## Harness Platform Reviews
  ### 1. Active user

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 05, 2024

**What do you like best about Harness Platform?**

Simplicity and integrability. Gitops, observably and reporting.

**What do you dislike about Harness Platform?**

The main downside is a high cost. Especially for small deployments.

**What problems is Harness Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We don't need to write custom groovy code anymore. Also enables hoops and seamlessly integrates with other systems.

  ### 2. takes the pain out of maintaining infrastructure for CD and let's us focus on our application

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lex C. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Harness Platform?**

We started using Harness after our initial deployment where we set up our own continuous delivery process with various open source projects. Our experience was that we ended up spending quite a bit of time troubleshooting and maintaining the infrastructure for continuous delivery instead of being able to focus our own application delivery process. Harness CD also provided a single pane glass for the CI/CD process which helps us standardize and simplify our deployment process and makes it much easier to onboard new team members. Harness support team is a pleasure to work with, and are knowledgeable and is a huge factor in the smooth operations of our continued CI/CD processes.

**What do you dislike about Harness Platform?**

not much. a few nitty gritty UI issues but nothing major.

**What problems is Harness Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We had initially deployed various opensource solutions for our continuous delivery process, but as time went on, we discovered that we spent more and more time trying to keep the CD infrastructure up to date and troubleshooting the CD pipeline instead of focusing on the application. The piecemeal approach to CD pipeline also make it difficult to standardize on tools, and bring new devops team members up to speed. The single pane of glass approach, makes it easier to organize knowledge needed for the CD process and simplify the process. the multitude of harness integrations also simplify the migration process as we can slowly replace each of the legacy CD pipeline.

  ### 3. Feature toggling made easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 08, 2023

**What do you like best about Harness Platform?**

With split.io is super easy to use feature toggle in my code. Hence we don't need to use feature branchs and our code goes straight to production, once the feature is complete a simple click in the administration panel puts it to work.
Another valuable feature is the ability to partialy use the feature making transitions smooth and giving time to the engineering team to fix any bugs before full release.

**What do you dislike about Harness Platform?**

Using split.io we require an additional request to verify if the feature is enabled wich sometimes could fail and increse the overall duration of the execution.
A better interface to switch between environment would improve the UX a lot

**What problems is Harness Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solves the problem of using feature branchs when a major feature is been develop and a single task is not enough to develop it completely. Not having code waiting to be put in production speed up the process and the delivery proccess is more streamlined

  ### 4. Release at light speed with CONTROL

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 10, 2024

**What do you like best about Harness Platform?**

Feature flag feature with split is top notch.

**What do you dislike about Harness Platform?**

Price tag is a bit steep compared to other tools

**What problems is Harness Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to quickly enable feature in production and ship prod code

  ### 5. Very functional views of what happening

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tarik G. | Staff Security Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Harness Platform?**

We selected Traceable for it's testing capabilities, but it also gives me so many ways to slice and dice and understand how our APIs are being used and abused.

The support is really impressive. Every time I have a question, they either have the answer or can figure it out pretty quickly and they are very willing to walk me through their complex UI to demonstrate how I can figure out more answers.

**What do you dislike about Harness Platform?**

The UI is confusing and still clearly from a startup. I would like the ability to save queries (in traces), save views and filters, and have it remember how I laid out the screen.

**What problems is Harness Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it to test our APIs for vulnerabilities and are also starting to use it to understand how we are being attacked and how our APIs are designed to help prevent or assist attackers (so that we can change them).

  ### 6. Visionary Oriented Organization

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 17, 2024

**What do you like best about Harness Platform?**

They are solving realistic problems for a real world problems faced by any organization.

**What do you dislike about Harness Platform?**

Not that I know of today. May be in future.

**What problems is Harness Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Transforming delivery

  ### 7. Harness CD - a true GitOps experience

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Swetha P. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 11, 2023

**What do you like best about Harness Platform?**

Having worked with many Continuous Delivery tools over the years, I can confidently say that Harness CD stands out in its category. With Next Gen, we can acheive a true GitOps experience by having all configuration files in Git and have a clear visibility of the changes made. The ease with which you can deploy an application is also something to take into consideration. Last but not the least, the support we are getting during our migration to next gen is great.

**What do you dislike about Harness Platform?**

Not much actually as we are using the SaaS version. Next Gen UI takes time to get used to especially if you are used to the older version.

**What problems is Harness Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Developer self-service, RBAC in next-gen, ability to deploy multiple AWS service types, ease of approval process when promoting your app to various envs.

  ### 8. Happy

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Airlines/Aviation | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 10, 2024

**What do you like best about Harness Platform?**

Cicd ccm platforms are the most I am familiar with and working towards optimizing more.

**What do you dislike about Harness Platform?**

Lot of feature requests pending takes time to implement

**What problems is Harness Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Deploy times, cost optimization

  ### 9. Intuitive to use and fast to implement

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andris S. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 11, 2023

**What do you like best about Harness Platform?**

There are SDKs for most popular languages and a great collection of guides to help implementing it.

It's all overshadowed, though, by the excellent Split Arcade. It's definitely the best way to learn extensively about using a product in a self-serve manner.

**What do you dislike about Harness Platform?**

The integrations, while plenty, seem very opinionated and, sometimes, limited. For example, we wanted to use the Amplitude integration, but it ended up not working at all for our needs and we had to integrate Amplitude with Split on our end, instead.

**What problems is Harness Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We wanted to enable a certain feature for a subset of our customers to do phased rollouts, which was not possible with the way our tech was set up at the time. Split has also allowed us to deliver in increments and enable the code at a specific time, so we don't have to time our releases to specific time windows that suit product.

  ### 10. harness surveyA>

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 17, 2024

A I abilities and management engine seemless operation

**What do you dislike about Harness Platform?**

Information Security and ease of usage outside the cloud

**What problems is Harness Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Not having to do things by hand

  ### 11. Harness CCM is a must for Cloud Cost Optimization

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Will A. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 04, 2023

**What do you like best about Harness Platform?**

We have been using Harness CCM for 15 months, and we’re extremely happy with how easy it was to set up and how quickly we started seeing cost savings.
We also really like the cost transparency we get with Harness Cost Perspectives, because it makes it very easy to show our engineering teams exactly what their costs are in real time, which makes it easier for the teams to take ownership of their costs. It also made it much easier to catch and stop cost anomalies since they are reported to the responsible engineers in real time.
As soon as we set up the Granular Cloud Management feature, we immediately saw an 92% reduction in our development infrastructure costs.
Overall, it’s been a great experience working with Harness and their customer support team. They onboarded us quickly and easily and made sure we were successful in implementing our cloud cost management.

**What do you dislike about Harness Platform?**

Not a whole lot. When we have had challenges with Harness CCM, support is quick to address them.

**What problems is Harness Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cutting costs in Cloud. Being able to identify and drill down areas of increased cost.

  ### 16. Good experience

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Miguel B. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 01, 2024

**What do you like best about Harness Platform?**

- Reliability of the system
- Ease of use of the dashboard

**What do you dislike about Harness Platform?**

- Unable to generate API with permissions to manage a group of feature flags
- Frequent UI changes

**What problems is Harness Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

controlled rollout of new features or application versions

  ### 17. Feature flagging just became awesome

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rimon H. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 13, 2023

**What do you like best about Harness Platform?**

Easy to use and maintain, Split io became our go-to service for managing new feature releases. Always-up and reliable service on-top of account based configuration allows us to deploy and test features in real-time, which empowers us with a controlled release process.

**What do you dislike about Harness Platform?**

While it is quick & easy to add feature flags it is not always clear how to deactivate them and when.
A guided tour for new users can help solve this issue, and explain the exact life cycle for a feature flag.
Also, getting a notification regarding fully released or no longer used flag can be good for cleaning up the board.

**What problems is Harness Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Split allows us to test new features from multiple teams at the early stages of development, helps us with continuous deployment, without any code changes per used environment, which couldn't be done that easily without this service.
Being able to control which accounts will have access to the features, all in real-time just makes the difference.
We can react to technical issues and also contract changes with ease.

  ### 18. Traceable

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Scott B. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2023

**What do you like best about Harness Platform?**

Traceable provides an incredibly comprehensive review of our API traffic. I'm especially impressed with the number of integrations with other tooling to help bring a full view of my environment. Support and account teams are very responsive, and always willing to setup last minute calls to worth through issues together. It speaks volumes to their dedication to differentiating the product in a sea of security tools.

**What do you dislike about Harness Platform?**

The breadth of configuration options and features is impressive, but many are still limited or not feature complete. Find a way to keep going wide, but add depth in certain key areas.

**What problems is Harness Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We don't have a centralized security control for handling API traffic across our applications, and across the CSP's where they are deployed. Traceable provides that nerve center where we can agnostically detect, prevent, and analyze API based threats.

  ### 19. Perfect tool for every type of feature flags

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 11, 2023

**What do you like best about Harness Platform?**

Split is easy to use and pretty intuitive. Defining feature flags and accessing their values programmatically is straightforward.

**What do you dislike about Harness Platform?**

In 2 years, I haven't found yet something I don't like in Split

**What problems is Harness Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Split makes easy the use of feature flags

  ### 20. Software engineer

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** jie z. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Harness Platform?**

efficacy, easy to use, no delay, quick customer support, a lot of useful features, very easy in integration to our code.

**What do you dislike about Harness Platform?**

no easy way to change the order of rules

**What problems is Harness Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A/B testing is our initial purpose and it is solved by Split very well. Easily get it done w/ the Split.

  ### 22. Efficient API Inventory triage tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** sharan n. | Security Researcher, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Harness Platform?**

We have found Traceable AI to be an exceptional solution for our API inventory management needs. Our decision to adopt this product has been greatly validated by its performance and compatibility with our environment. We have seamlessly tailored its features to align with our requirements and have even implemented it within our on-premise infrastructure. The comprehensive insights it offers into our inventory have significantly facilitated our triage processes and overall inventory management.

One noteworthy aspect of Traceable AI is its remarkable customer support. In particular, I would like to commend Vijay Shankar from the Traceable team for his dedicated assistance. He has been our single point of contact and has consistently provided excellent support. The team's proactive approach, including regular follow-ups and prompt responsiveness, has truly set a high standard for customer service. They have been exceptionally accessible and have ensured timely updates in response to any requests, changes, or feature enhancements.

**What do you dislike about Harness Platform?**

As for areas of improvement, I have encountered minor issues primarily related to the user interface (UI). Occasionally, certain elements such as page numbers and filters have displayed inaccuracies or inconsistencies. However, it is worth mentioning that the Traceable team is receptive to user feedback and diligently incorporates updates to enhance the platform's functionality.

**What problems is Harness Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am truly impressed by the impact of Traceable AI on our API inventory management. The platform's ability to provide a holistic view of our APIs, coupled with its rapid issue identification, customizable features, and on-premise security deployment, has significantly elevated our API management capabilities. Additionally, the team's commitment to refining the platform based on user feedback ensures a responsive and user-centric experience. Traceable AI has undeniably streamlined our operations and empowered us to make more informed decisions regarding our API ecosystem.

  ### 23. Exceptionally intuitive

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 14, 2024

**What do you like best about Harness Platform?**

How easy it is to use. It is part of our regular workflow to progressively release new features behind feature flags. Split makes it a breeze to do so.

**What do you dislike about Harness Platform?**

I wish there was a way to find all feature flags that are targeting a specific company.

**What problems is Harness Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps us prevent the introduction of breaking changes by progressively releasing complex features.

  ### 24. Versatile API Security tool and partnership

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Harness Platform?**

This tool meets and exceeds all expectations within all the API Security areas including shift left. The tool deploys easily and quickly and was able to detect all the tests other vendors missed during PoCs. Support has been working well with our model which has become a good partnership. Their shift left component is an excellent way to verify vulnerabilities don't end up in production and goes beyond what a typical DAST can't test. We look forward to future implementation with their Language Agents so that we can take full advantage of the NextGen WAF capabilities.

**What do you dislike about Harness Platform?**

For complex environments, a new deployment will take extra coordination with support since their documentation doesn't cover all use cases (how can they?). Integrations with other tools are possible, but require assistance from their support while they continue to build the portfolio.

**What problems is Harness Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This tool helps us detect and block malicious actors attacking our internally developed and sometimes forgotten APIs. We also scan through our SDLC pipeline to reduce vulnerabilities making their way to production.

  ### 25. Harness Continuous Delivery - a Great Product

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bill W. | Digital Product Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 13, 2023

**What do you like best about Harness Platform?**

When we first started looking for a new Continuous Delivery product, we decided on Harness for three main reasons - first, it could accelerate our move to the cloud while still supporting our brownfield on-prem applications. Second, it was very secure, since all communication orginates at the delegate. Third, it allwoed us to move configuration out of the product UI and into our GitHub repo. It succeeds wonderfully on all counts.

We also got a very effective and helpful team to support our efforts from the vendor. They seem legitimately concerned about our success with the product and have helped us at alls tages of the implementation. It has been a breath of fresh air compared to other vendors we have worked with.

The product is great, the support team is great. I would give Harness a hearty recommendation for anyone consideering buying it.

**What do you dislike about Harness Platform?**

Honestly there is not mcuh to dislike, here. The product is solid and well thought out. I guess if I had one complaint it is that in some cases features show up in the manager without us having much prep time, so more awareness of their roadmap would help, but in the cases where it has caused issues they have moved quickly to help resolve it, and some of that can be attributed to the fact that we bought SaaS instead of going with a slef-hosted solution for the Manager.

**What problems is Harness Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Deployments to mmulticloud infrastructure.
Developer self-service driving a huge reduction in support requests.
Faster deployment times with less overhead for developers and support staff.
Well-constructed RBAC model

  ### 26. An excelent monitoring platform for your APIs

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 11, 2023

**What do you like best about Harness Platform?**

Traceable has provided an excellent insight into how our data flows on a day-to-day basis. The platform provides a very detailed overview of how data is able to flow in our environment.

The process of installing the Traceable agent on our servers was very straightforward when introducing a new environment.

Our team has provided high-quality support throughout the onboarding process. They have been able to promptly address every concern or issue that we have encountered, whether it be a simple regex solution or working with their backend team on correcting an issue in the agent. The support has been top notch.

**What do you dislike about Harness Platform?**

The update process for our systems has required our Sysadmin to uninstall and reinstall when updates need to be applied. The update process could be more streamlined.

Enhancing the reporting capabilities, especially for historical data beyond a month would provide to be useful.

**What problems is Harness Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Traceable has given our team a much better understanding of where and how our API traffic is flowing. This have given us a much more comprehensive overview of our data, and is allowing us to better plan future projects.

  ### 27. Fastest and easiest yo use feature flag platform.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 06, 2022

**What do you like best about Harness Platform?**

I like how easy is to setup a feature flag in the user interface, customize the targeting, and thanks to the amount of SDKs you can implement it easily in any of your apps. We use for PHP, Kotlin and React, and the changes are available immediately for all enviorments.

**What do you dislike about Harness Platform?**

I think the fact that there's no browser devtools is the only I don't like, sometimes that would make things easier during development. Apart from
that I think everything that split is supposed to do is done very well.

**What problems is Harness Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Releasing features gradually to different customers and releasing changes to production without causing disruption to our customers. Split has help us get confidence with our deployments to prod because it allows us to deploy everything as soon as possible but releasing at our own pace.

**Official Response from Alyssa Rogers:**

> Hi there, thanks for leaving Split a review! I'm pleased to hear incremental rollout has been beneficial to both you & your customer's experience. Additionally, how Split has helped your team release with confidence and control. I'll definitely pass your feedback along to our team, thanks again for your time!

  ### 28. Harness CCM has been a game-changer for reducing our spend in AWS

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 09, 2023

**What do you like best about Harness Platform?**

With Harness CCM, we've been able to see an average of 80% cost savings on the infrastructure in AWS we have configured with auto-stopping. Prior to adopting CCM, this infrastructure was on 24/7 - extremely inefficient. Now, these instances are available on-demand and some instances stay dormant for days or weeks at a time.

The Harness CCM Dashboard is user-friendly and provides data directly from AWS that helps us to understand how much we are saving.

**What do you dislike about Harness Platform?**

We are currently working with the Harness team to research how we can double down and surface even more actionable data within the CCM module.

We'd like to be able to see which specific traffic may be keeping instances awake that are configure with auto-stopping, and to pull status indicators from the CCM Dashboard into our internal tooling so other verticals within our organization can see the status of our infrastructure in realtime.

**What problems is Harness Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Harness CCM has been pivotal in bringing down our spend in AWS by making instances available on-demand with auto-stopping. End users can easily access their environments the same way they always do while infrastructure comes online quickly and quietly in the background.

  ### 29. Developer Experience, Done Right

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steve G. | Founder & CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 02, 2023

**What do you like best about Harness Platform?**

An integrated suite of tools that answer CI, CD, Flags, Chaos, Security testing and other developer workflow concerns in one package.

As a business, we value our time, and Harness gives our engineers one pane of glass into these features, and provides me as the owner of the business insight into productivity, problems, delivery lead times and other considerations.

**What do you dislike about Harness Platform?**

It's not much of a dislike - but as Harness grows, it takes a bit of time for some of the new features added to mature up to the same level as the original features, such as CI/CD - which is the backbone product. That said, even initial versions of features generally integrate with the wider pipeline.

**What problems is Harness Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Harness runs all of our CI/CD pipelines for the business, doing all our builds and releases for us. We also leverage some of the other features like feature flags, security testing orchestration to control and manage our platform.

  ### 30. Great product, simple to use and works great.Providing a great value.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shai M. | SVP R&D, General Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 13, 2023

**What do you like best about Harness Platform?**

We have been using Split for over three years now, they are a great team and outstanding product, super easy to use and add to our code.
We use the basic package, and it provides great value for us. We use mainly the feature toggle to enable quick releases with confidence.

**What do you dislike about Harness Platform?**

In the early days, we had CORS issues from our frontend SPA. We had back-and-forth discussions with their support team and eventually fixed it.
We did have a few issues where customers had toggles misbehave, we think it is related to a network/security issue that blocked Split server, but the last time it happened was about two years ago.

**What problems is Harness Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Release to production with confidence, controlling features and components in our platform.

  ### 31. It does its job

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 29, 2023

**What do you like best about Harness Platform?**

It's simple and straightforward. I need to create some feature flags, and Split allows me to do it. The interface is intuitive, it's easy to do some basic setup, and I am able to create a new feature flag literally in 1 minute.

**What do you dislike about Harness Platform?**

I can't really say that I dislike something, but I still didn't find a way to manage metrics in the way that I would like to... I guess I need to dig deeper to find some tutorials, but to be honest, I didn't really have time to do it. As I said, it's now a downside, it's not something that I don't like, it's just the thing that I miss right now and that I don't know how to do.

**What problems is Harness Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When our team is thinking about introducing a new feature, we often like to perform an A/B test, just to see if the users will like it or not. That's where Split comes in handy.

  ### 32. Simplest feature flagging tool I've used so far

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 13, 2023

**What do you like best about Harness Platform?**

There a lot to like about Split, but here are the highlights:

- Its simple, intuitive user interface which allows for quick changes and experimentation.
- Its developer API and documentation which is quite clear and thorough.

**What do you dislike about Harness Platform?**

This might be because of how our account is set up, but the "My Work" tab doesn't actually show my work. It shows every FF in the organization and not just the ones I've created or contributed to.

This makes it a bit cumbersome to always remember which one of my flags I want to work on.

**What problems is Harness Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows us to safely deploy work in progress and changes to the codebase without affecting users. This enables fast experimentation and continuous delivery by separating the deployment process from the release process.

  ### 33. Streamlined Feature Management: Split.io Keeps Me in the Driver's Seat

It helps me run A/b testing easily by allowing me to create treatment groups easily. I can also set up targeting rules and easily setup split configuration.

  ### 35. Great Product for API Security Journey

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 08, 2023

**What do you like best about Harness Platform?**

The support has been awesome! Fastest turn around time for any support related questions and training I've been a part of. The UI is also very easy to use and understand quickly. It's amazing what Taceable can discover about your API applications such as what types of sensitive data are being passed in API calls.

**What do you dislike about Harness Platform?**

The only issues I've seen so far have been related to agent performace on Tanzu Applicaiton service. This is a new feature so I'm positive it will be remediated quickly from my experiece with support.

**What problems is Harness Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Traceable is helping us discover what API applciatios we have an where they are running. It's also enable us to see how secure they are and what changes can be made to make them more secure. Traceable is also helping us see where our sensitive data is going.

  ### 36. Excellent way to control the release of features in different enviornment.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 04, 2024

**What do you like best about Harness Platform?**

The way a particular split is handled at different enviornments.
Also the ease to enable/disable a feature at any levels.

**What do you dislike about Harness Platform?**

Code change is required if the split is 100% released and we decide to kill or delete the split flag.

**What problems is Harness Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Limited availability of feature for customer helps us in getting valuable feedback.

  ### 37. Harness CI - Next gen of AWS in CI

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kalaiarasan V. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2023

**What do you like best about Harness Platform?**

Harness CI provides consistent results across in CI and architecture is pluggable / scalable with any features based on customers need.

Other competitors are also good, but harness architecture would beat them going forward with enriched fucntionalities.

**What do you dislike about Harness Platform?**

Lack of support on many open source plugins which are available over other CI tool. Would like to get this addressed in coming days.

**What problems is Harness Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- No centralized build server manitainence for CI.
- Removing Redundant work across teams and Security issues are addressed.
- Yes, it provides oppourunity to focus on business logic than handling Infra.
- It provides more time to engineers to spend time of bringing new things to CI process for product success.

  ### 38. Great Partner for Delivering Our CD Platform

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2023

**What do you like best about Harness Platform?**

What I like about Harness CD is the customizability of the platform. We are able to utilize multiple resource types and deployment methods based on the needs of the product. I also like that we have been treated as partners in our relationship. They've been able to work through bugs and advancements with us.

**What do you dislike about Harness Platform?**

The thing I dislike the most about Harness CD is that after we started with them on the previous platform, we now have to migrate to the newer platform. Since what I liked the most was the customization aspect, that has also delayed us in the migration since the older platform is not a like-for-like transition to the newer platform. Even through these challenges, Harness has been partnering with us to either include the customizations we have done into the newer platform or help us find a way to achieve the same results.

**What problems is Harness Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problem Harness CD is solving is a delivery pipeline. Prior to Harness our deployments where push button single environment deployments. No we are able to utilize a pipeline to not only deploy, but run test suites, perform rollbacks, notifications, security checks, etc.

  ### 39. Split review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Simon O. | QA Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 04, 2023

**What do you like best about Harness Platform?**

The best features about split is it's ease of use and integration. We use it for controlling feature rollouts on many of our projects.

**What do you dislike about Harness Platform?**

One thing I would note is that once the split has changed - there's a slight delay to have the new settings take effect.

**What problems is Harness Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to control production rollouts and staging testing.

  ### 40. Rockstar product for rockstar teams

Ability to discover APIs across the boards and implement protection against OWASP API top to. Provide us custom ruleset and capabilities to bot control and rate limiting for our API.
We also use their IAST module to secure APIs and applications in QA environment

  ### 41. Affordable Empowerment: Unlocking Feature Flagging Potential with Split

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rei C. | VP of Engineering / Architect, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about Harness Platform?**

What we like best about Split is its low entry cost and high functionality, enabling startups to effortlessly adopt feature flagging as a software development practice while enjoying many features out of the box.

**What do you dislike about Harness Platform?**

While Split offers an impressive feature set and cost-effective solutions, one aspect that could be improved is the availability of comprehensive documentation and resources. Sometimes, finding specific information or troubleshooting guidance can be a bit challenging, especially for users who are new to the platform. Enhanced documentation and easily accessible resources would greatly benefit users and streamline their experience with Split

**What problems is Harness Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Split solves the problem of effectively managing feature flags in software development projects. By providing a robust feature flagging solution, Split allows teams to easily control the release and targeting of features, enabling progressive deployments, A/B testing, and gradual rollouts. This benefits me by empowering my team to iterate and experiment with features in a controlled manner, minimizing risks and ensuring a smooth user experience. Split.io's feature flagging capabilities provide flexibility, allowing us to make data-driven decisions, gather user feedback, and iterate on features without disrupting the entire application. This ultimately leads to improved product quality, faster time-to-market, and enhanced user satisfaction.

**Reviewed Date:** February 01, 2024

**What do you like best about Harness Platform?**

very useful in feature management in different environments

**What do you dislike about Harness Platform?**

the notification management that it has inbuilt

**What problems is Harness Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

very useful in feature management in different environments and also enabling and disabling for particular user

  ### 43. A fantastic platform that is almost perfect

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Utilities | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2023

**What do you like best about Harness Platform?**

Does a great job at showing the information needed to be gleamed from an API call
Threat actor/protection portion seems to be extremely useful
Fast and great support from the reps.

**What do you dislike about Harness Platform?**

Wish it had the ability to save analysis queries
Needs to be able to save what columns you want to be shown. I have to consistently hide columns in order to fully display the information I want to see.
Dark theme please
Better and more documentation needs to be done

**What problems is Harness Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Traceable allows our company to gain insight on data relating to our website/mobile app's API calls. By monitoring these calls, we can see any potential threats or security vulnerabilities that concern our web services.

  ### 44. Key Takeaways and Observations

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Harness Platform?**

At our organization, we emphasize conducting meticulous Proof of Concept (POC) assessments involving at least three vendors before making product procurement decisions. This evaluation encompasses aligning the vendor's solution with our specific use cases, technical support requirements, and the product team's vision.

Our rigorous POC process consistently positioned Traceable at the forefront, achieving top rankings across all evaluated criteria compared to other vendors. The support team's assistance has been phenomenal during the POC phase and throughout the provisioning of both production and non-production environments.
With unwavering confidence, I affirm that this tool has significantly elevated the effectiveness of our security program.

**What do you dislike about Harness Platform?**

It would have been advantageous if the TPA (Traceable Platform Agents) servers could have also been hosted within the vendor's cloud infrastructure. While I understand design constraints might limit this possibility, such an arrangement would have benefitted our organization and other mid-sized customers like us.

**What problems is Harness Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Assisting in fortifying our API security stance.

  ### 45. Fluid, Consistent and Effective Testing

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Samantha W. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 13, 2023

**What do you like best about Harness Platform?**

The most valuable part of using Split is the different testing types and customization the platform enables us to test as an organization. I'm not sure how it ranks among competitors, but our ability to customize and create events and measure precise metrics that vary from test to test allows us to align our testing with our company and product-specific OKR's.

**What do you dislike about Harness Platform?**

There is a learning curve when first learning how to use and interpret the platform. We realized we needed to utilize our Split support team better and internal team leads to help us understand the metrics we were using to measure inside of Split and how we could begin testing different aspects of our product. Once everyone was onboard about how to use and access the platform - it was clear to see the value the product brings.

**What problems is Harness Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're a data-driven organization, therefore everything that we set out to do needs to be backed with data. We use Split to slowly release new features and test the waters to avoid creating problems for larger groups at the top of our sales funnel. We leverage Spilt early and often to test new business ideas and alternative design approaches to see if it there is significant cause for taking additional time to push certain concepts through compliance or to take on more risk than necessary.

  ### 46. Split.io's is an amazing feature flagging platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Slaven S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 10, 2023

**What do you like best about Harness Platform?**

Split.io is a powerful feature flagging and experimentation platform that offers a range of benefits to businesses and developers. One of the most helpful aspects of Split.io is its ability to streamline feature delivery and enable teams to move quickly and efficiently in testing and releasing new features. The platform's feature flagging functionality allows developers to easily turn features on or off, target specific user segments for testing, and monitor performance and impact, all from a single dashboard. This helps to reduce the risk of introducing bugs or other issues into production and enables teams to iterate and improve their features more rapidly. Additionally, Split.io's experimentation capabilities allow teams to test multiple variations of a feature simultaneously and make data-driven decisions about which version performs best. This can lead to more successful feature launches and increased user engagement, ultimately driving business growth and success.

**What do you dislike about Harness Platform?**

Once you get the know the product with small learning curve things go smoothly. Pricing models are better now but were not always great for smaller startups

**What problems is Harness Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Currently we are using it for feature flagging

  ### 47. Simple to start, powerful tool to manage releases

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Albert T. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 07, 2023

**What do you like best about Harness Platform?**

Split feature flagging allows my team to control what gets released to production when working on a new feature. The start is simple with just the on/off rules, but add the user targetting and other configurations for the treatments and suddenly we had a lot more control over who/where our releases goes to. That's barely scratching the surface of what Split can do, as there are a number of other configurations we haven't even tried yet.

**What do you dislike about Harness Platform?**

Some of the JIRA integrations for indicating when a flag is on/off in different environments seems limited, and the link to JIRA only supports one environment at time of writing this. Some of the interfaces on the split dashboard can be unintuitive as to what they do or how to set them up (targeting rules, labels).

**What problems is Harness Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Split helps me solve feature release management due to how our release cycles work. Or sometimes we want the ability to be able to rollback a feature (turning it off) without needing to do a full re-deployment. Split helps us do that, on top of other capabilities like A/B testing and targeting rules.

  ### 48. Harness has helped accelerate our delivery by providing a reliable platform to deploy code from

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 06, 2023

**What do you like best about Harness Platform?**

Started using Harness as it looked great for Continuous Deployment where competitors had it as an afterthought. Now that it also includes Continuous Integration, it's a great tool for building and deploying code all in one place. Coupled with it's notifications to developers on failure and the ability to also run tests and monitor deployments, it has everything we need.

**What do you dislike about Harness Platform?**

Pricing models have been slightly confusing however the team has always worked very closely on improving this area.

Being an early adopter, some features have occasionally broken however responses to support tickets is always very quick and escalation has been smooth where required.

**What problems is Harness Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having built out a CD pipeline in a previous company using Jenkins, I know how hard it is to orchestrate various services deploying to various areas of your infrastructure. Harness comes with a lot of the complexity already built out behind the scenes. Example is you can simply define a Dockerfile and with some simple config, Harness can build an image and push to your respository with no requirement to host your own Docker build container environment. This has saved a lot of time and resources which we can better use in other areas.

  ### 49. Modern API Security product with great support!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Satya N. | Startup Mentor , Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Harness Platform?**

Traceable offers a variety of deployment options, acknowledging the complexity of Cloud Infrastructure. Ensuring complete visibility of API endpoints is crucial, and Traceable's diverse deployment strategies are designed to maximize coverage.

The platform is equipped with a powerful blocking mechanism that can operate either at the endpoint level or at the network level, by integrating with third-party Web Application Firewalls (WAFs). This versatility allows us to tailor our inline blocking strategies effectively.

Furthermore, the support service provided by Traceable is remarkable. It ranks among the best that my teams have encountered from any vendor. The Traceable team has consistently demonstrated their responsiveness and sensitivity to the timelines and intricacies of our environments. Their strong, dedicated support team is commendable.

**What do you dislike about Harness Platform?**

There are a few technical limitations that we've encountered, although I understand that Traceable.ai is actively working on improvements in these areas.

Our use of the mirroring mechanism for certain endpoints has highlighted a few potential enhancements:

Currently, we filter data after it has been sent to the Traceable platform. This process results in us incurring costs for transmitting data that will eventually be redacted or discarded upon reaching Traceable. It would be advantageous if we could implement filtering prior to data transmission.

Mirroring traffic is a significant cost factor. If there were a method to compress the data before mirroring, it would lead to considerable savings.

We have also faced challenges due to ECS Fargate not supporting PPS Auto Scaling. This issue has necessitated substantial troubleshooting on our part. Any potential solutions to this would be greatly appreciated.

**What problems is Harness Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

API-based attack monitoring & response
API Threat Modeling -
API Security Testing - Blackbox
Vulnerability Management is a secondary use case
API UBA - API user's behavior analysis

  ### 50. Split.io is very helpful and significant tool to our development process

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vladyslav K. | Frontend Chapter Lead, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 28, 2023

**What do you like best about Harness Platform?**

- Dynamic configuration is a very powerful feature for advanced use cases that we have
- The targeting rules system is very flexible and powerful
- Flexible and powerful review and permissions management
- The changes to the feature flags are applied near-realtime without any throttling
- Security compliance is great
- The documentation is very detailed and helpful
- The support and guidance from the Split.io side are very helpful

**What do you dislike about Harness Platform?**

- With mobile devices we have difficulty with removing the obsolete feature flags because there are several application versions existing on the users' side simultaneously. Therefore we have to preserve the old flags in Split.io till the majority of users are updated to the latest versions. Would be great if Split.io was providing a more sophisticated flag removal mechanism to reduce the problem for mobile devices
- The UX of the Split.io portal can be improved in some aspects.
- It is expensive

**What problems is Harness Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Split allows multiple teams to follow trunk-based development and have safe deployments without affecting each other. This speeds up the development process and reduces issues in production. Also, it provides confidence and a feeling of safety to the team because a feature can be easily disabled on production if a problem is found.
