"Standardized Metrics and Consistent Dashboards with GoodData.AI"
5/5
What do you like best about GoodData.AI?

It is essential to have data consistency while managing our risk profiles and insurance policies for our automation contracts at WERPRO. The Semantic Layer Tools provided by GoodData.AI have been a blessing for me in my professional life. All our risk indicators, loss ratios, and premium metrics can be defined once. All the dashboards I share with our executives and the insurance brokers outside will be based on the same definitions. It will make sure that there are no differences while we are renegotiating insurance policies or checking safety compliance metrics each quarter. I am now able to provide liability reports without any concerns because of standardized business logic throughout the company. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GoodData.AI?

In terms of customizing the visual presentation of the dashboards, there is some room for improvement. There are times when I wish I had more flexibility in terms of format when I have to prepare risk reports for our insurance partners. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Anna Slabunova of GoodData.AI

Hi Klaus! Defining risk indicators, loss ratios, and premium metrics once, and having every executive and broker dashboard use the same definitions, is a big part of why we built the semantic layer. Thank you for explaining how it helps in your quarterly renegotiations and compliance checks.

On report formatting for outside partners, you may want to look at AI Publisher, a feature for building branded, presentation-style reports from live data that can be exported as PDF or PPTX: https://www.gooddata.ai/docs/cloud/experimental-features/ai-publisher/

If you tell me which formats you need for those reports, I’ll pass it to the product team: anna.slabunova@gooddata.com.

"Faster Work and Clearer Data, with Occasional Prompt Repeats"
4.5/5
What do you like best about GoodData.AI?

What stands out most about GoodData.AI is how easily it bridges the gap between complex data and everyday business decisions. The generative AI feature makes data exploration feel completely natural. Team members can just ask questions in plain English and get immediate, structured answers without needing to submit a ticket to the data team for every custom report.

What really makes it work well is that it’s grounded in GoodData’s semantic layer. Because the AI relies on standardized business definitions, you don't get the weird hallucinated numbers or inconsistent metrics that often happen with standalone AI tools. It saves a ton of time for non-technical users while letting data engineers focus on higher-value projects instead of building endless ad-hoc reports. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GoodData.AI?

What I dislike most about GoodData.AI is that the quality of its responses completely depends on how well your initial semantic layer is set up. If your underlying data definitions or metrics aren't perfectly mapped out beforehand, the AI can easily misinterpret complex queries or return incomplete answers. Additionally, for highly intricate, multi-layered data requests, you still often need a data analyst to step in and double-check the logic. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Anna Slabunova of GoodData.AI

Hi Dana! Thank you for such a clear breakdown! Plain-English questions answered from standardized business definitions, with no ticket to the data team, is exactly what we built the AI on the semantic layer for. Great to hear it’s freeing up your data engineers too.

Because the AI Assistant works from your semantic layer, well-defined metrics and descriptions help it give precise answers. For tips on keeping the semantic layer in good shape, take a look at the Semantic Quality Agent page: https://www.gooddata.ai/docs/cloud/analytics-catalog/semantic-quality-agent/

"Agentic Analytics Delivers Instant, Governed Insights for My Sales Territory"
5/5
What do you like best about GoodData.AI?

The Agentic Analytics is an indispensable feature for me. Rather than having to search through several reports to check my daily call numbers and pipeline health, I can just inquire from the AI agent. It delivers governed and precise data on my sales territory instantly. It enables me to automate my end-of-week performance report generation right within my workflow to make sure that I am constantly aligned with my goals at Fkilp. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GoodData.AI?

At times, the AI agent has difficulty understanding highly specific and conversational queries related to complex quota structures, and I need to adjust my prompts to receive the exact data analysis. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Anna Slabunova of GoodData.AI

Hi Jayme! Thank you for the review! Getting instant, governed answers on your daily call numbers and pipeline health from the AI agent, and automating your end-of-week reports, is exactly what we hope to deliver. Glad it’s saving you hours of selling time every week.

We hear you on the agent having difficulty with highly specific queries about complex quota structures. Our AI Assistant best practices guide has tips on getting more precise results: https://www.gooddata.ai/docs/cloud/ai/use-ai_assistant/ai-best-practices/

"Embedded Analytics in Days, with a MAQL Learning Curve"
4/5
What do you like best about GoodData.AI?

I like GoodData.AI’s API-first, headless design. The React SDK lets us embed charts in our app with our own styling, and the Python SDK and declarative APIs let us keep metrics, dashboards, and permissions in Git and deploy them through CI/CD. The semantic layer keeps metric definitions consistent, so a change updates dashboards and tenants without mismatched numbers. Multi-tenant workspaces are easy to provision, and the AI assistant helps non-technical users get answers without raising tickets. It cuts our development effort: we can embed a dashboard in a few hours instead of building charts from scratch, and ship customer-facing dashboards in days instead of sprints. Analytics-as-code also lets us review and test changes in staging and roll them back easily. I appreciate that we can reuse one semantic layer across tenants, enforce row-level security with data filters, and avoid manual dashboard drift between environments. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GoodData.AI?

MAQL has a learning curve for developers like me who are used to plain SQL, and debugging complex metrics could be easier with clearer error messages. Some SDK and API docs lag behind new releases, so I sometimes check GitHub examples or ask support. Deep visual customization beyond the default chart options takes extra effort, and designing the semantic model, learning MAQL, and setting up per-tenant data filters took a couple of weeks to get right. Better local dev tooling, a MAQL playground with autocomplete and inline validation in VS Code, versioned docs, more end-to-end React and Python samples, and a CLI to diff and promote workspace changes would make the workflow smoother. "Makes embedded analytics and automation feel effortless once you get past the setup"
3.5/5
What do you like best about GoodData.AI?

Honestly, the best part is how everything just works together. The semantic layer lets you set up your business logic once and it stays consistent across every report, dashboard, or workflow. Embedding analytics into our product was surprisingly smooth thanks to the API-first design. And the newer AI features like the Agent Builder and MCP Server have made it possible to go beyond just viewing data to actually automating decisions. It feels like a platform that was built for where analytics is heading, not where it was five years ago. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GoodData.AI?

If I had to pick something, the learning curve at the start can be a bit steep, especially when you are setting up the semantic layer and configuring data models for the first time. The documentation is there but it takes some digging to find exactly what you need. Also, the UI could feel more intuitive for non-technical users who just want to build quick reports without going deep into the platform. Pricing transparency upfront would also be nice since you mostly have to go through sales to get a clear picture of costs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Anna Slabunova of GoodData.AI

Hi Mohammed! “Built for where analytics is heading” is a great way to put it, thank you! It’s good to hear the semantic layer keeps your numbers consistent across dashboards, reports, and workflows, and that embedding through the API went smoothly. Glad the Agent Builder and MCP Server are already taking repetitive reporting off your plate.

Thanks for the honest notes on the initial semantic layer setup, finding the right docs, and the UI for non-technical users. All three are going to the team.

"Easy Data Visualization, Though Advanced Features Take Time to Learn"
3.5/5
What do you like best about GoodData.AI?

I had worked on Tableau before and it was repetitive and heavy manual but with Good Data AI everything is so easy and especially the data visualization part. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GoodData.AI?

Sometimes the initial setup and the learning curve for some of the more advanced features can feel a bit steep. It took me a little time to get fully comfortable with how everything is laid out and organized, but once I got the hang of it, everything ran smoothly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Anna Slabunova of GoodData.AI

Hi Ashutosh! Thanks for sharing your experience! It’s great to hear GoodData.AI made data visualization so much easier compared to the repetitive, manual work you had with Tableau, and that your daily reporting is now faster and less error-prone.

We understand the initial setup and advanced features can take some time to get comfortable with, and we’re glad it all clicked once you got the hang of it. Our Getting Started guide walks through the setup step by step: https://www.gooddata.ai/docs/cloud/getting-started/

"Easy to Use and Time-Saving, Though Accuracy Needs Work"
4/5
What do you like best about GoodData.AI?

I find GoodData.AI easy to use and helpful for getting things done quickly. It saves me time and effort, reduces manual work, and makes handling data and my daily work simpler. I like having useful information in one place, which makes my work simpler and more convincing, and being able to get the information I need quickly without spending too much time figuring things out. The initial setup was straightforward, and I got started without much difficulty. The platform was simple to understand. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GoodData.AI?

Sometimes I find the results could be more accurate and relevant, and the answers could be clearer and easier to understand. I’d also like faster response times, more consistent results, and features that are easier to understand. A more detailed beginner’s guide and connections to commonly used apps and software would be helpful too. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Anna Slabunova of GoodData.AI

Hi Mohit! Quick, simple, and everything in one place is what we’re after, so it’s good to hear that’s how GoodData.AI feels to you, and that getting started was easy.

Thanks for being specific about what could be better, all are going to the team.

If you can tell me which results felt off or unclear, I’ll pass the details to the team: anna.slabunova@gooddata.com.

"GoodData.AI Delivers Trusted, Plain-English Analytics with Strong Governance"
5/5
What do you like best about GoodData.AI?

It lets users ask business questions in plain English and get data-driven answers grounded in the organization’s semantic layer and business rules. This reduces confusion and supports better decision-making. I also appreciate the strong data governance and transparency, along with its integration capabilities, which make the insights easier to trust while bringing data from multiple sources together into a single analytics experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GoodData.AI?

What I dislike about GoodData.AI is that there can be a real learning curve when it comes to setting up and managing the semantic layer and the more advanced analytics features. As a new user, you may need time to fully grasp the platform’s data modeling concepts before you can take advantage of everything it offers. On top of that, more complex customizations and integrations can require solid technical expertise, which may be difficult for smaller teams that don’t have dedicated analytics resources. Since GoodData’s AI features depend on the underlying semantic model, organizations also need to invest time in building, maintaining, and refining that foundation in order to get the best results. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Anna Slabunova of GoodData.AI

Hi! Thank you for the detailed review! It’s good to know the semantic layer and governance are giving you confidence in the answers, and that you’re spending less time hunting for the right numbers.

We hear you on the learning curve with the semantic layer and data modeling, especially for smaller teams. Our Model Data guide walks through the concepts step by step: https://www.gooddata.ai/docs/cloud/model-data/

"Powerful Embedded Analytics, Though Setup Takes Time"
3.5/5
What do you like best about GoodData.AI?

GoodData.AI makes it really easy to embed analytics directly into our product without needing to build out a separate BI infrastructure. The semantic layer keeps our metrics consistent across every dashboard, and the AI-assisted insights surface things our end users wouldn't have thought to look for on their own. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GoodData.AI?

Honestly there isn't a lot to dislike once you're up and running. The main friction is just the initial configuration, which takes some investment of time. I'd love to see more pre-built connectors and templates to speed that part up. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Anna Slabunova of GoodData.AI

Hello Jonas! Thanks for the great review! Embedding analytics without building separate BI infrastructure, consistent metrics through the semantic layer, and AI-assisted insights for your end users are exactly what we hope to deliver. It’s especially good to hear your engineering team has been freed up from one-off customer reports.

Your suggestion on pre-built connectors and templates to speed up initial configuration is a useful one, and we’ll pass it along to the team. In the meantime, our Getting Started guide walks through the setup step by step: https://www.gooddata.ai/docs/cloud/getting-started/

"Semantic Layer Tools Keep Our Marketing Metrics Consistent and Compliant"
4.5/5
What do you like best about GoodData.AI?

The Semantic Layer Tools ensure that we have strict consistency in our marketing metrics. We are bound by strict advertising laws in Switzerland relating to our health industry. Using GoodData.AI means that my automation workflows have a consistent definition of what a qualified lead is, compared to our financial reporting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GoodData.AI?

Updating new metric definitions can be a bit of a clunky process in the semantic layer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Anna Slabunova of GoodData.AI

Hi Lili! Thanks for sharing this! Having one definition of a qualified lead that works for both your marketing automation and your financial reporting is the kind of consistency the semantic layer is built for, and it’s great that your email sequences now run on data your sales team agrees with.

We hear you that updating metric definitions can feel clunky. That’s useful for us to know, and I’ll pass it on to the team. In the meantime, this page covers working with metrics: https://www.gooddata.ai/docs/cloud/create-metrics/

If you have a specific example of where the process slowed you down, I’d be glad to hear it at anna.slabunova@gooddata.com.
