complain about so far. As with any platform, there are always small features I wish were included in the price, but nothing that has impacted our day-to-day operations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?

Iru has completely transformed how we manage IT for a fully remote team. I’m the only IT resource supporting ~50 employees, and before Iru, everything was manual: screen-sharing into individual machines to troubleshoot issues, fix user mistakes, run updates, and make sure devices stayed compliant with our standards. It was time-consuming and not scalable.

Provisioning was especially painful. If a machine failed, building a replacement from scratch to meet our specifications and security requirements could take an entire day. That simply wasn’t sustainable as we grew.

With Iru, especially combined with Apple Business Manager, we can now deploy, remediate, and manage devices in a fraction of the time. Devices can be configured quickly and consistently, policies are enforced automatically, and I no longer have to constantly “check in” on every machine.

As we scaled from 15 to 50 employees in about a year, Iru was a true lifesaver. It allowed us to grow without needing to expand IT headcount, while also improving consistency, security, and overall efficiency. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlined Apple Device Management with an Easy Interface and Excellent Support"

5/5

What do you like best about Iru?

We love the managment tools it gives us to prevent loss and steamline setup of devices when onboarding / offboarding teammates.

The process is straightforward and interface is easy to use.

It also integrates perfectly with our Apple devices to prevent headaches of needing to know everything about the backend of the systems.

The pricing is within budget and support we recieve when needed is excellent.

I have yet to utilize the AI tools, but I trust that they will add to the overall value and performance of the product. I also expect the AI tools will streamline the performance of the enrollment process and save me time daily. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Iru?

I wish there were a mobile companion app that offered the same level of management, so I could handle things at a moment’s notice right from my pocket. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?

It has provided emergency, direct, and simplified management of our company devices, resulting in zero loss of devices and no downtime since implementation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Intuitive Blueprinting and Smooth Apple Device Onboarding with Iru"

4.5/5

What do you like best about Iru?

What I like most about Iru is the combination of its blueprinting functionality and overall ease of use. The platform is very intuitive, which makes managing Apple devices accessible even without a dedicated IT team.

The blueprinting feature allows us to standardize configurations, security settings, and applications across all devices with minimal effort. This not only improves consistency, but also saves us a significant amount of time in day-to-day management.

Onboarding new users is also very smooth. The enrollment process is straightforward, and users can simply log in with their Microsoft 365 credentials. Within an hour, devices are fully configured and ready to use, creating a seamless experience for both IT and end users.

Overall, Iru strikes a strong balance between usability, automation, and efficient onboarding for our Mac-only environment.

Coming from no prior solution, the investment initially feels significant. However, we strongly believe that a well-implemented MDM solution is essential nowadays, both from a security and operational perspective. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Iru?

The initial implementation requires some time and effort, especially if you have general IT affinity but not a deep technical background. Setting up integrations (such as with Microsoft Entra ID) and properly configuring blueprints can involve a fair amount of trial and error.

That said, it is definitely manageable. Iru provides solid documentation and tutorials, and their live chat support is very responsive and helpful when you run into issues.

One area for improvement would be offering more structured implementation support. For example, an optional paid onboarding or guided setup service could help organizations get up and running faster and with more confidence, especially those without a dedicated IT team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?

Before using Iru, we didn’t have a centralized way to manage and secure our Apple devices. Device setup was largely manual, which made onboarding time-consuming and increased the risk of inconsistencies in configurations and security settings.

Iru solves this by providing a structured and automated way to manage our entire device fleet. With blueprints and automated policies, we can ensure that every device is configured consistently and meets our security standards from the start.

This has significantly improved our onboarding process — new employees can be up and running within an hour — and reduced the time spent on ongoing device management. It also gives us much better control and visibility over our environment, which is essential from both an operational and security perspective.

For a small consultancy without a dedicated IT department, this has made a noticeable difference in efficiency and reliability. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Smooth and Feature-Packed MDM Solution"

3.5/5

What do you like best about Iru?

I really like the level of polish Iru brings compared to alternatives. My personal favorite feature is Passport, which allows you to merge existing user accounts with their IdP counterparts, providing centralized access control. Iru solves fleet management completely for us, handling everything from device assignments to app and OS updates. The initial setup was pretty straightforward, thanks to the template blueprints that got us up and running quickly. It's a fantastic tool that works very smoothly and is feature-packed to ensure any IT policies can be adhered to. The support is also amazing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Iru?

We've noticed some issues with enrollment every now and again, although we're not sure if the issue is with Iru or with Apple. The issue I'm talking about is that the device simply doesn't pull the MDM config, or that sometimes we have to erase a brand new machine to make sure the MDM config gets pulled AND that the Apple ID sign-in works. Having said that, this happens to a small percentage of onboarders, but it would be nice to have zero-touch deploy work a bit more reliably. I would love to see some better remote support tooling, ideally being able to bypass the entire TeamViewer setup with users. As for enrollment, I'd love it if we could confidently ship out devices to remote users and not have to worry about initial setup because Liftoff is a wonderful way to make sure users are set up properly. I wish it was a bit cheaper. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?

I use Iru for MDM of devices, managing app and OS updates, pushing profiles, and ensuring fleet accountability. It helps with access control using Passport, merges user accounts, and simplifies password management while speeding up onboarding. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
