Picking up and getting simple to moderate level illustrations is quite easy. The learning curve is smooth and it packs all the essential features that one would need to create wow-worthy sketches. Ever since I found out about it, I have incorporated it heavily in my workflow, in my blogposts, in my tweets, Pinterest posts and whatnot. The best thing however is that about 90% of its functionality is free. There's nothing to download, not even that annoying signup prompt. Creating illustrations is quite easy and with the latest features such as snapping, grid, Mermaid.js support, I don't think I'd need any other tool in near future. **What do you dislike about Excalidraw?** While its good that they have made some sensible defaults to keep things minimal, but I don't like the default hand-writing font. As soon as I found it, I have searched online for ways to change it. Also, it would have been better if they allow external images and SVGs to be edited natively in Excalidraw. I used to do these on paper, because it's the easiest way for me to 'think and draw' at the same time. However, once I discovered Excalidraw I found it just "gets out of the way" and allows me to focus on thinking and designing, without being distracted by anything else. They are clearly laser focused on simplicity (I've seen feature requests that are (rightly) knocked back by the team, because of this focus on simplicity and speed of use). Give the free version a spin, you'll probably find it invaluable and then it's a great value for money upgrade to get the cloud-hosted version. **What do you dislike about Excalidraw?** There's nothing I really dislike. I can either export the whiteboard as a png or I can export the file and upload it again later so we can pick up from one class where we left off from the previous class. Excalidraw has removed any and all hierarchy because everyone, EVERYONE can do everything on the whiteboard.
