"Intuitive Onboarding, Smart Anti-Cheating, and Useful Interview Summaries"
4/5
What do you like best about HackerRank Developer Skills Platform?

We use it for System Design interviews and coding rounds. The UI is intuitive, and getting onboarded to the platform is straightforward. It also generates a PDF summary toward the end of the interview, which I’ve found helpful for review and follow-up. I also appreciate the built-in intelligence that can flag candidates who may be trying to cheat. Performance is on par with industry alternatives, and the integrations for code, the whiteboard, and the question library are all useful. Overall, I think it delivers a good return on investment. What do you dislike about HackerRank Developer Skills Platform?

Some industry alternatives, such as Excalidraw, feel a bit more polished and easier to use, particularly for things like whiteboarding. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Fast, Candidate-Friendly Hiring—But Custom Questions and Pricing Need Work"
3.5/5
What do you like best about HackerRank Developer Skills Platform?

HackerRank makes technical hiring quick and easy. The platform is simple for candidates to use, connects directly with our hiring tools to automate test invites, and runs smoothly without lag. Its smart anti-cheating features keep test results honest, and filtering out unfit candidates early saves our engineers hours of interview time each week. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about HackerRank Developer Skills Platform?

Creating custom questions is confusing, and finding good ones in the library takes too long. The system sometimes fails to update our hiring software automatically, so we have to check candidate scores by hand. The site can also run slowly during big hiring events, and upgrading to get basic proctoring features costs too much for smaller teams. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Essential for Efficient, Reliable Hiring"
5/5
What do you like best about HackerRank Developer Skills Platform?

I really appreciate the fraud detection feature in HackerRank Developer Skills Platform, as it helps me identify if candidates are trying to cheat during assessments. I also love that I can easily insert my own questions and create datasets, which simplifies the process of updating and customizing tests. The platform offers a good number of well-constructed test cases and questions, considering most syntax and coding conventions, which assists me in evaluating candidates' coding skills effectively. Additionally, the initial setup was really straightforward, allowing me to get onboarded and access everything quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about HackerRank Developer Skills Platform?

I think a bigger question library would be really helpful. Over time, the questions start getting a bit similar, so updating the library more frequently would be a big plus. Maybe adding some new versions on a monthly basis could keep things fresh. And if there was an AI assistant to help quickly add questions, and write test cases, that would definitely improve the platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Strong IDE and proctoring, but pricey with uneven question bank and some instability"
3.5/5
What do you like best about HackerRank Developer Skills Platform?

Dedicated IDE and can see team over the years poured effort into it making more stable, reusable to candidates to emulate fair and similar setup for candidates. I do like MySQL setup with C# environment.

Latest feature on AI supported platform elevates the game on how we see future recruitment to be as well.

Also advanced Proctor feature for easy detection for fairness. Though I must say there are still room for improvement in this area. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about HackerRank Developer Skills Platform?

A bit more expensive ;)

Out of the box questions are either too hard in form of leetcode which is barely used in real life or too easy. We almost always have to create our own tests though good that Hackerrank at least offer to upload custom questions.

Dedicated IDE are still buggy/unstable sometime for some unfortunate candidates.

Latest AI efficiency score seems unreliable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Transforms Technical Hiring with Efficiency and Precision"
5/5
What do you like best about HackerRank Developer Skills Platform?

I like the flexibility of the question library and the ability to build custom assessments tailored to specific roles we are hiring for. The live interview/CodePair experience is also a strong point as it lets me watch a candidate's thought process in real-time. The customizable question/rubric builder is important because it allows tailoring assessments to specific roles. The built-in code playback/replay feature is genuinely useful for after-the-fact review. Additionally, the reporting and scoring dashboards make it easy to compare candidates side-by-side and keep our evaluation process consistent across interviewers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about HackerRank Developer Skills Platform?

A few areas come to mind. The question library, while broad, can feel generic for more specialized roles - for embedded systems or infrastructure-focused positions. The CodePair interface, while functional, can occasionally feel a bit clunky compared to more modern collaborative coding tools. I've also found the reporting/analytics could be more customizable. "Streamlined Hiring, Engaged Engineers, and Cost-Effective"
4.5/5
What do you like best about HackerRank Developer Skills Platform?

I like that the HackerRank Developer Skills Platform is easy to navigate and easy to use. Even though I'm not an engineer, I can give it a try and feel comfortable using it. It's also great that we can add things to it and that the team is very good at listening to our feedback and implementing what we ask for. The team is knowledgeable, and once you get into it, the platform is really good. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about HackerRank Developer Skills Platform?

I don't really have much that I would say could be improved. Potentially, some new training could be developed going into some more specifics around interviewing and how to use the platform to get more out of it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

UI/UX is clean and easy to used. The testing is responsive. I often pre-create interview questions and use them by clicking a button to import a question. The chat and video call have come in handy when my usual video call has problems. The ability to see what users are doing in real-time has been very helpful. "HackerRank Makes Interview Prep Smooth with Instant Feedback"
4/5
What do you like best about HackerRank Developer Skills Platform?

I’ve had a really great experience using HackerRank to prepare for coding interviews. The problems span a wide range of topics and difficulty levels, which makes it easy to build my skills gradually and stay challenged. I also especially liked the coding environment and the instant feedback on submissions, since it made practice sessions smoother and more efficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about HackerRank Developer Skills Platform?

Overall, I had a positive experience. My main suggestion would be to provide more detailed explanations for some coding challenges and failed test cases, as that would make it easier to learn from mistakes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
