During our push to serve optimized images from our online store, we did not have the resources and time to convert all our current store product images. There was also the issue of browsers not supporting WebP and the overhead required to check compatibility and deliver either format of an image, was daunting. ImageKit was our saving grace as their service automatically selects the best format to deliver an image based on original format and device-support without our marketing team having to manually reformat images. Integrating ImageKit was made easy by their well structured documentation, which I referenced to configure our web server as an origin in the ImageKit dashboard. The only limitation is the hard cap when on the free plan. This made that we needed to monitor the usage and rewrite the integration before the images were not served. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
- free user option with fairly good resources to get started
- ability to manage the media files well
- ability to create watermarks on the I'mages and transform it according to use
- they have servers around the world and you can choose the closest one for better speed
- automatic optimization is really helpful
- we integrated with Amazon S3 and the results were great
- easily integrate with CMS like WordPress and Joomla
- detailed analytics and awesome support team Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
- nothing much but they could have made the site a little bit more user friendly Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Imagekit is the best offering on the market when it comes to getting image transforms and delivery up and running quickly. Their docs are amazing well organized and it's easy to get up and running on their system. Took me a few hours and we were good to go, speeding up our site and server significantly.
Their customer service is also next level. I was talking with their founders immediately when trying to create a complex custom transformation that was crucial for our product. They are fast, responsive, friendly, and go above and beyond for you! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing so far. They even have a generous free tier so it's great to just start out. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Support team were fantastic to deal with, helped us move/onboard sites over to imagekit and understand use cases for certain features. Their dashboard is simple and quite intuitive and you're emailed regular weekly/monthly reports. Their team also offer to help look through the account to help you make the most out of the platform. If I'm picky I'd like to see their custom domain feature be automated to save on a support ticket - but they answer them within a few minutes anyway. Perhaps some more best practice documents which would save on support tickets from my end? Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The fact that is optimizes image format based on the client requesting it is very clever and useful. Makes things like cross browser support much easier.
The support team answers fast, and takes feedback about the product very seriously.
Also, doing transformations on read, instead of write, makes the product a lot more versatile, and lowers operational costs, while allowing each image to be perfectly tailored for each particular scenario. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I'm missing support for videos, and maybe some moderation features.
It would be cool to have an integration with AWS Rekt without having to use S3 as backend.
It would also be great to have more regions available. Maybe sao paulo. Using it for South America, you can feel the latency, although it is not a deal breaker at all. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The transformations. They are literally a saviour. My site was totally unusable before this, as the images uploaded were of high quality (around 2MB). By using a combination of width, height and lazy load transform combinations, my sites load super fast and its a buttery smooth experience. Really simple to integrate into my react app as well with a single line of code.
Really responsive team and customer support as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I can't really think of much. They are honestly providing an absolutely necessary service and probably taking a monetary hit themselves to keep this going. So kudos to the entire team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is great middleware transformation from original image to custom width height by aspect ratio, pixel , percentage
, also reduce the file size. It gave 20GB bandwidth free for everyone without the needs of credit card.
Can easily integrate with aws s3 bucket in imagekit very easiy. most user friendly in transformation of image, non image files Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Named transformation is not correctly reduce image width height Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It enabled me to saving host bandwidth, crop/resize pictures and mos importantly reduce the bundle size drastically. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Price seems a little high with 49€ to enter the paid tier, sadly it does not have a progressive tier with a peg GB pricing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The system is really easy to implement and powerful to accelerate web site download and save on bandwith. The support is really personal and proactive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The media library is very limited but it's not the purpose of the service Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
ImageKit was easy to integrate with our product and shaved many weeks of development time which would have otherwise gone in building the same features. The support team was prompt in responding to our queries. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some of the advanced product features like transformation chaining have a slight learning curve. However ImageKits support team will help with technical doubts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The part I like the most it that it worked as advertised: after a simple registration, a quick change in the image URLs made the high-traffic pages on our website blazingly fast. No downtime since we use the service. One more thing: despite the name, it is also possible to deliver non-image files which is an extra bonus. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing particular to comment, ImageKit covers what we need. There is nothing to dislike about a service that works as advertised (and better). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have a blog site, which have around 2000 images and growing. Out of it 1K are served by imageKit and other 1K served by a competitor. I don't see any difference between the two and the images are loaded super-fast.
But the one great difference is that imageKit only consumes 110 MB bandwidth, in comparison to 2.11 GB by the competitor. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing as their is no downside in using imagekit and planning to add more images for my website in it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I had all my images in AWS S3, but I needed a quick way to resize the images to show on my site. Imagekit was very easy to link up to S3 and get running. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Looks like there is a big jump from free to paid. It would be nice to have a smaller paid plan to ease the gap. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Endpoints connected to non-static image sources. This enables us to do some really cool & fast dynamic image generation. Without Imagekit, our dynamic images would be not very performant, which leads to an overall slower website experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's not so easy to understand where are we using all our bandwidth within ImageKit. ImageKit dashboard provides have a monthly view with the highest consumption resources, but as we try to adjust things, it's hard to see if they're working until the next month. Simple steps to make my client's website load faster without having to optimise every single media file manually Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I was a little confused about integrating it - probably because it seemed so simple. The support team reached out and helped me to sort it out Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I'm not a developer but I was able to use imagekit with basic html skills. It has saved me a ton of bandwidth and more importantly, it has made my pages load faster which makes my customers happy.
I've also been very happy with the level of support provided - I've been able to further optimize my images by quite a bit with the help of the imagekit support team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing standsout to dislike in my opinion. Imagekit does what I was looking for and it does it well. Even their free plan is useful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Super easy to plug-in to your existing workflow. We got started within an hour, and the dynamic image resizing is incredible. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing so far! It might be good to be able to add multiple sources (like gcp and aws), but we don't need that ability right now. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
- Really nice free features!
- Works perfectly on WordPress!
- Img optimization are working very nicely Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
- That I can't personalize the domain name (all image are served with https://ik.imagekit.io/) might affect SEO on imgs...
- Not enough documentation about how to setup NETWORK BASED OPTIMIZATION on WordPress...
- Not serving img instantly, we can note the change when it's serving emoticons and image from their CDN (We see our emoticons/images for 1 sec then it changes to the one server by imagekit)... Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Simplest way to configure with roughly no coding. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Size of caching mechanism should be bigger so as to minimise bandwidth uses for large size images and happy to see video compression if possible soon. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I use imagekit.io for my website to display my products images, Had a best experience as the site loads images quickly and quality of the images is also not rendered. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Image search in the site should be improved Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The conversion of the images is very fast, the interface its also easy to handle. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The page speed its a little bit slower thar cloudinary, but cloudinary stopped working on my wordpress a weeks ago, and the resolution of the images i think that its a litlle bit low. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
image transformation based on query parameter Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Just 2 things
1. There should be some more pricing plans it's like from $0 to $49 per month.
2. Some features missing in imagekit-React SDK Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The feature I like best is that ImageKit selects the best format for each device. We don't have to do anything else to serve the correct image format to iOS devices or Mac OS Safari. It saves us a lot of time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
As of this writing, there is nothing that I don't like. After testing the service, I even recommended it to one of our biggest clients and they have signed-up for an account and are very much happy with it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
