Moreover, Genemod staff members have been quite responsive to our comments and suggestions, showing a willingness to improve the platform to tailor it to the users. Genemod has streamlined our lab management, making it much easier for our lab members to share resources. In particular, using the inventory features for liquid nitrogen cell inventory and other reagents has really helped us keep on top of lab stock. It's easy to have multiple team members access one account where each member can search for samples/boxes, add/remove, and edit samples/boxes. Our lab has had trouble with adding users and some users being continually denied access. Not too sure why this happens, but it has hindered some users from actively using the account. For our lab, we receive hundreds to thousands of clinical samples every year, as we have international collaborators and are also partnered with local public health administrators In order to organize/categorize these samples and provide detailed information about them (such as concentration/type of sample/etc) we implemented genemod in our lab to allow for this. Additionally, our lab has numerous members that work on different projects, so being able to have multiple members access an account and organize their samples/boxes on how they please is very beneficial as well. Genemod's dynamic LIMS features are incredibly helpful for lab management at all levels. It’s not just the inventory side of the software, including freezers, consumables, stocks, and orders, that we appreciate; we’re also really enjoying the ELN portion, especially the ability to create unlimited files under projects and version control. Genemod also has a very responsive customer support system, as they get back to us quickly no matter when we reach out. I wish we could print barcodes in advance without having to designate them to specific samples. Currently, the system only allows us to print barcodes for existing items. Before our team started using Genemod, each member was using different software to meet their needs, aside from our shared documents and spreadsheets. This meant that when it came time to aggregate all the data, we had to spend several days transforming everything into Word and Excel formats. The best part of Genemod is that it offers a great deal of customization and integration between features. When using the virtual freezer, I can create custom items with as many fields as I need, and all those fields are searchable in the filter. The freezer inventory feature is user-friendly, making it simple to track exactly what’s stored where. Plus, the repository gives us a clear, at-a-glance overview of our entire inventory, so we always know what we have on hand and what needs restocking. I've been using Genemod to manage R&D projects with teams from other institutions, and it's been very helpful. One of my favorite features is the Electronic Lab Notebook with live-editing. It's super handy because I can see who's working on what in real time, which has made coordianation so much easier. Also, consumables management makes much easier for me to manage all the facilities, consumables, and products, letting me know where they are and how are available. I would recommend that the Genemod team add a 'What's New' tab to keep customers informed about updates.
