This allows to use or create complex plugins without a deep understanding of Drone. The plugin-like nature of Drone also allow it to support almost every language and/or system out there. **What do you dislike about Harness Platform?** Most of the time the build logs lags behind the build from some seconds to several minutes. Another problem is the lack of debug support (besides the build log) when something goes wrong. Supposedly one can restart the build and drop to a console in the container when it fails but it never has worked for us in all those years. **What problems is Harness Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use Drone at our company to build and deploy all our software directly from Git. Thanks to the plugin system, we did integrate with Docker Swarm easily by making a docker container that triggers an update on the Swarm after a successful build. ### 5. Harness has helped to empower our engineers to own more and more of the CI/CD process. The built-in secrets management solution was easy to use and helped to speed up our adoption of Harness. The git sync feature allows us to use Pull Requests for increased confidence in our CI/CD changes. The Customer Success and Support teams have been very helpful with the initial setup and continued improvement of our CI Enterprise configuration **What do you dislike about Harness Platform?** The RBAC feature in the next-gen UI is very valuable but can be a bit confusing to configure and maintain. A few features that we were using in Jenkins, do not currently exist in Harness CI (branch specific build numbers and build image without pushing are two examples) **What problems is Harness Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** We wanted to move away from having to manage our own Jenkins/Spinnaker infrastructure while at the same time improving the ease of maintaining our CI/CD processes. Very low support overhead, was up and running fast and we don't have to spend any time managing it. Configs can be managed in git repo and good API for managing other settings like secrets. Great support, knowledgeable and responsive. **What do you dislike about Harness Platform?** UI lags at times. It is a bit pricey Using per user model it'd be nice to be able to manage license count online. Doesn't have as many native integrations with other providers as some other things, like github/jira to track what is in a deployment. **What problems is Harness Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** We needed a deployment system that didn't require much support since we're a small team. It also needed to handle change management requirements since compliance is a factor for us. I'd say the main benefit was getting a system in place for handling canary type kubernetes deployments in less than a day and we haven't needed to revisit it since. ### 12. The monitoring and alerting is good as well. **What do you dislike about Harness Platform?** You have to create first some flows manually, and when everything is working, you can create your templates or guide yourself with the configuration as code yamls generated by these manual interventions. It is not that easy to start from scratch using just infrastructure as code, not so intuitive. **Recommendations to others considering Harness Platform:** Give it a try; depending on your needs; you can speed up your CI/CD processes. **What problems is Harness Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** We resolved our continuous deployments to different environments for dockerized services using an ECS cluster and terraform. That along with the options of choosing canary vs blue/green gives us plenty of options to choose for our deployment strategies. **What do you dislike about Harness Platform?** Sometimes waiting for the verification steps (that are recommended to run for at least 15 min, some having a 5 min startup) can feel a bit sluggish, but the idea of letting it run and catching errors not needing to babysit the different APM/log aggregation for each deploy is helpful. **What problems is Harness Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** We were able to move from deployments using Ansible that was run against existing infrastructure to utilizing ASGs and ECS to build new infrastructure with each deploy which allows us to stay up to date on latest security patches. This has allowed our team to no longer need to manually have to re-spin this infrastructure in production to keep up to date with latest changes. ### 25.
