## About Groundwater Modeling System 8.0
GMS provides tools for every phase of a groundwater simulation including site characterization, model development, calibration, post-processing, and visualization. GMS supports both finite-difference and finite-element models in 2D and 3D including MODFLOW 2000, MODPATH, MT3DMS/RT3D, SEAM3D, FEMWATER, PEST, UTEXAS, MODAEM and SEEP2D.

**What do you like best about Groundwater Modeling System 8.0?**

I can import data in many formats and I can visualize it in 3D. I can make different modeling algorithms like for example: MODFLOW, Modpath, mt3d, rt3d, seawat.

**What do you dislike about Groundwater Modeling System 8.0?**

This software is a bit expensive for the extended versions. For a novice user, the use of the program is difficult due to the large number of functions and a large number of algorithms used by the software.

**Recommendations to others considering Groundwater Modeling System 8.0:**

The Groundwater Modeling System is a very powerful software for modeling groundwater flow. It has several versions with different capabilities, but their price increases. Buy Modflow first and see if you are missing any features.
As you get to know the program, you may find that you are missing some features and then you can buy a higher version.
You have to spend a lot of time getting to know the Groundwater Modeling System, but if you become friends with it, it will be your favorite tool for groundwater modeling and water and environmental problem solving.
A big advantage of the Groundwater Modeling System is the possibility of making a model with an unstructirized grid. This allows you to solve complex problems without over-entering data.

**What problems is Groundwater Modeling System 8.0 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I forecast the impact of new investments (plants) on the water environment. I choose places for water intakes.
I designate protection zones for single wells and large groundwater intakes.
