I've tried a few video hosting tools but this one really stands out the best! The user interface is really great and easy to navigate - not clunky at all. You can import videos from various sources which is a time saver. I love that it's mobile optimised as I use my phone for a lot of my content. Embedding videos is a breeze and the videos play smoothly with no issues like buffering. I like the analytics too - great to see what my users like (and don't like so much)! To be fair coming from Vimeo, the pricing. Without losing much on features. Also having actual representatives that can lead you through hurdles and questions is very rare for these types of tools, so major props to the "support" team for being there and being understanding! Gumlet provides the best video protection for your educational videos. I am a course creator and I want to protect my videos. It has been the best feature to protect your videos. Gumlet also provides customized branding options in the video player. So you can get all your videos with branding and grow your business. The bandwidth limitation they provide is on a monthly basis. Because if I have uploaded 25+ videos, my video size goes over 3 GB. Gumlet is incredibly easy to use. The feature set is quite robust and has the features I need and expect from a top end streaming website and video host. I've been looking at several different video hosting services and this is one that really stands out. I'm impressed with the numbers of features there are. Gumlet has been a total game-changer for me because it let me share my online video course content easily and efficiently. As a university lecturer, I was really worried about my students downloading and sharing my online videos without asking for my permission. But because of Gumlet's DRM features, I now can protect my videos and also can make sure that my contents will only seen during the right period of time and by the right people.

One thing that is really cool about this SAAS is the high level of customization that I get with the video player. I now can make it look and feel just right for my specific course, giving my students a very smooth viewing experience.

One more good thing is the AI subtitles engine – this feature is a lifesaver, It help making my content accessible to a lot wider audience/students. My students based from China can now accessing to my VDO easilier. In addition to that, the API integration has also made my workflow so much easier. And the Gumlet support team is very helpful . They are alway there when I needed a hand.

Not much for the price. Especially when I am comparing to their competitors in market. However, there are some areas that could be improvement. For instance, the lack of subscriber management feature and also the lacking support for Chromecast might be limiting for some creators. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Gumlet makes it very easy to upload videos and then either share with clients or embed on websites. I like how you can customize sets of videos into collections and then sort those into playlists. It takes some getting used to with the user interface. The collections are managed in a sub-menu which was one of the most used areas at first. I've found that although I have a fast internet connection and 4K source material that the player seems to default at or under 720p even though it should be more. From my experience, implementing Widevine DRM has been quite easy in terms of video security features. One other comment is that I appreciate how they have made the video encryption process simpler. Instead of struggling with multiple DRM systems individually, they have put together Widevine, PlayReady and FairPlay into one package, making it much simpler to secure video content on various platforms and devices.

What matters the most is how easily they have automated the encoding process to their video workflow. After you have configured your DRM policies, it is more or less a set and forget system. Every video is positioned and secured in accordance with your requirements and key management is out of the picture. Without a doubt, one of the most annoying things about Gumlet has been their CNAME charging policy. To say that custom domain support is an extra feature does not come off quite right, as it is pretty much the norm for most CDN and media service providers. This does feel like its pricing policy is making a segmentation for a feature that really should be given on a broad based understanding.

As irritating as this is, the other system which bothers me is how they charge me for storage space. It seems particularly inefficient as it relates to their method of storage in relation to video deletion. With storage on the library, the video removal option is always available, so whenever I delete a video in my library, in a few seconds I expect to see that storage updated. But there is a very annoying lag in their system. In this phase, you virtually pay for the storage that is sitting idle. This type of issue reverses the situation, particularly when you are working with a gigantic media library and require figures for the current storage space in relation to cost.
