What do you like best about Flowable Platform?

We did a market survey and hands-on testing of four BPMN (Business Process Model and Notation) products and selected Flowable as our overall top pick.

- Easy-to-use but still capable and feature-rich workflow and forms interface design tools

- Full support for calling REST APIs to interact with back-end systems

- A templating engine to generate filled-in PDF forms from workflow data

- Supports both Java and JavaScript coding extensibility

What do you dislike about Flowable Platform?

- Flowable has two separate development models and two separate method libraries depending on if one is using the JavaScript front-end forms coding environment or the Java back-end coding environment. The object models and code methods provided by Flowable for each do not match each other and learning and techniques that one can use in one environment are often not available or applicable in the other environment. Having workflow designers go back and forth between these two language environments and Flowable method libraries constantly is a challenge for staff.

What problems is Flowable Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?

We are taking specific business processes, which we have already defined in policy manuals, and turning these into digital processes that are run and orchestrated in Flowable. Flowable provides guarantees that each business process is done correctly and provides us with real-time reporting, SLA metrics and clear ownership assignment for every part of every process. What do you like best about Flowable Platform?
