For me, the biggest win with FotoWare is the way it can be shaped into a well-organised, future-proofed archive that genuinely works for its users.
Metadata: FotoWare allows for granular control over metadata fields, taxonomies, and rights information. This makes it possible to align our collections with GLAM best practice while keeping internal workflows clear and consistent.
Workflow automation: The ability to create actions, macros, and QA processes saves time and reduces errors. Tasks like renaming, rights tagging, and metadata checks become repeatable, reliable, and less dependent on individual memory. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Steep learning curve: FotoWare’s flexibility is a strength, but it also means there’s a lot to learn before you can take full advantage of its capabilities.
Lack of a community forum: There’s no central place where users can easily exchange ideas, troubleshoot, and share best practice. This can make it harder to learn from others or find creative solutions without relying solely on vendor support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
