"Secure, Great-Value Backups with Whole-Account Encryption and Tons of Storage"
4/5
Describe the project or task IDrive Online and SaaS Backup, Object Storage e2 helped with:

iDrive offers a comprehensive backup solution that includes local HDD backups, cloud-based full-drive backups, and centralized cloud storage. Users can manage their data securely with trusted encryption and access it from multiple devices. The service also supports mobile data backup, ensuring that contacts, calendars, photos, and videos are safely stored and easily retrievable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about IDrive Online and SaaS Backup, Object Storage e2?

Whole-account encryption (when configured at account creation) was my primary deciding factor in choosing iDrive over its competitors. My second deciding factor was iDrive’s ability to do full-disk backups and/or file-and-folder backups.

The value is especially good, too. I received 75% off my first year after searching the web for a discount code, and I’m also being offered a refund on that first year simply for providing this review. Is this a paid review or not, since I’m getting reimbursed for my year’s usage? IDK—you decide. Take my review with a grain of salt if you must.

For the price, the storage space is competitive, and if you look at the additional storage included for cloud backups (if you buy 5TB, you get an additional 5TB of cloud drive storage), it feels market-leading. It’s encrypted as well, and it doesn’t count against your core allocation of drive space for file/folder and full-disk backups. I’m still getting my head around how to use the two buckets of storage most effectively, but I’m thrilled to have all the space—even if I were paying the full $99 annually. "Faultless, worry-free data backup of my entire digital life!"
5/5
What do you like best about IDrive Online and SaaS Backup, Object Storage e2?

I like the fact that once my account is setup and connected to my accounts - iphone, MS365 and dropbox - all backups are automatic and I dont have to worry about them at all and having just checked the backup history - for the last month - the performance has been faultless and worry free - also the support and onborading has been fantastic too - when we first started out I had lots of questions which were all answered in a language I could understand - I am an end user with around 3Tb of crucial data and am not a tech so the UI has to be easy to understand - this data covers my businesses and my own personal digital life too - I use it from a mac without any issues at all the integration is seemless. Even thoiugh it was not a deciding factor in my purchasing decision - the pricing is VERY attractive and fair - I have not used any of the AI/Intelligence powered capabailities features so far - but might look at them later on if they can help my digital backup process. All our backups with iDrive are automated Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IDrive Online and SaaS Backup, Object Storage e2?

Honestly - right now - I cannot think of anything that I dislike - usually, when working with new processes/apps, if I were to find something that I truly disliked - I would stop using it and move on to something else - something I have not even thought of doing so far with iDrive Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great Value Storage with Fast, Easy Access Across Devices."
5/5
What do you like best about IDrive Online and SaaS Backup, Object Storage e2?

IDrive Online offers far better value for money than other well known sites. To get the storage I have now with those provides would cost far more. The app also isnt laggy to access so I can easily log in and show off my travels Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IDrive Online and SaaS Backup, Object Storage e2?

I haven't found anything that I do not like about the product. It is easy to access on various formats (phone, laptop etc) and the biggest win is the price for my storage Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Affordable backup with real private-key encryption"
5/5
What do you like best about IDrive Online and SaaS Backup, Object Storage e2?

I use the IDrive Mini 100GB plan for personal file storage, and the value at this price tier is what brought me in. The desktop app and web interface are both clean and uncluttered, so I set up my first scheduled backup in under ten minutes without reading documentation. The feature that matters most to me is the private encryption key. Setting my own key means IDrive itself cannot read my files, which is a real privacy commitment rather than a marketing claim, and it is the reason I trust it with personal documents. Performance has been solid: incremental backups run in the background without slowing my machine down, and restoring a single file takes only a few clicks rather than a full recovery process. For what I pay, getting both the storage and zero-knowledge encryption is strong value, and I am planning to move up to a larger storage tier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IDrive Online and SaaS Backup, Object Storage e2?

The private encryption key is a genuine strength, but it comes with no safety net, and I do not think the setup flow signposts this clearly enough. If you lose that key, your data is permanently unrecoverable, and a first-time user could select that option without fully understanding the consequence. A stronger warning or a mandatory confirmation step would help. My first full backup also took considerably longer than I anticipated, which was manageable but worth knowing in advance. On onboarding, the initial setup was straightforward, but I worked most of it out by exploring the interface rather than being guided, so a short walkthrough on first launch would improve the experience. I have not needed any third-party integrations on a personal plan, so I cannot speak to how well that side works. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Affordable, Reliable Backup with Plenty of Storage and a Friendly UI"
4.5/5
What do you like best about IDrive Online and SaaS Backup, Object Storage e2?

I like how they give a very generous amount of storage for a low price, you cannot find 500GB for 10 bucks these days except for IDrive anywhere on the internet. I also like how it automatically backs up my precious folder with my memories because I have a very old Mac that can suddenly stop working and I don't want to lose my memories in the folder. Using this service makes me less worried for my computer to stop working one day. The application runs good on macOS 12 that it doesn't crash and it is smooth even on an old mac. I do plan to put my music and google drive photos in the service as well now that I trust the service more. Its UI is very friendly that it is easy to navigate its features, especially at night with its dark mode. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IDrive Online and SaaS Backup, Object Storage e2?

What I don't like about IDrive is that it doesn't have a pinned option for priority folders in the cloud backup section, making me need to access my folder on a 4 second delay instead of a neat pinned folder option. Its mobile app is somewhat bare-bones, it could use Apple's Liquid Glass to feel more premium. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Reliable, Fast and Easy-to-Use Backup Solution"
5/5
What do you like best about IDrive Online and SaaS Backup, Object Storage e2?

I’ve been very satisfied with IDrive so far. The software is well organized, intuitive, and easy to use, which makes managing backups straightforward.

Upload and download speeds have also been very good in my experience, and I haven’t experienced any server availability issues so far. Everything has been reliable whenever I needed to access my backups.

Overall, IDrive has made a very positive impression on me and has been a reliable and user-friendly backup solution so far. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IDrive Online and SaaS Backup, Object Storage e2?

One improvement I would find very useful is the option to see thumbnail previews for image files directly inside folders. This would make it much faster and easier to identify and select the correct files without having to open them individually. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Solid, Reliable Offsite Backups for My Linux Home Server"
4.5/5
What do you like best about IDrive Online and SaaS Backup, Object Storage e2?

IDrive has been a solid offsite backup solution for my Linux home server. Setup was straightforward using the Docker container, and once I got through the initial full backup of about 500GB, the nightly incremental backups have been running reliably with zero failures. The web dashboard is clean and provides clear visibility into backup status, logs, and storage usage. The support documentation is adequate for self-hosted setups, and overall I’m happy with the service so far. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IDrive Online and SaaS Backup, Object Storage e2?

So far, I haven’t encountered any issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Good Native Mac App for Smooth, Effortless Backups"
4.5/5
What do you like best about IDrive Online and SaaS Backup, Object Storage e2?

The practicality and performance of the native Mac app are outstanding. It makes setting up backup routines and restoring files very easy, running smoothly in the background without disrupting my workflow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IDrive Online and SaaS Backup, Object Storage e2?

The inconsistency between the Mac application and the web dashboard is highly frustrating. I performed the same backup four times, and the app always acted as if it were backing up new files that had been missed. Since the web platform constantly displays fewer files than my local folder, it leaves me anxious and uncertain whether all my files were properly backed up. "Simple, Reliable Backup with Great Price and Usability"
5/5
What do you like best about IDrive Online and SaaS Backup, Object Storage e2?

I find IDrive Online and SaaS Backup, Object Storage e2 simple to use and understand. It has been very reliable for my needs. The pricing is great, and I've had no issues with the backups between my NAS and IDrive. The email notifications are really appreciated, especially since I run my backups on a weekly schedule. Setting it up was dead simple, just a couple of mouse clicks and logins, which made the process very straightforward for me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IDrive Online and SaaS Backup, Object Storage e2?

It would be nice if the interface used a more traditional folder tree interface, but once I figured out the object icons it was not difficult. Right now I have to drill down and then pick what I want backed up. A traditional tree would allow you to expand to see the parent folder and the children at one time. Then you could drive everything from one window with check boxes, or drag and drop into a separate area what you want backed up. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Simple, Reliable Backup with Minor Speed Hiccups"
4.5/5
What do you like best about IDrive Online and SaaS Backup, Object Storage e2?

I like that IDrive Online Backup provides an off-site cloud backup that I can access whenever I have an Internet connection. It's easy to install and runs seamlessly in the background, so I don't really notice it's active. I appreciate not having to worry about it because as long as I can see the icon in the top menu bar of my Mac, I know it's running. The continuous backup feature keeps my off-site data always up to date. I also found the initial setup very straightforward, with no complications at all. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IDrive Online and SaaS Backup, Object Storage e2?

It could probably run a little faster. iDrive isn't the fastest backup I've tried; Backblaze seems quicker in my experience. It's also a bit messy at times. But overall, iDrive is simple to use and just runs, so if it takes a bit longer, it doesn't really matter. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
