After conducting thorough research and testing various image-focused CDN and optimization services, I found that Imagekit stands out as one of the best options available. I have tried most of the popular alternatives, such as Bunny, Cloudinary, and Imgix etc. For my current needs, Imagekit's free plan is ideal, offering an easy-to-use interface along with generous storage and bandwidth limits. I deploy Nuxt on Netlify, and Imagekit provides excellent integration with Nuxt through Nuxt Image. I also use the developer API to upload images and have not encountered any issues so far. If my usage grows, I would be happy to upgrade to a paid plan. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I don't have any real complaints so far. The custom domain feature appears to be quite useful, and I've tried it with Amazon S3. It would be even better if there were more integrations available, such as with Cloudflare R2. Having access to a custom domain could be a strong reason to upgrade, but at the moment, it's only offered starting from the Pro tier, which feels a bit too expensive for individual developers.
