We use GAT+, GAT Shield, GAT Flow and Teacher Assist, and each has become indispensable for us. As long as we're a Google school, we'll have GAT+. The support is outstanding, the products, though sometimes a little complex, work very well, and it's a must have complement to Google Workspace. GAT+ adds capabilities not available in Google Workspace, making managing Workspace content so much more accessible. The continuous expansion and improvement of features means the products get better and better. For us admins, it's a day to day tool we can't live without any more. **What do you dislike about GAT Labs?** Google Workspace is complex and not always easy to navigate. As a result, GAT+ can get complex too. **What problems is GAT Labs solving and how is that benefiting you?** Google Workspace can get quite complicated and doesn't provide access to commonly needed information and data. GAT+ fills a lot of those gaps with excellent tools. GAT Shield builds on the chromebook capabilities with its excellent content rules. And being a school, Teacher Assist is an excellent tool for our teachers to keep an eye on our students. GAT Flow helps automate various jobs that would otherwise require manual efforts. ### 3. GAT is a bit like GAM with great UI and even better technical/customer support. Need to remove 1,500 dormant accounts? No problem - use a regular expression in GAT to pull accounts then import to a GAT Flow to archive the accounts; takes all of five minutes. GAT's ability to connect to several tenants opens up new possibilities for actually testing in a "test "environment before pushing a workflow to "production". Tired of exporting User and log records into sheets to crunch in Sheets or Excel? Need custom variables in GWS that can act as variables to direct process flow in a Workflow? No problem, GAT does it. As for customer service? It's quick, courteous and professional. **What do you dislike about GAT Labs?** It's all been positive, nothing to dislike. The GAT Labs products I have used have addressed any of the concerns I might have had about appropriate student use of digital resources. I am confident that I can have students work on any assignment, including assessments, without having to worry about distraction or academic dishonesty. **What do you dislike about GAT Labs?** Because GAT Labs continues to improve their products, there is nothing to dislike. It looks like it can take complicated tasks and batch process commands. It's fast to connect to your Google Workspace. **What do you dislike about GAT Labs?** We purchased a subscriptioon for GAT+ due to security concerns with filesharing in the company. What was supposed to be our saving grace from manually going to each file and adjusting permissions quickly became a faulty program we paid $900 a month for. We created an "UI Bug" that was an "edge case", where we had to constantly contact the support team to help process our queue. The issue was created by "flooding" the queue with requests. Only, the longer we worked with GAT+ the more we realized it wasn't a UI bug. The tasks were not running, and each time their support team helped us the tasks would run again. They would go 1-5 tasks in and then stop, getting hung up on something. We've been working on the same queue of 300+ tasks for two months. And the data about our drive shows that from 9/4/24 - 10/21/24 there were a few changes. The items shared out by us files shared to specific external users went down initially. But the longer we kept the software, and the more tasks it processed the more those numbers went back up. The inital report justifying the software went well, and after that providing any numbers in my reports looked like the software was backfiring. The biggest problem with the issue is that you, as your workspace admin, cannot cancel, stop, or remove any of the items in your queue. So in our case, we have a backlog of 300+ tasks that are still waiting to go through. I can't get new tasks to complete. I can't clear out my queue and follow best practices. I basically have to keep an eye on the software and when it pauses for too long email the GAT+ support team to help. Not very efficient for removing ex-employee & ex-contractor access from your Google Drive in a timely manner. **What problems is GAT Labs solving and how is that benefiting you?** It was supposed to help us remove ex-employee and ex-contractor access from our Google Drive. ### 6. The drive management brings lot of things without having to rely on scripts and the possibility to delegate restricted actions to dedigated people is very useful. And for Gat Shield it allowed us to go further in our Chromebook deployment, with automation, audit, and more security for our users. I'm very happy with the service and my ability to refresh 100 signatures after the marketing team "rebrands." (They do a lot of rebranding.) But it's a great product, and tech support has always followed up when or if I needed help, **What do you dislike about GAT Labs?** As with every product, the law of unintended consequences raises its head. The dev team is still actively improving the product. The tech support teams sometimes have to patch some of the "improvements" that weren't 100% ready for prime time. They are the only vendor I'm familiar with that reaches out with offers of training sessions or support, and it's only my limited time that prevents me from taking them up on the offers. Implementation was quick and straightforward, routine queries can be built and stored to make it easy to repeat commonly used searches or operations. The system has a wealth of features for educational admins like me, who have to multi-task to cover IT and other responsibilities. If I had to rank my IT utilities and monitoring systems, I would put GAT at the top of the list in terms of usefulness, efficiency, and value for both time and money. **What do you dislike about GAT Labs?** It might seem like having the world headquarters in Dublin might be an issue for support in North America, but this has never been the case in my experience. I've always been able to get help when reaching out and have never had to wait for the right time zone to roll around into work hours. The one frustration I have is that I'm unable to find time to work with their agents on proactive product knowledge. Fortunately their documentation is well organized and readily understandable for users regardless of their previous experience. **What problems is GAT Labs solving and how is that benefiting you?** The Google Workspace Admin Console is a sprawling, not terribly well organized set of tools which require both efficient search techniques and patience and persistence to navigate, particularly as features are added and tacked onto the console in unpredictable and sometimes unmanageable ways. GAT offers a clearer path to answer questions and implement procedures in how it rethinks Admin Console processes and presents options to admins in clear, understandable workflows. This saves me time, which is critical as my role includes general school administration as well as IT. Maybe better said, the UI isn't all that bad. It's more the UX side of things. Looking at data older then 6 months, bulk drive changes, basic auditing. All of this is much easier. We also do some automated reporting and have few notificaitons that pick up data and tell us if anything changes. Rollout was very easy, price is reasonable, support is reasonably fast. **What do you dislike about GAT Labs?** Interface and many features seem archaic. There is no support for directly sending things to Slack. Webhooks only recently got implemented. Main missing feature is lack of configuration options, especially for sensitive things like autoamted reporting. **What problems is GAT Labs solving and how is that benefiting you?** GAT allowed us to vastly strealine looking for data and recovering information. Most of the gGAT features can be found in other products, including Google build in tools. Experience of having it all in one place with much more sensibale interface is worth the money. The current version is not terribly user-friendly and appears to be crowded. **Recommendations to others considering GAT Labs:** You get a healthy trial period. There is also another tool GAT Shield which give us a very detailed view of the browsing activity of everybody here. This tool also allow us to open files and emails without the user notice and that's fantastic. **What do you dislike about GAT Labs?** I'm used to the old interface but it seems that they are working in a new one. I hope they can release that new version soon. You should definitely get the Bundle there is a great feature with instant alerts, when some user type a some bad words or credit cards you will receive an instant notification by email with a screenshot and a webcam photo! **What problems is GAT Labs solving and how is that benefiting you?** With the ease to find shared files outside the organisation we have prevented data leakage and also the option to delete a series of emails from our users to prevent from phishing it's very powerful for us.
