It is significantly easier for developers to add a location aspect to their applications with minimal effort. Speed and accuracy are also very good. Using API you can customize the city, zoom level, and add an additional filter as well. We can search for any type of location, including street addresses and exact landmarks. While using Google Place we will get some location suggestions and that is not editable. Apart from this, I didn't get any point to dislike this awesome API. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Google Maps are, in my opinion, the most widely-recognized maps in the United States. Access to maps through an API is a great tool for the developer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Terminology and documentation can be confusing. The web-based documentation can often be circular. i.e. A link on one page leads to some information that links back to your original one. The "Wait how did I find this?" moment seemed to strike often as I was trying to learn the API. The information doesn't seem to be laid out intuitively and, in my opinion, finding crucial information regarding how to use different techniques along with security can be difficult at times. Google APIs have amazing integration with other services. It allows me to communicate with other online services. It has no support other than google. We can not index our stuff because we have no control since it is google's index. There is no stability of google APIs. If Google does not make money with API, they just close this product Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The directions and the SDK guide available for the developers to work on it. It is simple as it is. It is very useful for the developers to utilize and implement the map API whether it is Android or iOS or JavaScript solution is simple and Google developer makes the SDK and API as easy as they can. The tutorials provided are easy to understand. They can be used for drawing lines, distance calculation, route finding, street views, and many more to get into it. As simple as if we have a billing account we can create it in 5 mins. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Payment and billing can be reduced and free developer support versions can be included. Every time I try to implement the API I face problems like billing issues or more. After some weeks the trial period or free will be over and it will show developer-only mode in the map, provide more and focus on street view map implementation concepts. These are all my dislikes in Google Map API I'm sure that the Google team will fix it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The key winner with the Google Maps API is the all-too-familiar Google Maps interface that we're so accustomed to using their flagship product. It's easy to understand and navigate for users that are not very technologically inclined. Also, there are enough customization capabilities such as custom markers etc. to make it personalized. Also, standard gestures (such as click-to-drag are intuitive). The API is responsive and performant. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The documentation isn't as delightful as I'd want it to be. I wish there were more examples. Ended up relying on online examples and open source implementations to achieve desired goals. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
