It automates many of the features within HEC-HMS. It's hard to imaging determining a NRCS (SCS) curve number (CN) in a matter of minutes, no matter the size of the watershed. But it does! Or checking hundreds of time-of-concentration routes in a watershed to determine the longest flow path in seconds. But it does! It automatically determines the impervious area, vegetative cover, watershed slope, and so much more. Hey, it even determines the watershed limits and breaks it down into sub-watersheds of maximum sizes if you want. It processes LiDAR and creates contour maps. What do I like best? I would say the most unbelievable part is it writes a complete report for you and creates the index - no lie! It's a huge timesaver that is unbelievable. But, their technical support is second to none. Thus, providing a user-friendly model that precisely calculates the necessary data, and allows the user to easily design their system. The tools within the software are intuitively easy to implement. All of this saves the user vast amounts of time, especially when compared to the use of multiple programs to perform the same tasks. This software is now our go to for all of our stormwater design projects. GeoHECHMS's customer service is the best I have had the pleasure of dealing with. They are prompt to respond, and are able to swiftly fix any model errors. **What do you dislike about GeoHECHMS?** Most of the error messages clearly state exactly what the error is and where to fix it within your model. But some of the error messages are vague. **What problems is GeoHECHMS solving and how is that benefiting you?** Through GeoHECHMS's incorporation of elevation, soil, and rainfall data, stormwater models are quickly and easily created and analyzed. The software's ability to blend these data sets into a cohesive model eliminates the need to use multiple software programs and hand calculations to derive the required data needed to create an accurate stormwater model. It made modelling alot easier and streamlined. I was able to import or export GeoHECHMS to a multitude of other programs so my coworkers can use the data that im generating in their part of the project. Also the customer service is amazing. I am going to school part time and working for a consulting company which means I am mostly working on the weekends and at night. I was able to talk to the support teams 24/7. Every support team member I spoke too was really knowledgeble, friendly, and had alot of patience. Any I was able to get an answer to. I used GeoHECHMS every day for about 1 month to develop a stormwater plan for a city nearby. I was able to develop a more accurate model on GEOHMS faster that I could with normal HEC-HMS. GeoHMS was very easy to use. and after a few tutorials and customer service call I am able to do most things on my own now. This software is very easy ti implement. **What do you dislike about GeoHECHMS?** I thought there should be more detailed tutorial videos, especially with the start up with the program. I did something funny upon start up. something like installing the wrong HECHMS engine or something that crashed my program. I think there should be some tutoiral videos on how to start and download the program, pre moddeling. **What problems is GeoHECHMS solving and how is that benefiting you?** It is solving me with modelling hypothetical storms for stormwater design analysis. Stressful onboarding process. Salesperson was phoning relentlessly, daily sometimes twice daily, and haggling hard on prices. I would call it an aggressive sales strategy. The website also is not very informative and initially looked like a scam. But after asking several times and back and forth the salesperson agreed to give a free demo of the product and it is not bad. I currently do not use the product much because it is not my area of focus. You don't have to exit the program to find information that you need for each watershed. Being a first time user, the online tutorials were also very helpful. Some of the most useful are the delineate watershed and subbasins, compute slopes, computing flow paths, and extracting the storgae are volume curve. The user interface is extremly easy to navigate and is much more intuitive to use then regular HECHMS. Overall it has been a time saver on the projects I have used it on. There are still bugs being worked on but the CIvilGeo team has been helpful and responsive to sugestions when issues have come up. **What do you dislike about GeoHECHMS?** There is a few features that still could use improvement or that I have had limited succes getting to work as intended. I wish the model would altert you if junctions or reaches weren't connceted it is easy to move items around and inadvertnly disconnect a feature. The software outputs are documented in an easy to understand format and easily reviewed and approved by city engineers to allow for the fast tracking of projects through all governmental agencies involved with the oversight and general approval of land development projects. Additionally, the software can be calibrated to any site or watershed conditions or physical characteristics such as large areas encompassing hundreds of acres, flat to extreme terrain, and water conveyance channels with any number of obstructions or flow control structures. **What do you dislike about GeoHECHMS?** So far........little to nothing. After watching the beginner video, I thought the program is very navigation friendly for fist time users like myself. The ribbons are laid out in a left-to-right fashion to aid in building the model naturally. You can "jump around" on the ribbon, but using the layout acts as a built-in checklist. I also like how the software "talks" to other programs like AutoCAD and GIS. You can seamlessly build the watershed and extract the watershed and other shapefiles and plug them into a GIS figure or import them into AutoCAD. The editing feature for the watershed is also game-changing. I don't have to boot up AutoCAD and delineate based on contours; the program can auto-generate watersheds based on LiDAR data. If the program does build a watershed(s) you disagree with, you can quickly edit the generated watersheds or merge smaller ones into larger ones without having to start over. Lastly, the reports page is very user-friendly, and this program can also generate reports for project documentation. **What do you dislike about GeoHECHMS?** I am still learning the program and haven't encountered too many errors. Sometimes there are little things you forget to toggle on or off, and you have to spend some time to work out what the error is. Sometimes it's simple as you are missing a junction or weather data; other times, you have multiple versions and an older one selected on a new project or open a previous project that used an older engine, and the program defaults to the latest version and can no longer run the model. **What problems is GeoHECHMS solving and how is that benefiting you?** I have not come across too many problems with the software. Some on my team use the program more than I do and have had issues. However, the support team at Civil Geo is accommodating and efficient. The support team knows you are working on a project for a client and have deadlines, so they do their best to diagnose and address the errors rapidly.
