## About Garden
Garden is the component that Cloud Foundry uses to create and manage isolated environments called containers. Each instance of an application deployed to Cloud Foundry runs within a container. For more information about how containers work, see the Container Mechanics section of the Understanding Container Security topic.

## Garden Reviews
  ### 1. Nurturing Your Applications to Thrive

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Muhammad Saad H. | Application Development Analyst, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about Garden?**

Container isolation and management: Garden provides strong isolation for containers (called wards) and manages the lifecycle of those containers. This allows Cloud Foundry to scale applications independently and provide security boundaries between apps.

**What do you dislike about Garden?**

Limited metrics and visibility: Garden itself provides limited metrics and visibility into the containers and wards. You have to rely on other CF components like the Diego Brain, Cell Reps and BOSH to get aggregated metrics and logs for the containers Garden manages. It would be helpful if Garden exposed more of its own metrics and management endpoints.

**What problems is Garden solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1. Enabling high density deployment of applications: By using containers (wards) to isolate applications, Garden allows Cloud Foundry to deploy many applications on a single VM or cluster. This high density deployment leads to significant cost savings.

2. Rapid and automated application deployment: With Garden, Cloud Foundry can quickly spin up new containers to deploy applications, move applications across containers, and shut down unused containers. This enables rapid, automated deployment of applications.

3. Improved security and separation of applications: The container isolation provided by Garden gives strong separation between applications and their resources. This improves security and ensures no "noisy neighbor" issues where one application impacts the performance of another application.

We can easily run the .NET app with it and supports multiple backends. It is modular and responsible for creating containers. It can give a good distribution in the market along with its specifications.

**What do you dislike about Garden?**

It was in the developing phase for a long time but it is stable and worthy. Everything works well but the cost could be less but yes the features are awesome, so all over a nice one.

Gathering all Docker images is useful and handy. The user interface is nice and cheap. The growth increases with the flexibility of the product. It gives a huge competition in market standards.
