Being able to classify emails, spreadsheets, presentations and other documents from within the Microsoft environment feels far more practical than relying on a separate process that people may forget to follow. From a marketing and data perspective, I regularly work with customer information, CRM exports, campaign reports and performance dashboards. Having consistent labels attached to that data would make it much clearer what can be shared, who should have access and how sensitive information needs to be handled. I also like the balance between automated classification and giving users some control. Automation can improve consistency, while the central administration and reporting features should make policies easier to manage across a wider organisation. The biggest benefit for me is reducing the reliance on every individual remembering every data-handling rule, without adding unnecessary friction to their day-to-day work. **What do you dislike about Fortra Data Classification?** The main drawback for me is that the value seems heavily dependent on how well the system is configured and introduced across the business. Data classification can quickly become frustrating if users are presented with too many labels, unclear options or repeated prompts, so the initial setup and ongoing policy management need to be handled carefully. The dynamic policy engine follows an event > condition > action methodology. For example, when you want to send an email, if the mail body has sensitive content that you want captured and classification was selected as Internal, in action, stop the sharing. Mail sent, mail classification changed, document saved-printed-closed-saved as-opened-... all events are able to be used for any non-predictable requirements. This ECA provides you with lots of scenarios and flexibility than others. **What do you dislike about Fortra Data Classification?** TITUS needs to improve on the Google Gsuite data classification side. It is an essential tool for any cyber compliance program. We love the SDK - doing some amazing things. **What do you dislike about Fortra Data Classification?** The user interface is clunky. It is not identity aware. We can't dynamically filter tagging options or values based on a user's identity attributes. Solving for this requires the creation of multiple schemas, which are extremely difficult and resource intensive to maintain. Debugging on a user level is excellent, and log generation capabilities are a must-have. User negative experience is minimal. First-time use was not difficult; additionally, the training data and documentation provided were clear and required very little background to understand, making the process of onboarding additional IT teams easier than other applications. The file-centric approach of the applications Admin console allows for easier archiving of previous solutions and retooling when needed for other tasks than originally designed. Sending large emails to distribution lists without undue lag is quite important, especially for such a large company. **What do you dislike about Fortra Data Classification?** Configuration files decimation and updates can be better set up. The use of AD to tailor Titus's functions sometimes causes issues. Encryption software adoption for emails at times causes sporadic bugs. Installation and removal of the app can sometimes be troublesome, requiring 3rd party software for complete removal, even in cases simply for reinstallation purposes. Services used are hard to pause or stop, even for a sys admin. Debugging for remote workers is quite cumbersome, making it difficult at times to address an issue when limited by remote capabilities and privileges. **What problems is Fortra Data Classification solving and how is that benefiting you?** Ensuring protected emails and documents are sent to trusted destinations or encrypted otherwise. tracking and auditing for past infractions when needed is also a great feature. It easily complies with the policies we need to meet the regulation needs in classification. The TCS suite of products allows us to properly label and classify the files and emails in our infrastructure so that we can then make business decision rules based on the labels applied. From an end-user perspective, it's very easy to use and intuitive. **What do you dislike about Fortra Data Classification?** We really like almost everything about TCS.
