"Trivial Setup, Great Git-Synced Markdown Docs with a WYSIWYG Editor"
5/5
What do you like best about GitBook?

Gitbook is the only place to create markdown-based git-synced docs with a WYSIWYG editor. It was trivial to setup and use. It integrates well Git. However the performance of the editor can be laggy even on a laptop, especially when there are images. The free pricing of Community Edition was perfect for hosting my educational project. Support from Rodrigo on the support team was quick and helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitBook?

The UI lags heavily when multiple images are present, even on a modern browser and laptop. TeX math is a pain to insert and edit. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Clean Documentation but Clunky Collaboration"
3.5/5
What do you like best about GitBook?

I like that GitBook provides clean, professional documentation, which makes it easy for readers to go through. I also appreciate the version history feature. Additionally, GitBook was fairly easy to navigate, with a clean structure and easy navigation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitBook?

GitBook was really clunky when it came to collaborating simultaneously on something. It didn't work very well with multiple people at the same time, which was kind of frustrating. While one person working on it was no problem, it could get a little frustrating with two or more people at the same time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Efficient Documentation Platform with Limited Advanced Customization"
4.5/5
What do you like best about GitBook?

I use GitBook for documentation for clients to use our tools. It allows us to lay out our documentation neatly without having to do heavy backend code. I like the content management system and the ability to link and manipulate how pages are grouped and collected together. The initial setup was pretty easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitBook?

Pricing can be expensive and customization can be limited if you want to go beyond basic documentation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Gitbook is the best place to make your website!"
5/5
What do you like best about GitBook?

I could upload a website completely free. Setting up and editing the website is extremely easy and intuitive, and best of all, I received very fast and helpful response by the team.

Natasza was so eager to help. She's the best! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about GitBook?

Its a little bit unclear and messy right now when it comes to their plans. It seems like you have to ask for permission for the community plan, which is simply what Gitbooks would claim is for free anyways. I'm not sure why they need you to make a formal request for something like this, but the team answered me really fast and approved my application to the community plan so it wasn't really a big problem.
