&lt;p&gt;Scrap and rework would be the discrepancy I’d watch most closely because both can make the system’s expected material consumption diverge from what actually happened on the floor. I’d want operators to record scrap, substitutions, and rework as they occur so WIP valuation updates with production reality rather than requiring finance or operations to reconcile everything at the end of the run.&lt;/p&gt;
