What do you like best about Fotoware?

For me, the biggest win with FotoWare is the way it can be shaped into a well-organised, future-proofed archive that genuinely works for its users.

Metadata: FotoWare allows for granular control over metadata fields, taxonomies, and rights information. This makes it possible to align our collections with GLAM best practice while keeping internal workflows clear and consistent.

Workflow automation: The ability to create actions, macros, and QA processes saves time and reduces errors. Tasks like renaming, rights tagging, and metadata checks become repeatable, reliable, and less dependent on individual memory. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Fotoware?

Steep learning curve: FotoWare’s flexibility is a strength, but it also means there’s a lot to learn before you can take full advantage of its capabilities.

What do you like best about Fotoware?

I work in the Medical Photography Department, where we use FotoWare to securely store and efficiently organise patient images. FotoWare offers robust search capabilities, enabling us to locate images quickly through various search criteria. Any technical issues we encounter are promptly addressed by the excellent support team—particularly Kevin, whose assistance is always outstanding. The web-based catalogue also allows authorised staff to access images from any Trust computer, supporting timely access to clinical photography and contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care. What do you dislike about Fotoware?

What do you like best about Fotoware?

The most useful thing about fotoware is that I don't have to spend time on searching for a file or an image, it makes everything super accessible and that is extremely important to me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Fotoware?

The downside of it is maybe to be a bit more beginner-friendly. It has a lot of powerful features, so there's a learning curve when setting things up or navigating all the options. But once it's configured and users are familiar with it, it becomes a very efficient and reliable tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Fotoware solving and how is that benefiting you?

As a tech writer, I have a lot of screenshots, diagrams, PDFs, marketing images, and of course many many documents. And finding something was a task itself, very time-consuming and not beneficial at all. But now with Fotoware, everything is easy to search, properly tagged, and up to date. I can quickly grab the right asset when I’m writing, and I don’t have to worry about using the wrong version. It also makes it easier to work with other teams since we’re all using the same library.

"Fotostation best metadata software"

What do you like best about Fotoware?

Fotostation is the best software for entering metadata that I have ever used. It's clear, convenient, and intuitive. What I like most is the keyword archive; just start typing a couple of letters and the entire metadata string appears. It's brilliant. And it also has an exceptional support center. What problems is Fotoware solving and how is that benefiting you?

I have to index thousands of photos a year, I have a gigantic archive of photographs for editorial use. Fotostation is indispensable for me to be able to fill in all the metadata fields that are requested by publishing houses, magazines, and newspapers for the publication of photographs. Description, copyright, keywords, date, city, country, and any other useful information to describe the photo and contextualize it in the most precise way possible, allowing those who have to use it in the editorial publication to avoid errors and/or inaccuracies, which in the journalistic sector is a very important thing. What do you like best about Fotoware?

The program is practically organized and can do a lot. I have always preferred it over Photomechanics. I work efficiently, quickly, and with a great overview. The best program to keep order with the images and have the information at a glance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Fotoware?

I want to continue using Fotostation and not have to worry about it being discontinued for me: it is now only available by subscription and possibly no longer accessible to everyone? That would be very bad for me. However, I hope for a good turn of events. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Fotoware?

The way we use Fotoware is very different to how most others use it, we potentially only utilise a fraction of its full capability. But even the small parts we do use, the Fotoware team have helped created custom automated actions to fulfil our requirements, when we looked elsewhere no one else offered the custom tailored approach. What problems is Fotoware solving and how is that benefiting you?

We had a problem where we wanted to bring an old database from another source and combine it with the one we had in Fotoware. The technical support team made custom interfaces that allowed the databases to be merged and work even better for quality procedures and checks. All of our content requires a unique number which also combines the date, Fotoware allows tailor made unique numbers. Were currently only scratching the surface of what Fotoware has to offer, we will be exploring adding image and video previews in the comming year. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
