HackerRank has had a tremendous impact on our hiring as it allows candidates to complete in their own time which speeds up the process as we do not have to worry about scheduling, and our hiring teams love talking to developers and being able to review code so they can use more of the interview time assessing a candidates overall ability. We receive amazing customer support and have a partner in HackerRank. **What do you dislike about HackerRank Developer Skills Platform?** A double-edged sword for this tool is I work with a lot of developers who heavily use code repositories and have been removed a bit from writing out data structures/algorithms that are essential to performing well on tests- I believe we might weed out some developers who do not perform as well on the test who probably have great backgrounds and technical skills. These are essential skills for developers so much needed, and we try to prepare candidates as best as possible on what to expect. **What problems is HackerRank Developer Skills Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** It has helped speed up our interview process by allowing us to send the challenge separately and allowing the candidate to complete on their own time, then they can discuss the results in a regularly scheduled interview. This frees up time for our hiring teams, gives candidates better flexibility since they don't need to schedule time during normal business hours, and they can set aside time to sit down and complete the HackerRank challenge when they aren't distracted. I think this is super helpful for candidates who are currently working, but our team loves getting to see some code when interviewing candidates and talking further through strengths and weaknesses. This must be increased. There are certain skillset in which only one question is present. For example .NET Advanced only one objective MCQ. This is not what we expect as a business user. For all basic, intermediate and advanced complexity variation of questions for every skillset please do make sure you do have adequate number of questions. Keep reviving and updating the questions in library. There were missing basic MCQ flavour questions in certain skillset and have only intermediate flavour and or expert flavours alone disappoints end users as we cannot bring in consistency in skillset evaluations. Overall on immediate priority the number of questions in library has to be increased. HackerRank does a great job of informing hiring teams and recruiters if a question has been leaked and notifies them to replace the question with another one. I do wish that there was a way to limit the leaking of questions since it does happen more than I'd like. **Recommendations to others considering HackerRank Developer Skills Platform:** HackerRank is a tool to solve the technical screen portion of the recruiting process and saves a lot of time for recruiters and interviewers. However, it should not be used as a tool to replace the technical interview portion of the recruiting process nor the recruiting process as it gauges a baseline of technical skills and isn't able to accurately assess behavioral skills. If you are recruiting for folks in software engineers, this is a fantastic tool to utilize to become more efficient in your process and reach more candidates. **What problems is HackerRank Developer Skills Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** HackerRank saves us time in our recruiting process, helps engineers and our hiring teams better understand the technical skills that candidates possess prior to technical interviews, and it allows candidates to get a better sense of the experience that is required to be successful in the open role.
