## About FlowBeacon
The Story Behind FlowBeacon From the Route to the Code Most pool software looks like an engineer made it. It’s usually just a wall of text on a dashboard that’s basic. A year ago, I started servicing a route of 20+ pools. It didn’t take long to realize the software we were using at work wasn’t built for the person actually doing the work. It didn’t track history and simple stuff, like a checkbox to record when I brushed the walls, just wasn’t a thing. It’s a checkbox, dude. You can add it. It’s not that hard. I tried looking for other apps, but it was the same story everywhere. You either had the “business grade” stuff that cost a fortune or tools like PoolMath that were too limited. I’m a developer, and I quickly realized I didn’t have to settle for a buggy workflow that made my life harder. I built the tool I actually needed. A Beacon of Productivity The name FlowBeacon is simple. Flow covers the water—pools, spas, fountains, whatever. Beacon is the go-to. It’s the tool that actually works for you instead of giving you more homework. I spent months obsessing over the details. I didn’t want another calculator; I wanted a productivity machine. I wanted a shopping list that knew when I was low on chemicals and a workflow that didn’t feel like fighting with my phone every five seconds. Don’t Just Say It’s Predictable. Prove It. A lot of pool apps love to throw around words like “predictable.” But honestly, if your app doesn’t have analytics built-in, what are you even talking about? You can’t claim a pool is predictable if you can’t see the data trends to prove it. I remember the relief when my route finally reached that point. It was that “Finally!” feeling where a weight is lifted off your chest. I got to the point where I could dump 3lb of shock, 4 cups of acid, do my thing, test at the end, and it was perfect. I want every tech to be able to say, “Bro, I don’t even have to look at the water.” You should know exactly what that pool needs before you even drop the kit in because the analytics told you so. How FlowBeacon makes your chemistry predictable. Built for Pros (and the Nerds like us) I built this for the Service Techs who are tired of their camera roll being a disaster zone. I got tired of my phone being buggy and fighting gestures just to snap a “before and after” pic that ended up buried under my personal photos. In FlowBeacon, your media stays where it belongs. You can even set a full-res photo of the pool as the avatar, so when a name looks familiar but you can’t place the backyard, you just tap the image and remember exactly what you’re walking into. But it’s more than just photos. I got tired of the “multi-app shuffle.” I’d see a dusty pool floor and try to set a reminder in my phone to vacuum next visit, only to forget to even make the reminder. In FlowBeacon, you pin that task to the dashboard and it stares you in the face until it’s done. Same goes for the “Math Gap”—I hated jumping to Orenda just to check CSI or resorting to manual scratchpads for GPM and Turnover rates. It’s a math equation; just put it in the app omfg. Real Tracking, Not Just Guesswork The philosophy here is simple: if I know what I have, I know what I need. Most apps have no clue what’s actually sitting in your pool shed. I wanted a way to track the inventory for each specific pool so the shopping list actually makes sense. And for the people actually paying the bills? I built in public links. Whether it’s your boss or a customer who wants to know everything, you can generate a link that shows every step you took that day or over the life of the pool. No more “what am I paying you for?” emails. UX That Doesn’t Hurt to Look At I’m over the dated, ugly apps that rarely get updated. Everyone has a different style, so I added themes. If you want a thermometer for the temp, use it. If you want a gauge, go for it. We kept it modern and “bite-sized” for a quick glance, but kept the raw numbers front and center for the pros who know their stuff. We also fixed the “Ideal Range” headache. Instead of some app dev deciding what your chemistry should be, we implemented a hierarchy: Industry Standards, Global overrides, and Pool-specific overrides. You’re in control. Plus, we serve both schools of thought—Imperial and Metric—because “the fuck’s a kilometer,” right? Efficiency is the Point The biggest game-changer is Quick Add. I hate submenu bloat. I hate clicking through three menus just to log one thing. You customize the functions you use most and put them where you can reach them. And if you ever get stuck, there’s a “Learn” button that takes you straight to the docs without leaving the app. I also know there are homeowners out there who are just as nerdy as we are. You’re the ones on Reddit asking “Now what?” after a test. If you want to save on service costs and do it yourself, I’m giving you the same features I use every day. The only catch? If you have more than three pools, you’re officially a pro in my book—so that’s where the property management logic kicks in.
