HCC Buddy is an AI-powered ICD-10-CM encoder and HCC coding platform built for risk adjustment coders and Medicare Advantage professionals. It combines a complete ICD-10-CM code search engine, HCC risk adjustment mapping across all active CMS models (V24, V28, ESRD, RxHCC), an AI coding assistant, NPI provider lookup, drug-to-diagnosis reference, and Smart Notes — all in a single tab or Chrome extension sidebar. Every code lookup returns the full diagnostic detail alongside its HCC category, RAF weight, coding tips, clinical significance, documentation requirements, and MEAT criteria guidance. The Chrome extension opens as a sidebar inside any EHR or web-based medical record, so coders never have to leave their workflow. Nothing so far. It seems very intuitive to use.

It is helping with the ease of looking up codes and is very descriptive in providing additional important information, not just for HCC.

You can upload guidelines, ask questions, use the encoder, and it provides a list of most medications.

**What do you dislike about HCC Buddy?**

Sometimes it takes a few tries to upload guidelines.

**What problems is HCC Buddy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It makes referencing faster, which helps me produce work more quickly overall. I can ask questions and get an answer right when I need it, without having to stop and search around.
