"A Game-Changer for IT Documentation"

What do you like best about Hudu?

What I love about Hudu is the simplicity and efficiency of its interface, combined with the powerful Hudini AI assistant. It has become an essential tool in our daily operations, and we have no regrets about choosing this platform. The support team is incredibly responsive and effective, every request we've submitted so far has either been successfully resolved or added to the development roadmap.

The growing number of integrations with MSP tools is a huge plus, making interoperability between systems seamless and helping consolidate all our information in one place. The team also does a great job with communication, through regular webinars and detailed release notes.

We really appreciate the simplicity of the Central KB, which makes it easy to consolidate all of our shared documentation in one place. The password verification feature is also very helpful, as it leverages Have I Been Pwned to provide a clear overview of compromised or weak passwords across our environment. We also value the modularity of the “Assets Layouts,” which lets us add information using dynamic, custom fields that integrate seamlessly with filters. Lastly, the search functionality is highly effective and makes finding relevant content quick and intuitive.

After testing four different IT documentation systems, I can confidently say Hudu stands out as the best by far.

What do you dislike about Hudu?

Some integrations are still missing, but it's clear they are actively being developed. The platform is evolving rapidly, which gives us confidence in its long-term value. There are still several shortcomings in photo management, a feature that has been promised for improvement for months, yet no updates have been implemented so far.

Billing also needs improvement: currently, adding a license requires going through an external portal, "Hudu HQ", which adds unnecessary complexity to the process.

Additionally, it's difficult to know when a document has been added, whether directly within a client workspace or in the Central KB section. There are no alerts, which reduces visibility. I intend to suggest this as a feature request. In the meantime, I’ve implemented a workaround using flags, and I’ve trained my team to use them appropriately in our context to tag documentation as to be reviewed, approved, and so on.

What problems is Hudu solving and how is that benefiting you?

Hudu has become indispensable in our interactions with various client environments. It enables us to operate across different infrastructures by providing fast and structured access to key information. This streamlined access is crucial when working under pressure or across multiple setups.

Another major advantage is the client portal. It’s a valuable asset when collaborating alongside external teams, allowing us to securely and easily share information through a single, modern, and user-friendly platform.

"Hudu solved our customer documentation problem"

What do you like best about Hudu?

Hudu integrates with our core tools: PSA, RMM, and monitoring platforms, making it a natural fit within our MSP tech stack. This integration streamlines documentation workflows, keeps information consistently up to date, and reduces the time and effort required to onboard new clients.

What do you dislike about Hudu?

Hudu's integrations can also introduce clutter. For example, decommissioned devices aren’t always automatically removed, leading to outdated or irrelevant records accumulating over time. This requires periodic manual cleanup to maintain data accuracy.

What problems is Hudu solving and how is that benefiting you?

As an MSP, having accurate, accessible, and up-to-date documentation is essential for delivering effective support. Hudu enables this by offering a user-friendly interface and integrations that keep documentation current and relevant across our tools. Beyond customer-specific information, we also rely on Hudu to centralize internal documentation, such as our standardized tech stack, onboarding procedures, and operational workflows, ensuring consistency across the team.

"Indispensable tool for MSPs"

What do you like best about Hudu?

What I appreciate most about Hudu is the perfect balance between simplicity and completeness. It is a platform truly designed for those working in the MSP world: every feature has a clear purpose, and you never get lost in unnecessary frills or complications. The organization of the documentation is extremely intuitive, and thanks to the ability to link articles, passwords, assets, and SOPs together, you can have an orderly and centralized view of everything needed to manage a client. In summary: Hudu has become the reference point for IT documentation management in our company. After trying it, it becomes difficult to imagine going back.

What do you dislike about Hudu?

What I find improvable in Hudu is mainly related to two aspects:

The first concerns the graphical interface: although functional, in some areas it appears a bit outdated and less fluid compared to other more modern solutions. It's not a real problem from an operational point of view, but a small restyling would make the user experience more pleasant, especially for those who use it many hours a day.

The second point is the management of translations: Hudu is very oriented towards the Anglo-Saxon market, and at the moment a fully translated version in Italian is not available. This can represent a barrier for some team members who are less comfortable with English. Also, the documentation templates and default contents are all in English, which requires some time to be adapted.

An element I would like to see among the main features of Hudu is an automatic summary table of active services for each client. Today, to achieve the same result, I am forced to rely on external solutions. Another very convenient element would be the ability to clone passwords.

That said, these are secondary aspects compared to the overall value of the platform, which remains really solid and well thought out.

What problems is Hudu solving and how is that benefiting you?

Hudu solves one of the most critical problems for those working in the MSP or IT field: the organization and centralization of technical documentation related to clients. Before adopting it, much information was scattered among Excel files, notes, emails, and different platforms, with the constant risk of errors, duplications, or worse, forgetfulness. Thanks to Hudu, today we have a single point of reference where we can keep track of everything: assets, passwords, operating procedures, SOPs, client guides, active services, checklists, important documents, and much more. This not only makes the team's work more efficient but drastically reduces response times, especially in emergency situations.

"Great documentation software with a lot of integrations"

What do you like best about Hudu?

Affordable documentation software with various integrations (such as NinjaOne, Microsoft 365, and Cloudflare). It also receives regular updates and is very clear and easy to use!

What do you dislike about Hudu?

A technician license is needed if you want to let a client update some own documentation.

What problems is Hudu solving and how is that benefiting you?

Gives me a single view over multiple products and makes it easier to manage.

"Great customizable documentation tool"

What do you like best about Hudu?

Customizability. Clear roadmap and feedback. Being able to selfhost is a big plus too.

What do you dislike about Hudu?

Granular permissions. Portal for clients could be better as well. Permissions should be more granular here too. Custom field matching for integrations would be great. (I know it's coming soon)

What problems is Hudu solving and how is that benefiting you?

Centralized documentation that helps us share info among colleagues and clients. Automate documentation as well via the api and integrations

"Extremely Flexible and Powerful Documentation Platform"

What do you like best about Hudu?

Hudu has been a fantastic addition to our MSP/MSSP stack. It’s incredibly flexible, allowing us to structure documentation, assets, passwords, and SOPs in a way that suits our workflows—not the other way around.

The UI is clean and intuitive, and integrations with tools like Microsoft 365 and Duo make it even more powerful. We’ve also found the support team to be responsive and helpful.

If you're looking for a documentation platform that gives you control and scales with your business, Hudu is hard to beat.

What do you dislike about Hudu?

So far nothing. I'm pretty happy with it

What problems is Hudu solving and how is that benefiting you?

Hudu is helping us centralize and standardize our documentation across all clients and internal systems. Before Hudu, our documentation was scattered and inconsistent, making it hard to onboard team members or provide efficient support.

Now, we have:

- A single source of truth for credentials, assets, and procedures

- Customizable templates that speed up documentation and maintain consistency

- Integrations with Microsoft 365, and others that reduce duplication

- A secure way to manage and share passwords with team members

This has improved our team's efficiency, reduced onboarding time, and elevated the overall quality of our service delivery.
