**What do you like best about Grasshopper?**

I appreciate that Grasshopper allows us to have multiple extensions, and it does both calling and texting. Altogether, we haven't found another software that allows multiple extensions plus calling and texting. It's convenient to have private extensions as well as main phone menu extensions. We can set custom schedules for all users on all extensions. This feature helps us manage different types of calls, whether for homeowners, current guests, reservation inquiries, or after-hours emergencies (extremely important). The ability for managers to have their own extension where phone calls can be forwarded as needed is super convenient. Setting up Grasshopper was very easy, with easy onboarding, easy user addition, extension setup, and billing plan selection.

**What do you dislike about Grasshopper?**

With scheduling, when there are things like a shift change or multiple changes that need to happen, there is no bulk edit option. We have to go through each user and each extension separately, which can be very, very time-consuming.

**What problems is Grasshopper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Grasshopper allows us to have multiple extensions for tailored communication, doing both calling and texting, which is nice for managing interactions with homeowners, guests, and vendors. It replaces having to use personal/individual cell numbers, offering professionalism and convenience for a growing team.

**What do you like best about Grasshopper?**

This application is very easy to use and genuinely user-friendly. It didn’t really require any training at all to get started. Performance-wise, it works well, and pricing-wise, it’s incredibly reasonable.

**What do you dislike about Grasshopper?**

Sometimes the application can lag a little bit; it doesn't seem to matter whether I use it on my phone or the desktop.

**What problems is Grasshopper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This allows us to connect with our patient's via text message and phone call. It is easy to use on my phone so I can do this wherever I am at.

**What do you like best about Grasshopper?**

It is easy to use and effective and affordable. Calls come through and the app is easy to navigate. We use it daily for our business and haven't had any communication issues since switching over to it.

**What do you dislike about Grasshopper?**

I dont like that the phone calls come in without showing caller ID or the name of the caller, even if the person is a saved contact.

**What problems is Grasshopper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our old phone system was also VOIP but much much more expensive and the cost was unnecessarily high. It was also very hard to navigate and overcomplicated. I appreciate that Grasshopper is very straightforwrd.

**What do you like best about Grasshopper?**

Pretty straight forward UI. Phone number, messages, alerts and that’s it. That makes it easy to operate, performance wise it doesn’t require too many stuff like nowadays phones. Pricing is fair for what you pay.

Functionality wise, limited. In case you want to add integrations to send is not that friendly.

**What do you like best about Grasshopper?**

I hate grasshopper but if I had to come up with one nice thing to say it would be that it was easy to sign up.  Everything  else was terrible.

**What do you dislike about Grasshopper?**

The software is terrible and hard to use but what motivated me to leave a review is how difficult they make it to cancel their service.

You can't cancel through the website or the app.  You have to call customer service and answer a bunch of questions.  Then they put me on hold for 6 minutes while they were "canceling the account" and they give BS excuses for why it is so hard to cancel the account.

This is a trully terrible company.

They offer a phone service but it doesn't work well and they make it super hard to cancel.

It is a powerful tool to make calls and receive text messages, along with listening to faxes and voice messages after calls.

**What do you dislike about Grasshopper?**

It freezes a lot. It asks for multiple updates, and it does not update. Sometimes calls drop without a notice, and if they close the call, then it freezes and we have to restart the app.

Is solving the problem of the company I work with as a main application to receive and make phone calls, along with text messages and faxes.

Not much. I got a number and *thought* it was going to be a useful tech to have for my business.

**What do you dislike about Grasshopper?**

Where to begin... Not knowing that I was going to have to go through all kinds of legal crap with my PLLC and such, it took longer to register this number because of all of that, which was then longer than the free trial. Then it keeps forgetting who I am, and I have to reset password when I go into the app because I don't use it enough to count. Overall, tech support has been not so supportive.

I needed a business number. I got one.

That the dialer works consistenly and access to verfication as a business,.. in the long run a better result

The support function was a nightmare as was the signup process. They closed my account fo rnon payment,.. then issued a blanket statement saying their policy doest allow for refunds of any kind, and finally the support function just goes in circles. It was really, really bad.I was surprised given the reviews I had from fellow business owners. It was like of the three items you need to set up an account- all three went as poorly as possible.

**What do you like best about Grasshopper?**

Grasshopper was very user friendly. 
It was easy to use and never really had a need to contact customer support. 
We used it for a few years and were very satisfied.
The implemenation was easy and we loved that we can use it on a line line/VOIP or also log into the Grasshopper app and answer on the go. 
Grasshopper app is slightly better than our current company.

**What do you dislike about Grasshopper?**

Downside was that we grew rather quickly and needed to switch to another company to meet our needs. Other than that, we would've stayed. 
Plus I believe our new company has better perks when using an 800 number with them.

The need to answer mutliple calls at once plus the ability to have mutliple answering the phones. Not to mention, the ease of forwarding the call or forwarding a line to another phone.

The contacts feature has been pretty glitchy but since we got it there has been a ton of updates regarding the contacts feature so I know they are working on it!

Adequate service. Most companies require some level of security to change primary information... Not this company.

**What do you dislike about Grasshopper?**

No Security. All anyone needs to steal your account and phone number is your credit card information. They will not return the service or business phone number back to you without a court order.They send an email to inform you that your information and account email was changed, but never sent one prior to authorization. Move your number while you can!

It was easy to sign up and get the phone number forwarded.

When switching numbers, there was a huge delay in when the forwarding would actually become active. Features to ring certain numbers at certain times was confusing and time intensive.

It is very reliable and can always grab the call for you...even when you are too busy to.  In business you aren't always available to grab the call, but you also can't miss it!

I haven't had any feature that I dislike.  It gives you plenty of options that you can streamline for your particular  business needs.  Nothing to dislike about that.

Grasshopper can always pick up those calls for you, even when you aren't able to yourself.  The auto-reply text to missed calls is so helpful and let's the customer know they are important.

The best part of the software is the ability to design any object with mere points and customize the shape of the objects. It's revolutionary. Amazing! I love it.

**What do you dislike about Grasshopper?**

It is a very difficult software to learn if you don't have a basic level of understanding of the 3D world.  It takes time to learn how to use the software. But once you learn it, it's an wonderful software.

I created beautiful 3D shapes that couldn't be designed using any conventional 3D CAD tool. The designs were then 3D printed. I used topology optimization to it's fullest potential using Grasshopper

I like that it's a set it and forget it solution. I've never had an issue and it separates my personal from my business calls.

I'd like to be able to text more than one picture at a time.

The ease of call forwarding to a call center is huge. It allows my business to operate in a professional manner and helps us to appear bigger than we are.

**What do you like best about Grasshopper?**

Grasshopper is a great service ... until you cancel. Then ... not so much!

**What do you dislike about Grasshopper?**

I cancelled my account and requested a refund as they withdrew $464.78 from my account on June 25th, 2022. I called on that date and they confirmed a refund. Fast forward to July 02, 2022, and the rep had no record of a refund OR a cancelled account. He stated he would process the cancellation and refund and confirmed this would all be sent via email. No email came. Grasshopper owes me almost half a grand. Called twice and was told both times a refund would be issued. I am now going to file a chargeback against them in order to reclaim the money they very clearly stole.

None. They lied to me twice.

**What do you like best about Grasshopper?**

Unified phone system.  We are a mobile service company and it allows us to have the technicians keep using their own phones and customize our on call schedule.  The call blasting is great to make sure no call gets missed.

**What do you dislike about Grasshopper?**

Poor call quality.  Often it takes several attempts to make an outgoing call.  The voice mails do not stay on the system for more than 30 days.   The name of the caller is visible on the windows app, but it does not get recorded in the call log.  While the messaging system could handle pictures it seemed to be limited to that and no other file types.  

The worst part, in my opinion, is that when porting our numbers away from grasshopper we would be losing access to our SMS/MMS records, with the only way to retrieve them is by taking screen shots.   With thousands of messages from the past few years, it is not a feasible task, so we will either lose access to our records or continue to pay a hostage fee.  Some of their support staff were somewhat sympathetic to our issue, but there was nothing they could do.

**Recommendations to others considering Grasshopper:**

There are many better platforms out there that have considerably more features and interoperability.

A couple of years ago I was traveling and didn't have a roaming package and I missed some calls and texts because of it.  Grasshopper was a good solution, for next time I traveled, I could keep up with my texts, phone calls, voicemails.

**What do you like best about Grasshopper?**

Grasshopper allows me to use my very own cellphone as a work phone day in and day out. It can plug in and work with slack and Hubspot to channel all the call information to our CRM to collect the data too. What I love most is that every voicemail comes with a written transcription so that I do not have to listen to every voicemail if I do not have the time. It also allows texting with customers, as well as several lines to be added for our support team. My supervisor is also able to monitor the texts and calls that come through.

**What do you dislike about Grasshopper?**

The only thing that I dislike is that sometimes the call does not always come through. This issue has to do with service in the area I'm in as well, though. It can drop calls just like a standard provider.

**Recommendations to others considering Grasshopper:**

I am a huge advocate for Grasshopper! I think it will be a great asset to any team.

**What problems is Grasshopper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Grasshopper allows customers the ability to text Customer Support if they cannot call and also lets me send an automated response text to them if I am on the other line asking them to write in what their request is while they wait.

On heavy call days, this alleviates the stress of juggling multiple calls tremendously.

Grasshopper was functional via smartphone app and web browser.

The Grasshopper platform was slow, visually outdated, and the smartphone app had multiple glitches while in use - it was often easier to close the app and start over when attempting to make a second or third call in a row.

Grasshopper had good security through the VOIP need to hide your personal number.

Grasshopper is a neat plug-in for Rhinoceros that allows for some smart, complicated math to create experimental design. It requires some almost "coding" but for those with a puzzle-minded brain, it's enjoyable to work with and try different options.

In order to call people in Hawaii, and forward calls to phone numbers in Hawaii I need to activate international calling and then I get charged international calling for calling someone down the street in Hawaii and get charged international calling when someone down the street calls me. I dislike that very much.

The best thing about using Grasshopper for our phone system is the setup. Working in a startup, everyone is on mobile for calls, but using Grasshopper allows staff to continue using their personal phones without giving out their personal phone number to every person they contact. Since voicemails are also sent to each user's email, forwarding to the correct person is very easy to do. An optional feature is also voice to text for all voicemails. If you are in a meeting, it's very helpful to be able to read the transcribed messages in your inbox and respond to urgent messages instead of having to step aside to hear your voicemail.

**What do you dislike about Grasshopper?**

Some of the features are not intuitive because you are using your mobile phone, desktop, or the app on your phone. The most frequently used feature is call transfer, and I have to look up how to do it every time or give the caller the correct extension and ask them to redial. It would be very helpful to have a transfer option built into the app itself.

**Recommendations to others considering Grasshopper:**

Perfect for small businesses and startups. No need to invest in a full desktop phone system, use the power of the Grasshopper app on your mobile phone and present your business in a professional manner.

A full phone system is very expensive and desk phones take up a lot of space. As a startup, it's much more cost effective to use Grasshopper's virutual phone system. It takes little to no time at all to learn the system since you are already using your own phone. Setting up a new user take 5 minutes and there is quite a bit of personalization (time zone, hours, how many rings, etc).

Very affordable.  I like that they have an app that you can use to access your voicemails and texts.

Accuracy of the Inbox is VERY poor.  Their tech support has told me that the app will log out automatically after not using for a while.  The problem is there is no indication to the user.  When they open up the app again, it shows several voicemails in the Inbox, but they are not all really there!  This is very confusing to my users.  Every other app that I have will automatically update the Inbox upon opening, or refreshing.  Grasshopper does not.  I strongly dislike this aspect!  I may look for an alternative to this service.

Decent interface, you can text, call, leave voicemails, multiple lines, and instant responses. Also, quick support bot in case you need any assistance. Plus the mobile app, it's a plus!

The app itself doesn't have a built-in option section, so you'll have to use your browser to configure your stuff. The ringing sounds a bit cheap, I might say.

Also mentioning a few bugs and having troubles with logged sessions.

Multiple incoming calls, we have different extensions that help us divide the queue. We reduced our missed call rate due to its waiting system.

I love being able to have an app on my phone for our business line and take calls from my cell phone, but I still have a separate business number, so I am not using my personal number. It makes it more professional, and I can take office calls from anywhere! Not only can I take calls from my office number, but I can also text as well. You just need the app, not even an actual landline phone.

I wouldn't say I like that they don't seem to filter spam texts. They can sometimes crowd the inbox.

I can now have my office phone with me wherever I go! I had to worry about missing important calls when we just had a landline office phone, but now I don't have to worry about that. It is also lovely to be able to set up different extensions for different staff members. The best part is that it is so much cheaper than a landline!

We used this service for almost 5 years without issue. It was reliable 99%.

After almost 5 years, they lost ownership of our business phone number. We are now on week 2 of this issue and we don't have any solutions from them while people who call may think we are out of business. The customer service has been odd - we only speak to "level one" techs who dont know what is going on with the other levels. We told them when we called that our number appears to have been hijacked. They came up with another reason it wasnt working. Then a week later stated that the number was out of their possession.

**Recommendations to others considering Grasshopper:**

If you need a consistent number for your business, I cannot recommend Grasshopper. We have not received the level of support we should when such a tragedy has occurred.

I like the fact that I am assigned a toll-free number that forwards the caller to a main prompt. It forwards callers to either a particular extension or to a general extension such as the operator. These calls are forwarded to my cell phone so I can distinguish incoming calls a personal or business.

**What do you dislike about Grasshopper?**

Sometimes incoming calls appear as unknown caller as opposed to the company telephone number. For the most part, this is not a problem.

**Recommendations to others considering Grasshopper:**

If you currently do not have an office space or take incoming business calls while on the go, Grasshopper is definitely the service to consider. This eliminates the need to purchase multiple phones.

The fact that I can distinguish business and personal incoming calls enables me to prepare to answer the phone accordingly. There are currently no actual issues to resolve with Grasshopper at this time.

I liked the idea of Grasshopper - a low-cost phone system where I could get up and running right away.

**What do you dislike about Grasshopper?**

The service and execution were poor. I signed up for a trial, configured everything and then went to upgrade to paid. I could not upgrade to paid. It continued to error out. 
I contacted support (phone and email) and was told that my trial was broken and that I needed to create a new account. When I called, the phone service was horrible and kept breaking up. I have used Vonage business for years from this same location and never had quality issues like this. 
I could not create a new account using my same email. I asked that they delete the account so I could create a new account. They told me they could not delete it and that I needed to call billing/account retention to delete it. If I did that, I couldn't just move over the number. 
I reached out to support again, sure that this craziness was a mistake. Nope. This is how they treat you. It went from being a solution to meet my needs to being about them and their sales numbers. 
I had been planning to sign up for an annual plan. 
I am so thankful this happened - after experiencing their support I have decided it it worth the additional cost and signed up with RingCentral instead.

I paid for an annual account with them for less than 30 days. The account was opened on March 5th, i called today (April 3rd) to cancel my account because grasshopper lacks the features I need to operate my business. The rep on the phone asked why i wanted to cancel and after I told her i went with one of their competitors (ringcentral) she said refunds are not authorized. When asked to speak with a supervisor she said noone was available at the moment and hung up on me. This is the worst customer service!!
