## HeyTaco Reviews
 ### 1. Recognition Made Easy - One Taco at a Time

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mariana D. | Customer Success Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2026

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

This is my first time using Hey Taco at a company and I'm genuinely impressed! It's such a simple but effective way to recognize hard work and motivate the team to give their best every day. What I love most is how it brings a culture of appreciation into everyday interactions.
The special touches like birthday and work anniversary tacos are a lovely bonus — those little moments of recognition go a long way in boosting confidence and making people feel valued. Highly recommend it to any team looking to build a more positive and motivated workplace culture! 🌮

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

I would like to see my avaialable/redeemable tacos integrated in slack

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

making recognition easy and consistent. It's so simple to let someone know their effort didn't go unnoticed, whether it's for a big win or just showing up with a great attitude.

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> Mariana, what a wonderful first impression — we're so happy HeyTaco is bringing that culture of appreciation to your team! 🌮 And good news: you can already see your redeemable taco balance right in Slack on the HeyTaco app Home tab. Hope that hits the spot!

 ### 2. Tacos, not just for eating anymore

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** DeAnna R. | QA Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 18, 2022

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

What I like best about HeyTaco is how it encourages team appreciation in such a fun and lightweight way. It’s simple, but meaningful—being able to give a taco with a quick message of thanks or recognition helps build a stronger, more positive culture without feeling forced. It makes people feel seen, and I love that it gives everyone, from the quiet achievers to the daily rockstars, a chance to be celebrated.

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

I hate to run out of tacos.
One thing I dislike about HeyTaco is that it can sometimes feel transactional or superficial if people use it to give out tacos without a meaningful message. While the intention is great, without context or sincerity, it can lose its impact over time. It would be helpful if the platform encouraged more thoughtful recognition or had gentle prompts to add context when giving tacos.

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Giving gratification to fellow employees.

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> Thank you so much for the thoughtful review — we really appreciate both the praise and the honest feedback.

We love hearing that HeyTaco feels fun and meaningful for your team. Creating a lightweight way to help people feel seen — from quiet achievers to daily rockstars — is exactly what we aim for.

Running out of tacos is intentional 😄 The daily limit helps keep recognition thoughtful rather than automatic.

And you’re absolutely right — the message is what gives a taco its meaning. We design HeyTaco to encourage sincere, peer-driven appreciation, and your feedback about adding gentle prompts for more context is a great suggestion.

Thanks again for helping us keep recognition authentic and impactful. 🌮

 ### 3. A Fun, Rewarding Way to Recognize Coworkers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Janea B. | Licensing Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 15, 2026

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

It’s a cute, fun way to give positive recognition to your coworkers. I also like that it lets them collect tacos along the way and trade them in for actual tacos, gifts, or services.

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

I don’t really see many downsides. You do receive a lot of promotional emails and messages, and you’re not really told how the stickers translate into how many tacos, so it can be a little confusing.

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We’re a remote-first company, and this helps solve the challenge of giving employees positive recognition. It’s been a simple way to boost morale across the team.

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> Janea, so glad HeyTaco is helping your remote team stay connected and recognized! 🌮 On the messages — good news: you can disable any notifications you don't want in your settings. And for the sticker-to-taco conversion, the article below has all the details to clear that up!

 ### 4. Encourages Kudos, but Rewards Quantity Over Meaningful Recognition

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ricardo Alan V. | Sr. Java Developer (L3), CyberSecurity Ch., Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 14, 2026

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

It encourages kudos and teamwork, which improves team communication a lot.

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

It doesn't really filters anything or reward meaningful interactions.

It's a sad race of which person automacally gives their 5 tacos everyday,.
And it's sad that is about quantity and not quality, very often the "giver" is just a person which tacos are meaningless, and receivers are HR or other people with high ranks, which makes them work with lots of people.

What is the purpose of this? Bosses are already bosses, highlight them is useless.

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Nothing at all

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> Ricardo, thank you for taking the time to share this — your frustration makes total sense, and you're raising something really important. 🌮 Recognition only means something when it's genuine, and we completely agree that auto-giving tacos without a reason defeats the purpose. HeyTaco works best when each taco comes with a specific message about why someone is being recognized — that's what makes it feel meaningful rather than mechanical. If the leaderboard is adding to the pressure, admins also have the option to turn it off entirely. We hope these help shift things in a better direction for your team!

 ### 5. Fun, Simple Recognition That Builds Team Culture

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2026

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

HeyTaco makes recognition fun, simple, and genuinely engaging. I like how easy it is to give shoutouts in real time, whether it’s for big wins or small everyday contributions. The taco-based system adds a light, playful touch that encourages more frequent appreciation without feeling forced. It’s also great how it integrates seamlessly into tools like Slack, making it part of the natural workflow instead of another platform to check. Overall, it helps build a more positive, connected team culture.

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

One challenge with HeyTaco is that over time, recognition can become uneven. You often see the same group of employees consistently giving and receiving tacos, while others are unintentionally left out. This can create a sense of exclusion or make the recognition feel less representative of the whole team. Without mindful participation, it risks reinforcing existing social circles instead of encouraging broader, more inclusive appreciation.

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

HeyTaco solves the problem of recognition being inconsistent, delayed, or overlooked altogether. In many teams, it’s easy for contributions—especially smaller, day-to-day efforts, to go unnoticed. By making it quick and easy to give real-time appreciation, HeyTaco helps build a culture where recognition is more frequent and visible.

For me, that translates into feeling more connected to the team and more aware of what others are contributing. It creates a positive feedback loop where people are encouraged to support each other, celebrate wins, and stay engaged. Even small shoutouts can boost morale and make the workplace feel more collaborative and appreciative overall.

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> Thank you so much for this thoughtful review -- it genuinely made our day! 🌮

We love hearing that the real-time shoutouts and Slack integration are making recognition feel like a natural part of your team's day rather than a chore. That's exactly what we're going for.

Your feedback about recognition clustering around the same people is worth taking seriously. You're right that the tool works best when participation is intentional and spread across the whole team. A few things that can help: team-level goals (like a group taco milestone), manager nudges to recognize quieter contributors, and just being mindful of who you haven't high-fived lately. Sometimes the best tacos go to the people doing solid, unglamorous work behind the scenes.

We're always thinking about how to make recognition feel more inclusive by default, and feedback like yours genuinely shapes where we take the product. Thanks again for sharing and for being part of making your team a more connected place. 🙌

 ### 6. HeyTaco boosts team morale and is an excellent way to show appreciation to coworkers across depts.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2026

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

HeyTaco integrates seamlessly into the Slack software, and the many different ways to "gift" tacos make it easier than ever to send appreciation and shoutouts to team members, from messaging tacos to sending stickers to leaving taco emojis on others' messages. I appreciate the monthly taco reports, too, which focus more on how many tacos a person gives than receives -- it's a great reminder that the purpose of these tacos is to lift up and celebrate one another. It has been a great app to use for my team.

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

HeyTaco is a great app and platform; my staff has a taco rewards shop, which can only be accessed through the browser version of Slack. It would be nicer if the rewards shop could be accessed directly on the desktop version of Slack, but otherwise no complaints!

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

HeyTaco allows for an easy-to-use, effective integration of cultural values into workplace communication, especially in showing gratitude and appreciation.

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> This made our day. We love how you called out the many ways to give tacos — messages, stickers, emoji drive-bys — because recognition should meet people where they already are, not require a special ceremony.

We’re especially glad the monthly taco reports resonated. Focusing on giving rather than receiving is very intentional for us. It’s a gentle reminder that recognition isn’t about scorekeeping — it’s about lifting others up and reinforcing the behaviors and values that make teams thrive.

On the Taco Shop access: thank you for that feedback. You’re right — today it lives in the browser version of Slack, and we know having it available directly in the desktop app would make things even smoother. Feedback like this helps guide where we invest next.

Most of all, we love hearing that HeyTaco helps integrate cultural values directly into everyday communication. When gratitude shows up naturally in the flow of work, culture stops being a poster on the wall and starts being something people actually feel.

Thanks for being such a thoughtful taco champion 🌮✨

 ### 7. A Fun Way to Celebrate Small Wins, Visible, and Fun

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2026

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

What’s most helpful about HeyTaco is that it makes appreciation simple and visible. It encourages small, frequent recognition instead of waiting for big moments, which helps build a positive team culture. I also like that it feels lightweight and fun, so giving recognition doesn’t feel forced; it becomes a natural part of the day.

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

One thing I don’t love about HeyTaco is that sometimes it can start to feel routine, and the recognition becomes more habitual than meaningful. When that happens, it can lose a bit of its impact. It works best when people take a moment to be specific about why they’re giving appreciation.

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

HeyTaco helps solve the problem of recognition getting overlooked in day-to-day work. It makes appreciation quick and visible, so small contributions don’t go unnoticed. For me, it’s motivating to receive acknowledgment from teammates, and it also reminds me to recognize others more consistently. It helps create a more positive and supportive team environment overall.

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> This is such a thoughtful reflection — thank you for putting words to something many teams feel 🌮💛

We love that you called out small, frequent recognition. That steady drumbeat of appreciation is exactly what builds culture over time.

And you’re absolutely right about the “routine” risk. Any habit — even a good one — can start to feel automatic if we’re not intentional. A few ways teams keep tacos meaningful and fresh:

Encourage specificity. A short “for jumping in on that client call yesterday” makes recognition land much harder than a general shoutout.

Tie tacos to values. Many teams connect tacos to core values so appreciation reinforces what matters most.

Create light rituals. Taco Tuesday themes, monthly highlights, or rotating “gratitude captains” can bring new energy.

Model depth from leaders. When managers give thoughtful, detailed tacos, it sets the tone for everyone else.

HeyTaco works best when it’s a tool for real appreciation — not autopilot recognition. We’re glad it’s helping create a more positive, supportive environment for you, and we appreciate you highlighting what keeps it impactful.

Thanks for helping keep the taco economy meaningful 🌮✨

 ### 8. Makes Shouting Out Co-Workers Easy

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Colleen S. | Senior Strategist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2026

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

Being able to s/o my co-workers is really valuable. I think that, sometimes, as a society, we can forget to give positive feedback, so it’s great to have a Slack extension for it right in our workspace that keeps it top of mind.

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

I think one downside to using Hey Taco is that you can’t give a taco to multiple people at once. It would be helpful to allow a small cap—maybe 3 or 4 people in a message—so that if several teammates are mentioned in the same message, they can all receive a taco.

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Positive Feedback, Knowledge of Accomplishments across teams in the company

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> We love this reflection — keeping positive feedback top of mind is exactly why HeyTaco lives right in Slack 🌮💛 Those everyday shout-outs add up.

On giving tacos to multiple people: good news — you can already do this! 🎉
You can tag multiple teammates in a single message and include the taco amount, and each tagged person will receive that number of tacos.

For example:

Tag 3–4 people and add “1 taco” → each person gets 1 taco

Tag the same group and add “2 tacos” → each person gets 2 tacos

If you ever want to give different amounts to different people, sending separate messages keeps it clean and intentional.

We’re especially glad to hear HeyTaco helps surface accomplishments across teams — that visibility is a huge part of building connection and appreciation at scale.

Thanks for sharing the love and helping make recognition a daily habit 🌮✨

 ### 9. HeyTaco encourages peer kudos and creates a culture of appreciation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jennifer K. | Senior Project Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 06, 2026

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

HeyTaco lets our team send kudos in a tangible meaningful way. It encourages and awesome team culture where kudos are encouraged and rewarded with gift cards or donations to our Team's favorite charities. It's a pretty awesome program and I would argue some of the best internal peer award systems I've seen.

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

Not much to complain about sincerely, love it!

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Morale and Culture; 2 things that are hard to manage even if your leadership is doing everything right. Creating an approved space and system to give each other praise is such a huge boon to morale and makes everyone feel appreciated and included.

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> Wow — thank you for such a generous review. We’re truly honored by your words.

Hearing that HeyTaco is helping create a space where kudos feel meaningful (and not just performative) is exactly why we built it. Pairing peer recognition with options like gift cards or charitable donations is meant to amplify appreciation — not replace it — and it’s amazing to see that balance working for your team.

You’re also absolutely right: morale and culture are hard to “manage” directly. Our goal has always been to make recognition something the team owns together, not something that lives only with leadership.

Thanks again for being part of the HeyTaco community — we’re lucky to support teams like yours. 🌮

 ### 10. Motivating, Friendly Interface with Fast Rewards

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amaryllis O. | Support analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2026

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

It gives you motivation to do a good work. The interface is really friendly, it helps you to integrate with other teams, the performance is greay (the rewards get to you really fast), i think its worth the money,

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

I dont dislike anything, everythings great

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sometimes when you work online, you can feel forgotten or not rewarded enoug, With hey taco you give everyone motivation

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> Amaryllis.- thank you for the kind words! Working online can be lonely, and we are happy to hear that tacos make you feel less forgotten! ❤️

 ### 11. HeyTaco Brings Our Team Together Like Nothing Else

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2026

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

I love how HeyTaco helps bring teams together. I’ve worked with a lot of organizations that want to build strong team support, but my current one is the only one that uses HeyTaco, and I’ve never been part of a closer team.

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

I really wish HeyTaco would send reminders when my stickers are about to expire. I end up wasting stickers all the time because I forget to give them out in time.

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I think a huge problem many companies have is a lack of employee and peer recognition, or they have recognition tools in place but people don’t actually use them. HeyTaco makes recognition super easy and fun, and my organization uses it all the time. As a result, there’s a lot of employee recognition happening, which really makes people feel good.

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> Ooo we love this one — because it’s good news 🌮✨

First: thank you for sharing that feedback. Requests like this are exactly how we shape HeyTaco.

And here’s the update: stickers no longer expire. 🙌

We heard from teams that it felt frustrating to unlock something fun and then worry about “using it in time.” So we changed it. Once you’ve unlocked a sticker, it’s yours to use — no countdown, no disappearing act.

What still resets is unlock progress toward earning new stickers (to encourage consistent recognition habits), but your earned stickers are safe and ready whenever the moment strikes.

We’re incredibly grateful for feedback like yours. A lot of our best improvements come directly from thoughtful users who care about making recognition better.

Keep the stickers flowing 🌮💛

 ### 12. HeyTaco Makes Giving Kudos Feel Tangible and Fun

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 14, 2026

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

It’s a fun way to give kudos that actually feels tangible. In the corporate world, we don’t always call out the “good enough,” and HeyTaco helps remind us to do that.

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

I think there’s an opportunity to add a reminder if you haven’t given out all 10 tacos in a day. For example, a notification around 4:30 could let you know you still have “x number of tacos” available to give. That would encourage more usage.

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me make sure to shoutout my awesome teammates more. They deserve all the kudos I can give so I love it.

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> Thank you so much for this — and we love that you're so committed to making sure your teammates feel appreciated! 🌮 The end-of-day reminder idea is a great one, and we'll pass it along to the team. In the meantime, keep spreading those good vibes!

 ### 13. Fun Way to Share Appreciation, but Needs More Options Than Just Tacos

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nicholas D. | product developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 15, 2025

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

tacos are a fun way to spread some love through the workplace.

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

I would like to give hot dogs. I would like to give hugs. I'd like to give all sorts of other things. Would be cool if an org could allow for additional items other than tacos.. I know, I know.. but it wasn't like twitter started as a right wing propaganda tool -- that is just what it became. Initially it was to share low character count updates that allowed for fast engagement and trends to hit quickly allowing the sharing of events in real time across the world.

Maybe this is a really bad example, I don't think adding hot dogs or other things for people to give would lead in this direction.

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

employee morale? Or is it? When you have a limited amount of tacos, are only the people that are your high performers getting tacos? Is your team using tacos to help rise the people that don't get the attention?

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> Thanks so much for taking the time to leave such a thoughtful (and entertaining 😊) review!

We love hearing that tacos have been a fun way for your team to spread appreciation—creating moments of genuine “hey, I see you” is exactly what we’re here for 🌮

On the hot dogs / hugs / other things front: you’re definitely not the first person to ask! We’ve been very intentional about keeping one shared currency. It may sound small, but having a single, playful symbol helps teams build a common language of gratitude rather than fragmenting recognition into lots of different “things.” That consistency is what turns tacos from a novelty into a real habit. (Also, tacos have a pretty strong track record 😉)

Your question about morale and who receives tacos is an important one—and it gets to the heart of why HeyTaco is designed the way it is. The daily taco limit exists to encourage thoughtful, intentional recognition, not popularity contests or “spray and pray” shoutouts. When used well, we often see tacos go to people who might otherwise fly under the radar—helpful teammates, behind-the-scenes contributors, and folks doing the unglamorous but essential work.

Like any tool, the impact depends on how a team uses it, but our goal is always to make recognition more inclusive, more visible, and more human.

We really appreciate you sharing both the praise and the questions—it’s conversations like these that help teams get the most out of HeyTaco. 🌮💛

 ### 14. Tacos for everyone!!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Thiago R. | Solutions Architect, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 10, 2026

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

A new and fun way to show simple feelings like gratitude

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

might be biased answering this because I’m obsessed with fun and unconventional routines like the one HeyTaco brings. But for me, what’s really missing is something I value a lot, which is consistency, whether it shows up as recognition or as tacos. Lots of tacos for everyone!

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

anxiety around exchanged messages

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> Thiago, we love your enthusiasm — tacos for everyone indeed! 🌮 Great point on consistency; showing up regularly is what makes recognition really stick. We're glad HeyTaco is bringing some fun and positivity to your team's day!

 ### 15. Lightweight, Scalable Recognition for Remote-First Teams

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jordan R. | Director of accounts, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 14, 2026

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

Really low weight and high impact/scalable way to build in recognition into a remote-first work environment

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

Occasionally some small glitches with the usage of the stickers feature, but overall works very smoothly/effectively

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solves peer to peer recognition without leadership needing to facilitate it ongoing, and ties recognition to a very clear and easy to redeem rewards system

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> Jordan, this is such a great way to put it — lightweight but high impact is exactly what we're going for! 🌮 Sorry to hear about the occasional sticker glitches; if they pop up again, don't hesitate to reach out at help.heytaco.com so we can look into it. Thanks for the kind words!

 ### 16. Fun, Easy Way to Build Culture and Appreciation with HeyTaco

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 14, 2026

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

HeyTaco is great for immediately making new employees feel a part of the company culture, as well as maintaining that culture of respect, fun, and appreciation for employees along their career with a company! HeyTaco is fun and easy to use, motivational, and very interactive. It also rarely has down time and integrates very well with Slack.

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

Honestly, nothing. I hope every company I work with in my career uses HeyTaco!

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

HeyTaco is great for building a company culture, and giving a clear and easy avenue to thank coworkers for their hard work!

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

 ### 17. Motivating Peer Recognition with Real Rewards

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 06, 2026

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

I love that HeyTaco includes a monetary component, which is a significant motivation factor and truly rewards employees. I've been at places with just shout outs and visibility, so having this tangible reward is huge. I also think the increase in taco value by tenure is great, as it rewards employees for sticking around.

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

There nothing that I dislike about HeyTaco

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

HeyTaco helps recognize my teammates on their wins and efforts, making them feel valued with monetary recognition instead of just words. It truly rewards employees and motivates them.

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> Thank you for sharing this — we’re so glad HeyTaco strikes the right balance for you.

We agree that tangible rewards can be a powerful complement to recognition, especially when they’re paired with genuine appreciation rather than replacing it. The tenure-based taco value is an awesome way to reward long-term commitment while keeping recognition rooted in everyday moments and peer acknowledgment.

Really appreciate you taking the time to leave a review — feedback like this helps us keep that balance thoughtful and intentional. 🌮

 ### 18. We Love HeyTaco!! Worth It Once You See Everything It Offers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mahsa D. | COO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2026

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

We love HeyTaco!!

I have to say, I was skeptical about the value at first, until I learned more about everything they offer. Now I genuinely recommend using them.

On top of that, they seem like good people and are very open to feedback, in case that matters to you! :)

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

This is a tough one. I feel like whatever I dislike is just a setting I can change.

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps employees appreciate one another and recognize each other’s contributions through rewards.

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> Mahsa, thank you for the kind words 🌮❤️ This review made our day. Thank you for being a part of the Taco Economy!

 ### 19. Wonderful product that creates a fun encouraging atmosphere at work while boosting spirits.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lori P. | Data Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 14, 2026

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

The fun atmosphere. Way to thank people publicly for their hard work and support. It is easy to use. Our team is really engaged.

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

I haven't found anything that I dislike about HeyTaco yet.

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We mostly work remote so it is a way to bring us closer.

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> Lori, thank you so much for the kind words! 🌮 "Fun and encouraging" is exactly the vibe we're going for — and knowing HeyTaco is helping your remote team feel closer together makes it all worth it. Keep those tacos flying!

 ### 20. Great Team Building Addition to Slack!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Erica T. | Project Management Team Lead, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 03, 2026

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

I love that it seemlessly integrates into our regular workday. Our company is remote-first and this is a wonderful way to reward one another and spark joy amongst our various team members nationwide.

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

It's not quite as easy to find the stickers (ie. a Taco Boquet). It would be great if you could see your "taco shop" directly in Slack instead of logging into a browser and use it all in one spot.

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Celebrating our broader teams' wins and recognition.

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> We love hearing this — recognition that fits naturally into the workday is exactly what HeyTaco is built for 🌮💛 And we’re especially glad it’s sparking joy across a remote-first team.

On stickers: great news — you don’t need to leave Slack to give them. You can view and send stickers right in Slack using the /stickers command. That’ll show you the stickers you have available so you can drop a Taco Bouquet (or any other sticker) right where the celebration is happening.

The Taco Shop itself still lives in the browser for rewards and redemptions, but day-to-day recognition — tacos and stickers — can stay fully in Slack.

Thanks for sharing your experience and for helping celebrate wins across your team 🌮✨

 ### 21. Essential for Team Recognition, Could Use More Flexible Redemption Settings

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Leslie G. | Vice President of Customer Success, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 28, 2025

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

It really allows our team to celebrate each other and recognize the work and support that people are doing. We started using it during COVID as a means to stay connected and it's now become an integral part of our team culture. It is really easy to implement and use for both the management and the team members. And it's just a fun tool. We use it literally every day.

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

The only thing I can think of is that the settings for redemption could be more complex - we had to set up some different "levels" ourself for people who've been at the company different lengths of time and that would be a cool feature to have natively.

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Employee recognition in a remote environment
Keeping the workplace fun

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> Thank you so much for this thoughtful review — it means a lot to hear that HeyTaco became part of your culture during COVID and has stayed an everyday ritual 🌮

We love that it’s helping your team stay connected, recognized, and having fun — especially in a remote environment.

And thank you for the feedback around more advanced redemption settings. That’s a really thoughtful suggestion, and we appreciate you sharing how you’ve creatively built levels to support tenure. Ideas like this help shape how we think about future improvements.

Thanks again for being such an engaged part of the HeyTaco community!

 ### 22. A Fun, Public Way to Give Kudos—Stickers Make Sharing Tacos Easy

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 12, 2026

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

It's a public way to give kudos to a coworker and I like that stickers simplify giving tacos to multiple people at once. It's nice that tacos are also tied, if in a very minor way, to a potential real life reward.

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

I don't love how obtaining stickers is obfusfacted. I wish I better understood how to get them, because running out of stickers after a big project launch or a team event is kind of sad, because I only get 5 a day

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It just feels like a nice thing the company is doing for us as a remote-first company. I don't know if there are specific, defined problems being solved

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> This is such a thoughtful review — thank you for taking the time to share it 🌮

We love that you called out the public kudos piece. That’s exactly why HeyTaco exists: recognition shouldn’t live in DMs. It should live where everyone can see it, pile on, and feel it. Especially on remote-first teams where those small moments matter more than ever.

And yes to stickers making it easier to spread the taco love far and wide 🙌

On the sticker front — totally fair feedback. They’re intentionally earned (not unlimited), but we hear you that the “how” can feel a little mysterious. The goal is to keep them meaningful, but never confusing or frustrating — especially after a big project launch when the gratitude is flowing. We’re always looking at ways to make unlock energy clearer without turning it into a math problem.

Thanks again for sharing your experience. And may your next big launch come with fully stocked stickers 🌮✨

 ### 23. A Simple, Rewarding Way to Appreciate Colleagues

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joel C. | Software Engineer II, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 14, 2026

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

It's a simple way to show appreciation for colleagues and provides an incentive to do so regularly.

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

Honestly can't think of anything negative.

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The fact that it encourages recognition in a public way for every day achievements as opposed to just large overarching ones.

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> Joel, thank you for the kind words! 🌮 You nailed it — celebrating the everyday wins is just as important as the big ones. Keep those tacos flying!

 ### 24. Shoutouts That Strengthen Our Org-Wide Culture

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dan J. | Senior RevOps Consultant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 10, 2026

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

I like the ability to shout out teammates, and the resulting culture that activity drives org-wide

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

Idk, the taco thing feels "2010s trendy" but it's still effective

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

"shrinking the org" in a sense. I'm starting to see webs of task teams and lots of positivity

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> Dan, thanks so much for the kind words! 🌮 Love hearing that HeyTaco is helping shrink the org and build those positive team connections. And fair point on the tacos — they may be a little retro, but hey, so are breakfast burritos and we're not giving those up either. 😄

 ### 25. Fun, Easy Way to Celebrate Coworkers with HeyTaco

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shaina L. | Senior Account Executive, Client Service, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2026

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

HeyTaco is a FUN way to express thanks to your coworkers for everything they do! It has encouraged so many compliments (we use it all the time!) within our organization and it is fun and easy! We love sharing breakfast tacos and spicy tacos and have fun with it :)

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

I thought 5 tacos a day was a lot, but we actually could use more!

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

HeyTaco encourages frequent feedback and collaboration!

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> This review is pure taco joy 🌮🔥 — thank you for sharing it!

We love hearing how much fun your team is having with it (breakfast tacos and spicy tacos? elite combo). That playful energy is exactly what helps compliments turn into a real habit instead of a once-in-a-while thing.

On the 5 tacos a day — you’re not alone 😉 It sounds generous, and then suddenly it’s noon and they’re gone. That limit is very intentional. A daily cap keeps appreciation thoughtful and meaningful, while encouraging it to happen frequently instead of all at once. It also helps tacos keep their “wow” factor, rather than turning into background noise.

The good news: if your team is constantly running out, that’s usually a sign of a very healthy recognition culture 🥳 And admins can always bump the daily taco limit for special moments like launches, team wins, or appreciation days.

Thanks for being such enthusiastic taco sharers — keep the compliments (and the spice) coming 🌮💛

 ### 26. A Simple Yet Powerful Way to Appreciate Teams

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kavya K. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2026

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

I love how HeyTaco turns everyday appreciation into something fun and meaningful. The Slack integration is super smooth, and the taco rewards motivate teams while strengthening company culture

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

So far, I haven’t encountered any major drawbacks. HeyTaco works smoothly and delivers exactly what it promises

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

HeyTaco addresses the lack of everyday appreciation at work by making it simple to recognize teammates. This boosts morale, strengthens relationships, and keeps teams engaged.

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> Kavya, thank you for your review and for being a part of HeyTaco!

 ### 27. A Fun, Effective Way to Incentivize Recognition

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christian B. | Senior Social Community Strategist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2026

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

Incentivizing people to acknowledge others

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

Needs chance to win tacos/teams with less members stand no chance at being top givers/earners

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

taco placement is a little confusing (whether they go in the front or backend)

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> Christian, thanks for the kind words and the honest feedback! 🌮 We hear you on smaller teams feeling at a disadvantage on the leaderboards — great input we'll pass along. On taco placement, good news: you can add the taco anywhere in your message, front or back!

 ### 28. Fun, Meaningful Acknowledgements That Help Coworkers Feel Appreciated

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jimmy A. | logistics ops manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2026

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

It’s fun to give acknowledgements, and it helps my coworkers feel appreciated.

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

the sticker program was nice but has to be discontinued due to errors

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

no problem but good to give the team shine

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> We love hearing that tacos are helping your team feel appreciated 🌮💛 Giving teammates a little shine never gets old.

On stickers — totally fair. Stickers are optional, and some teams choose to turn them off if they want to keep things simpler or focus purely on taco recognition. It really comes down to what fits your team’s culture best.

The good news is that admins can always revisit that setting if the team decides they’d like to bring them back in the future.

Thanks for sharing your experience and for being part of such a thoughtful, appreciative team 🌮✨

 ### 29. An Easy, Fun Way to Recognize Teammates Every Day LOVE IT

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jason T. | Head of CX, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2026

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

I like that it gives everyone an easy way to lift up their teammates, and on a platform they use every day. Who doesnt't love tacos?

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

What's not to like! It is a fun and easy way for employees to support each other.

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Makes it easy for everyone to say something good about someone else without going out of their way. It provides a standard procedure for shout-outs.

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> 'What's not to like' made our day ❤️ Thank you for the love!

 ### 30. Empowers Team Recognition—A Truly Great Platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matt L. | Senior Vice President Fluid Studios, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 07, 2026

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

Supporting my team and giving them recognition for tasks completed and hard work.

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

Nothing, I think it’s a great platform and wouldn’t change it.

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows for quick and easy recognition to team members making them feel good and recognized.

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> Matt, thank you so much for the kind words! 🌮 Hearing that HeyTaco helps your team feel recognized and appreciated is exactly why we do what we do. Keep those tacos flowing!

 ### 31. Easy to Use Across Slack Channels, Though Stickers Are Confusing

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 14, 2026

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

easy to use since the day I got here... the fact it works in many slack channels and that the message is there for everyone.

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

the stickers and stuff is not clear for me... I never researched what they are or how to use but I see them popping up in the slack channel.

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

it helps me have a clear channel to congratulate or highlight my colleagues. without that it could've sound forced.

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> Thank you for the kind words! 🌮 So glad HeyTaco has made it easy to give your colleagues a genuine shoutout. On the stickers — they're fun little extras your teammates can earn and send as bonus recognition! Check out our help docs for a quick overview, and feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

 ### 32. Fun, Cute Messages and Easy Emoji Reactions

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 17, 2026

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

the fun messages. ease of use to react with the emoji. it's cute

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

I wish we could edit the rewards info -- for example, we don't send amazon gift cards, we just have people use their company cards.

I'm not sure why but when I look at the leaderboard, I can only see the first 30 people (especially on the all-time filter).

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

teammate recognition is fast and easy and fun

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> Thanks for the kind words — and great feedback! 🌮 Good news on the rewards: you can actually customize the redemption instructions in the rewards settings (see the link below for a full how-to). As for the leaderboard limit, please reach out to us at help.heytaco.com so we can look into that with you!

 ### 33. Encouraging Recognition That Highlights Unsung Team Members

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kristen S. | Temp Dentist Recruiter, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2026

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

It is encouraging and it allows you to recognize people who may not typically be praised

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

While HeyTaco is fun and easy to use, it can sometimes feel a bit limiting. The daily taco cap, limited customization, and fairly basic reporting make it harder to scale or tailor recognition in a way that feels truly meaningful for larger or more complex teams.

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Community and connection

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> Thank you for such a thoughtful and honest review 🌮💛

We love that you called out recognizing people who might not always get praised — that’s one of the most meaningful impacts of peer recognition, and exactly the kind of community-building we care about.

We also really appreciate the feedback on limits, customization, and reporting. You’re right to call that out — and we want you to know it’s being heard. More robust analytics and reporting are on our roadmap, especially to better support larger and more complex teams that want deeper insight into how recognition is showing up across the organization.

HeyTaco is intentionally simple at its core, but we’re always working to evolve it in ways that add clarity and scale without losing the human, feel-good nature of recognition.

Thanks again for taking the time to share this. Feedback like yours directly shapes where we invest next 🌮

 ### 34. HeyTaco Makes Team Recognition Fun & Easy, but Some Rewards Feel Paywalled

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 15, 2025

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

This year, our team began using HeyTaco as a fun way to recognize each other's efforts by giving out “tacos.” These tacos can be exchanged for rewards such as free coffee, office supplies, or even a half day off. One of the most meaningful rewards, however, was the opportunity to donate to charity. The person who contributed the most tacos to this charity fund got to choose where our donation would go. In my opinion, HeyTaco is valuable not just for fostering company recognition, but also for building a sense of community.

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

I'm not a fan of the fact that some of the prizes involve LinkedIn posts, mentorship, or conversations with company leaders. It doesn't sit well with me to see opportunities like these placed behind a 'pay wall.'

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hey Taco is helping us stay engaged as a remote company and keeps us connected. It allows us to recognize each other and maintain morale with the redemption prizes.

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> Thank you for such a generous and reflective review — we love hearing how your team has used tacos to recognize each other, support charity, and build a real sense of community 🌮

We also really appreciate you sharing your perspective on certain reward types. In HeyTaco, rewards are intentionally customizable and defined by each company. Some teams choose experiential or leadership-related rewards as a way to create access and connection, while others prefer tangible items or charitable options. There’s no “right” mix — it’s about what feels aligned with your culture.

We’re especially glad to hear HeyTaco is helping your remote team stay connected and engaged. Thanks again for the thoughtful feedback and for using HeyTaco in such meaningful ways.

 ### 35. Best Gamification Service—Drives Engagement and Rewards Every Contribution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Oleg S. | Technical Architect, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2025

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

This is the best gamification service, helping our community engage in new and exciting ways. We truly appreciate all our active members, whether they are asking questions or providing answers. Every contribution counts, and in our community, tacos are the perfect currency to express that appreciation.

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

When someone responds to a question and includes other people in their message, the taco is given not to the person who actually answered, but to those who were mentioned or tagged in that message.

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a community, we want to recognize and reward people for their active support, and Taco is the best way we've found to do this.

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> Thank you for such a generous review — we love how you’re using HeyTaco to recognize and reward contributions across your community 🌮

You’re absolutely right to call out that behavior. Tacos are given to the people explicitly mentioned in a message, which is intentional — it gives the sender full control over who’s being recognized. In situations like Q&A threads, a helpful tip is to mention only the person who provided the answer when giving tacos, so the recognition lands exactly where you intend.

We’re really glad HeyTaco is supporting engagement and appreciation in your community, and we appreciate you sharing such thoughtful, real-world feedback.

 ### 36. Great Daily Encouragements, very little to dislike.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Networking | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 14, 2025

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

I love the daily encouragement offerings. It is wonderful that they aren't just fluff too, you can actually turn them into $$!

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

Sometimes it is confusing. But that is just when I am trying to like thing's using tacos.

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I sense that people really look forward to being acknowledged for what they are doing. It takes 20 seconds to write a sweet note to a colleague and it means a lot. I think that camaraderie in the work place is hard to achieve, and this gets us steps closer.

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> 20 seconds, one taco - it takes so little to make someone's day. Thank you for being a part of the Taco Economy! 🌮

 ### 37. Effortless to Use and Instantly Understandable for New Starters

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hannah S. | P&C Business Partner, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 26, 2025

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

It is so incredibly easy to use, easy to recognise and understand. All our new starters understand the usage straight away! It builds a great culture!

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

In my opinion, one of the main drawbacks is that individuals who contribute in less visible ways may not receive as much recognition through hey taco. For example, if you work in HR, much of your work is confidential, which means you can't be publicly acknowledged for it. As a result, it can sometimes feel like your efforts go unnoticed.

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This platform has played a key role in fostering a culture of recognition within our organization. One of the most valuable aspects is that even top executives participate, which has contributed to creating a truly supportive and open environment for everyone.

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> Thank you for such a thoughtful review — we love hearing how easy HeyTaco is to pick up and how quickly new starters feel included 🌮

You raise an important and very real point about less visible work, especially in roles like HR where much of the impact happens behind the scenes. Recognition doesn’t always naturally surface in public spaces, which is why leadership participation — like you mentioned — matters so much. When leaders and teammates are intentional about noticing and calling out invisible contributions, it helps ensure appreciation reaches everyone.

We’re really glad HeyTaco is helping foster a supportive, open culture at your organization, and we appreciate you sharing such a nuanced perspective.

 ### 38. Fun, Engaging Way to Get Everyone Adding Tacos

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Madeline P. | BDR Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2026

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

I love how it creates a fun element and everyone gets in on adding tacos!

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

I wish it was easier to give group tacos and maybe even different themed tacos?

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Company comorodery! I love that through tacos I learn about the amazing things happening on other teams within the company!

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> When everyone jumps in, recognition turns into a shared ritual — not a solo act.

On group tacos: today, the easiest way to recognize a group is to tag multiple teammates in one message (or use stickers for a big celebratory moment). It keeps recognition public, personal, and still rooted in peer-to-peer appreciation — even when the whole crew deserves some love.

And themed tacos… we hear you 👀
That’s why stickers exist in the first place — they’re our way of adding personality, humor, and “this moment deserves something special” flair without turning recognition into a menu overload. Breakfast tacos, spicy tacos, celebratory vibes — the fun is intentional.

We’re especially glad to hear it’s helping build camaraderie and shine a light on great work happening across teams. That cross-team visibility is one of HeyTaco’s quiet superpowers.

Thanks for spreading the taco joy — keep the appreciation coming 🌮💛

 ### 39. Easy to Use, Seamless Slack Integration That Makes Team Recognition Fun

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Government Administration | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 04, 2026

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

I love how easy HeyTaco is to use and how seamlessly it integrates with Slack. It’s a great way to recognize teammates, and it adds a little extra fun to my workday.

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

I’ve noticed that some team members have a hard time redeeming their tacos in our company store. Sometimes the redemption doesn’t go through correctly, and the tacos are lost, which then requires troubleshooting to sort it out. This causes frustration among employees.

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I’m new to the company, so I don’t have a clear answer to this yet.

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> Thanks so much for the kind words — we’re glad HeyTaco brings a little extra fun to your workday and makes recognition easy in Slack 🌮

We’re sorry to hear about the frustration around redemptions — that’s definitely not the experience we want for your team. The good news is that admins can always cancel a redemption, which automatically returns the tacos to the employee. And if anything ever looks off or needs help sorting out, our team is happy to jump in — just reach out to support@heytaco.com
and we’ll take care of it.

Thanks again for the feedback — it helps us keep improving the experience for everyone.

 ### 40. Comfortable Public Recognition That Strengthens Teamwork

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anita G. | COO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2026

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

Promotes a culture of recognition and team work, builds relationships and sets examples. It's public recognition in a comfortable setting.

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

Would be nice to see what the point system is behind the stickers.

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Recognition a cross regions, offices, and remote employees. Team cohesiveness while promoting company values.

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> We love hearing this. Public recognition that feels safe, natural, and relationship-building is the heart of HeyTaco 🌮✨

On stickers: totally fair question. Sticker unlocking is intentionally earned rather than instant. It’s influenced by a mix of quantity (giving recognition regularly), diversification (recognizing different teammates, not just the same few), and consistency (showing up over time).

The unlock energy bar is meant to give a hint at that progress — a little nudge that you’re on the right track — without turning recognition into a points-chasing game. The goal is to reward healthy recognition habits while keeping things fun and human.

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience — and for helping set the tone for recognition on your team 🌮✨

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

I don't have anything I dislike for now,

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is a great motivation between teams, they dont have to be from the same area to recognize something good from each other

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> Thank you for sharing this! We’re glad HeyTaco makes recognition easy and motivating — especially across large, distributed teams 🌮

 ### 44. Great for Encouraging Positive Communication and Appreciation

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sam M. | QA Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 03, 2026

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

It is great for encouraging positive communication and compliments so that people feel appreciated.

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

I am not typically one to need or want compliments that feel forced or just to use up their tacos.

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Simply to make sure that everyone is recognized for their work in a fun way.

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> Thank you for sharing this — it’s a really thoughtful perspective 🌮💛

We love that you called out positive communication and appreciation. That’s the heart of HeyTaco.

And we completely agree with you on this: recognition should never feel forced. Tacos aren’t meant to be used up just because they’re there. The daily limit exists to encourage small, frequent appreciation — but it’s always optional. Some days you might give five. Some days you might give none. That’s okay.

The magic happens when tacos are tied to something specific and genuine — a thoughtful assist, a quiet save, a behind-the-scenes effort. When it’s real, it lands. When it feels obligatory, it loses impact — and we definitely don’t want that.

We’re glad HeyTaco is helping make recognition visible and fun on your team, and we appreciate you highlighting the importance of keeping it authentic. That’s what keeps the taco economy healthy 🌮✨

 ### 45. Everyone loves hey taco!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amy B. | Customer support/ coach, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2026

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

HeyTaco is fun for the workplace. I enjoy celebrating my coworkers' successes. It brings us closer as a team. It's quick and easy to use. I try to use it daily. I like being able to give out the stickers to multiple people at once. Easy to use in a work conversation.

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

What I dislike least is only having 5 daily tacos to give out.

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hey Taco is rewarding for everyone that uses it. It brings the team together and offers incentives other than just the paycheck received from work.

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> Thank you for such a thoughtful review — we love hearing that HeyTaco feels fun, easy to use, and something you reach for daily 🌮

It’s great to hear that celebrating coworkers’ successes is bringing your team closer. That everyday, in-the-flow recognition is exactly what helps culture feel alive instead of occasional.

We hear you on the 5 daily tacos 😄 The limit is intentional — a little scarcity helps keep recognition thoughtful and meaningful rather than automatic. That said, your admins can always adjust the daily taco amount if your team wants a bit more flexibility.

Thanks again for sharing — we’re so glad HeyTaco is helping create incentives and connection beyond just the paycheck.

 ### 47. A Fun, Meaningful Way to Recognize Colleagues with Tacos

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rosalie C. | Customer Success Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 03, 2026

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

It's super fun to send tacos to colleague, and to receive them. And it makes you pause and think about who deserves some praise, and tell them, which I likely wouldn't have done otherwise.

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

Not much, maybe I wish I could also send tacos to my customers (I'm a CSM), in addition to peers?

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a remote-only company, its one of the ways that help enforce our team spirit. And it's benfiting me personally because it's boosting my own morale when getting tacos

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> Sending tacos your customers is a fun idea - we are taking it to the drawing board! Thank you for the love 🌮

 ### 48. Easy Colleague Recognition with Meaningful Rewards

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ivana K. | Enterprise Project Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 03, 2026

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

Connecting with my colleagues and giving them the recognition they deserve, including little rewards!

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

Having only 5 tacos to give daily! But no significant issues really

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Giving little gifts to each other, and also helps to notice which employees are most active in the community

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> Thanks for sharing this — we’re so glad HeyTaco helps you connect with colleagues and recognize them with both appreciation and little rewards 🌮

Totally hear you on the daily taco limit. The limit is intentional and rooted in a bit of healthy scarcity — when tacos are limited, recognition tends to stay more thoughtful and meaningful, rather than automatic. It helps ensure that shoutouts reflect moments that really stand out.

We also love that you’re seeing how recognition highlights active, engaged community members — that visibility is a powerful side effect of peer appreciation.

Thanks again for the thoughtful feedback!

 ### 49. Amazing Service

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 01, 2026

**What do you like best about HeyTaco?**

It positively reinforces thanking other people for their work, and has drastically improved group work in our company. It's cheap to implement, and it's very easy to use in Slack. Customer support is helpful, and it has a range of features that include stickers, redeeming tacos, and more.

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

HeyTaco doesn't have a lot of room for part-time employees to earn the proportionate amount of tacos for their time spent.

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our employees feel recognized, and the rewards they reap build loyalty to the company.

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**

> Thank you for such a thoughtful and detailed review 🌮💛 We love hearing how HeyTaco has improved collaboration and made recognition easier (and more fun) in Slack.

On part-time employees: that’s a great callout. How tacos are earned and redeemed is very much company-specific. Many teams choose to support part-time employees by:

Adjusting reward values or redemption options so tacos feel proportionate to time worked

Offering non-monetary or team-based rewards that everyone can participate in equally

Using tacos primarily as recognition and visibility, not as a strict compensation proxy

Because tacos are about appreciation first, teams have flexibility in how they translate recognition into rewards in a way that feels fair for full-time, part-time, and contract employees alike.

We really appreciate you sharing this perspective. Thoughtful considerations like this are what help teams build inclusive recognition programs that actually work 🌮✨

**What do you dislike about HeyTaco?**

There are none that I can think of for now

**What problems is HeyTaco solving and how is that benefiting you?**

On my Org it's used to reward team mates

**Official Response from Una Japundza:**
